  1. Well reg, as I ACTUALLY OWN a Dodge Magnum R/T, let me point out your inaccuracies. As usual. The 5.7 Hemi with MDS is in the LX cars. They are rated at...... WHAT mpg compared to the 3.5 V6 cars? Do you know..???!?! I'm guessing you have no idea. The 5.7 Hemi LX cars get very good gas mileage for what they are. The SRT8 cars aren't quite as good on gas, but nobody BUYS them for gas mileage. They want a high performance sedan, which is what they get. In spades. The 2.7 SE cars aren't the world's most popular where I live, most of the LX V6 cars here are the 3.5 V6. The V6 engine you claim you want is coming out in 2010 too, search for "Phoenix V6" and you *might* get a hit or two. I'm sure you'll spell it wrong though.... :AH-HA_wink: LOL Our Magnum interior is nothing what you describe. At all. My wife has owned MANY cars that were nice interiors/ good performance, and she has had her Magnum R/T for a year and a half, and still LOVES the car. Not likes, LOVES. The interior is awesome. Great features, comfortable, durable, lots of convenience options. Long trips are like a vacation, she actually loves driving it. We still attend LX meets, the kind where enthusiasts in love with their cars gather to hang out and exchange ideas, stories, and show each other their cars. Our local LX group has large meets twice a week, and they are attended by a couple of dozen cars each week. LOTS of interest in the LX cars still, despite the Challenger being brought out. We also have "track days" with the LX crew, where guys go in numbers to our race track and try to get their best times.m Lots of very impressive numbers come up on the board. You just don't have a clue reg, or you post your garbage to try to get a rise in this forum, and quite frankly I think it's the former. Sorry!
  2. I really think Hummer should have remained the actual Hummer, not rebadged GMs. Stick with the H1 and let the GMC and Chevy brands sell the other platforms.....? I'm surprised at how poor the Solstice is doing, I think a couple bad reviews and a couple troubles have bit them possibly. I think the domestics need the economy to pick up so buyer confidence comes back, until then it will be sparse pickins. Who is thinking the Malibu was going to be a stronger seller besides me?
  3. LOL! Hit the Chrysler section in the "other guys" forum here at C&G, alot of threads that are one sided, poorly done, and quite inaccurate are posted there on a regular basis... It's good for some of the C&Gers to get a taste of what I commonly post about there, maybe they can see it from the other side of the fence now....? :AH-HA_wink:
  4. I agree.
  5. That *MIGHT* be a little overboard...? :AH-HA_wink: LOL
  6. LOL EVERYBODY has an opinion. Some go with the grain, some go against the grain, depends on which way your grain lies.... :AH-HA_wink: I think there are some points that are made but it's still a "sky is falling" speculative article. Dumb, but there are crowds that just eat that stuff up. What do you do? The domestics sure take a beating time and time again in the forums and in the media, no wonder people's eyes have strayed to the imports. The domestic crowd is their own worst enemies without even knowing it IMO. Like I've said before, I'm most interested in domestic cars, and from experiences galore I don't think fondly of most imports. An article on the internet written by somebody I have no idea about isn't going to change my mind that easily.... :AH-HA_wink:
  7. Well, the 2009 Challengers can be deemed "affordable" to those who can afford ......
  8. First thing I thought was Chrysler Firepower. I like that Aston alot, and I've always liked Astons, but I still like the Chrysler Firepower concept car MORE. I think it's gorgeous.
  9. The internet links and resulting stories are all over the map nowadys, it's almost ENTERTAINMENT as opposed to NEWS... Ford merging with GM GM merging with Chrysler Ford and Chrysler merging... Over the last year I think I have heard it ALL!!!!!!
  10. If they can sell over 500,000 Camaros in the next five years, I would think that would be more than just an "acid test". Don't get the "hope" numbers up there too high, and no disappointments will follow... :AH-HA_wink:
  11. Yup. I see things the same way.
  12. Yup, these ensless rumours and speculative articles mean very little... The guys at Cerebus ain't stupid. It's like all the armchair quarterbacks read these articles and instantly KNOW what Chrysler (or ANY domestic manufacturer) is doing wrong, and they all know how to fix it! :AH-HA_wink: I say wait and see what develops instead of blindly reading this stuff. GM was on the verge of bankruptcy a month or so ago according to many internet forums, is GM bankrupt yet? Ford just took a beating with their quarterly earnings report with HUGE losses. Internet forums had them merging/liquidating/downsizing all over. Good thing the internet is the internet, and the real world is the real world. ALL domestic manufacturers need to tighten their belts and rethink strategies, and get back to turning profits. SOMEHOW. I hope they do. Chrysler, Ford and GM.
  13. Our F-350 at work has had it's shifter handle break off FOUR TIMES at the base. It's a 6 year old truck now. Not "quality materials" if you ask me... :AH-HA_wink: The Caliber's biggest "con" for me is when you close the doors you KNOW you are in a low priced vehicle. It has that "cheap" feel to it, the older imports were famous for it.
  14. I'm sure the upcoming Camaro will be marked up at first when it debuts, but somehow I don't think you'll attribute it to :AH-HA_wink: That Chrysler article is just more spin, a year or two down the road is when I'll think it's safe to make a judgement, as the companies are all putting their best face on right now it seems.
  15. I have no pity for the dealerships as they MARK UP the selling price of the new Challenger $20,000 over sticker price and such..... :AH-HA_wink: If I was in "dire straights" I would be moving stock in quantity... don't ya think?
  16. They seem to claim they are profitable, and actually are portraying they MADE money... http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...UTO01/808010433 Mind you, anything can be spun any way, but on the surface it seems Chrysler is doing OK in a very bad time. So far anyways.
  17. I agree, the Prowler was a heckuva gamble to produce as a production car, I was impressed to say the least. The Viper was a second American sports car at least, which improved both it and the Corvette over the years with competition amongst themselves.
  18. Ever seen the interior of an SRT8? I doubt your post has any merit. Like that would be unusual.... (Now THAT is "sarcasm" )
  19. Funny how a guy daily driving a 300 SRT8 with an "enlarged pushrod from a Dodge Ram" wouldn't look twice at your car. Why? You would be BEHIND HIM. LOL!!!!!!!!!
  20. The Stealth was a Mitsubishi. The Mitsubishi GTO actually... (The GTO was actually rebadged as both the 3000GT and the Stealth) I wouldn't even consider it a Chrysler product really myself... The Prowler was a killer little car, but how many cars that far out of the mainstream that seat two can an automaker sell?
  21. You gotta be one of the LEAST intelligent posters in here in awhile, and THAT is saying something! hahaha "Glory Days" Too funny!
  22. Yeah sure. Take your daily driver and show a Chrysler 300 SRT8 who's boss! You go girl! LOL!!!!!!!!
  23. Hahaha How very true...... :AH-HA_wink:
  24. I don't consider the Jalopnik article as "news", more of a discussion of possibilities from a automotive blog. I have no idea what will happen with the Viper, I know I have no new Viper purchases in my near future, so whatever it is won't affect me. I just don't think a tongue in cheek headline to an article with a satirical picture should be taken as gospel. Or news of any sort.... these guys are just stating their opinions about circumstances in the future which they admit they aren't sure of and too many people are taking it as Chrysler dropping the Viper instead of reading the article. Chrysler itself might not be around in 2011, or GM or Ford for that matter, ANYTHING is possible. Why hasten things with these "speculative" articles I'll never know...?
  25. Actually, I went back and reread (AGAIN) the whole article to see where you could come to that conclusion, and found THIS.... Next paragraph.... Now what do you think....?
