While I wouldn't be inclined to rebadge the Corvette as a Pontiac I sure wouldn't call a "Pontiac symbol" ugly. Pontiac Emblems have EARNED a certain status that I think you just might not know, or have an appreciation for, but your comment doesn't leave me with very high regards for your opinion......
-
I'm not big on the "sky is falling" threads, as has been witnessed before I'm sure... Until Pontiac is confirmed gone I will choose to think of the situation as gossip. Not fact. Much like the axing of the Dodge Viper that never was, yet was reported here and thought of as "fact", I wait until I see actual proof. I've always liked the Pontiac brand, it has something over the years that many automakers DON'T have, a performance heritage of 50 years and alot of unique stuff under it's belt.

I agree. Protectionism AIN'T the answer. That's a "too little, too late" knee jerk response to a problem that goes far beyond just present day automotive sales.

I'm not sure, Japan has used government intervention, it seems to have worked for them??? :AH-HA_wink:
-
Kinda like YOU. In this forum... :AH-HA_wink:
-
Here Ven, did ya read this? I think after your sensationalistic thread title it pretty well sums up the situation. :AH-HA_wink: You gotta do what you gotta do I guess...... LOL
-
Hahaha Too funny. Especially after the earlier posts.
-
OH!!!!! BTW oh wise one.... My daily driver is a 2007 Chevrolet. What is yours?
-
I'm not TRYING to convert, nor looking for people to agree with me. Possibly YOU are the "idiot", who can't see that...? :AH-HA_wink: I'm just responding to a bunch of misinformed and incorrect posts, or silly childish insulting posts, like the ones above.... Like the last couple that YOU made, with no point, just a sad attempt at wit that missed. :AH-HA_wink: BTW- We have a new Chrysler product sitting in our driveway, that we bought with OUR money that we earned. Do you own a new GM product?

Here's my post enzl, please show us what is factual "FALSEHOOD"....
-
Haha Not sure if you don't understand what I wrote, or what... Two magazines that "favor imports" shouldn't be hard to provide links for, just take a look at what you then posted... Like I said, maybe you just aren't understanding what I posted. Consumer's Reports has had different reviews of IDENTICAL vehicles that have domestic/import badges for years and years. Maybe you don't read that kind of stuff, maybe you can't search the obvious - googlesearch comparisons etc... it's been going on for three decades. Please, let me know where a "straight up falsehood" is that I posted, SPECIFICALLY. (Re-read that if you don't understand- post what I posted that is a "STRAIGHT UP FALSEHOOD" so we can see if YOU are posting straight up falsehoods... :AH-HA_wink: ) What was fabricated that I posted? Did you even read what I posted? Makes me wonder.... Like I have said before with the K car and Civic "reported reliability" claims of magazines in the past- I see 25 year old K cars all the time, all over, everywhere. They had a dismal "predicted reliability rating" among the media.... The Honda Civics were receiving glowing "predicted reliability ratings" among the Comsumer's Reports type magazines 25+ years ago... WHERE ARE ALL THE late 1970's early 1980's Civics...?????????? *waits for spin that would make politicians blush* :AH-HA_wink:

You've got some really knowlegeable, really informative posts! Does your Mommy know you are on the internet? You really SHOULD be supervised you know.... :AH-HA_wink:
-
No, GM is still around. Check back August 4th though, we will know GM's fate then.
-
Pretty funny stuff. I never posted anything about "GM is worse", but what you did was exactly what you say is pointless. I'll quote! Then what do you post...? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's obvious, just not to YOU. :AH-HA_wink:
-
Strange, VenSeattle is in the Chrysler forum chewing popcorn while contributing to the SPECULATION of Chrysler bankruptcy, I wonder when he will come in here and do the same...? :AH-HA_wink: I'm sure there won't be excuses here and self glee over there.... The domestics had better tighten their belts and ride out this time of trouble, GM, Ford and Chrysler are the only vehicles I usually care about.....? Too much image perception is giving the imports an unfair advantage IMO. Domestics bashing domestics AIN'T helping.
-
BTW..... I ran across this quote in an article, it's not by an internet blogger, but by Merrill Lynch..... It's in this forum in a thread, you might want to check it out, have a laugh, you know, do the stuff you usually do in here for the Chrysler stuff.... :AH-HA_wink: Link for your amusement about "domestic car free falling"... http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=24483

With GM sales down 53.4% maybe they should look to Daimler too?
-
I read the blog in question with the "speculations".... Here's what else it said.... I realize there are a few here who take the "SPECULATED" Chrysler bankruptcy as gospel, so let's see if they think other points in the same blog are accurate, shall we....? *ahem* Now, I know nobody bothered to care to read THIS little piece into the equation before the "free falling" sky is falling, sky is falling" comments started.... *ahem* Mind you, the blogger also goes into Chrysler's history. INcorrectly... and Sorry Mr. blogger, but it was actually the K CAR. The guaranteed loans were paid off long before the Caravans ever made the scene. Loan paid in full in 1983. Here, for those who believe all the blogs that they read.... he wrote this too! See? soaring gas prices don't even affect the SUV sales! Take the blogger with a grain of salt. Or a beach.... :AH-HA_wink:
-
LOL! I've bought new cars. I know V8 car's aren't "history". I just bought one! Hate to tell you, it's a REAR WHHEL DRIVE DOMESTIC WITH A V8! Baby, head, fall, whatever the saying is...... :AH-HA_wink:
-
LOL!!!!!!! Quotes from the consistently innacurate. Thanks! Have a look see at GM's financial situations, and their delightful layoffs north of the border.... :AH-HA_wink: C&G crowd, at their best
-
I think if he was smart he would be worried about GM, Ford AND Chrysler. Domestics are in trouble, doesn't matter how ya slice it. Debt, rumors, rising gas prices and poor economy aren't a great sales pitch....

No camera phones allowed! GM plant electrician fired for Camaro pics
CMG replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in Chevrolet
Hahaha!!!!! I just went back and went through the whole link. The blog that has the story has all the pics he took up displayed for the world to see does it not? Read the comments under the photos.... LOL
