  1. I'm not well versed in the 4 cylinder stuff, but I know the cranks changed around 1986 or so, the flexplate/flywheels don't interchange. The 2.2 intercooled cars had Garrett turbos which are better for modding, so I was just told. My Daytona has a 2.5 turboI auto, I know to do a swap the ECU has to be changed, but I don't really know much else.... I assume anything related to boost would have to be gotten off a turbo car. The 2.5 N/A engines weren't bad..? I used to buy wrecked Shelbys for donor cars, suspensions, wheels, body and interior parts... they actually have lots of good stuff on 200-300 cars.. Some of those cars were called "Dusters" weren't they?
  2. Looks a heckuva lot better with the parts swapped out! I just bought a Daytona for my kid, I *thought* it was in good shape, but swapping the carpet let me see some road beneath, I had to do some unexpected rust repairs on the floor! What is the drivetrain in the Shadow? What are your plans for it, any set plans, or...?
  3. It was STOLEN! I thought about doing another one, but I have too much on my plate already!
  4. Hahaha!!!! Thanks Sixty8Panther, but I shoulda used a different word than "bland". I got some real weirdo ride pics too... I'll have to dig some out. Alot of my stuff isn't mainstream, and some of my stuff that I have LOVED my friends have hated... LOL
  5. Another daily driver for years and years, I sold it to a buddy who ran 11.63 @ 118 mph. With 2.76 gears and 29" tall tires. The car barely got into 3rd gear....
  6. Here's one of my most embarrassing cars.... I was driving this in 1979.... it had alot of engine work and 2 1/4" exhaust right out the rear.... A ricer before there were very many ricers....
  7. LOL I got alot weirder ones, trust me. hahaha Here's the Wife's car. NOT mine.....
  8. And before I go to bed I better post up another I would call bland for sure, my work truck for years and years....
  9. I built this for the street dargs many moons ago, it was just about to be tubbed- the 440 was all built and the car was no longer a 4 door.... LOL and somebody STOLE the body! Where it is I have no idea, but if it ever shows up it's gotta be the only shortened Plymouth Viscount on the planet- it was a 1959 Dodge front end with a 1959 Plymouth rear end....
  10. My wife drove this one for a few years too....
  11. My wife's daily driver for years, 440, 2x4bbl with 4.10s..... 295s on the back, it would cook sideways at 30mph roll ons...
  12. Here's one of mine that was FAST, it looked nice, but it was a purpose built pounder, one ride inside and it was obvious that it wasn't a Lexus.... LOL
  13. EFI Hilborn injected 484 Hemi. It's the first car I've built that I didn't build the engine myself!!
  14. It's a 1940 Plymouth Coupe. I've had it since I was a youngin, it used to be 440 powered....... I picked up my now wife in high school in the car.. but it looked like this.... "little" N50-15s... LOL I've gone with a 484ci engine with EFI this time, I've never built anything with EFI before so this is all new to me. Accel genVII with a dual sync distributor and a wideband. Sounded like jibberish when I first started buying stuff. LOL It's got Wilwoods all four corners, never had brakes that worked before! :AH-HA_wink: hahaha The cage was good until 7.50 when it was built, but now it's good until 8.50 because of rule changes. It won't go that fast anyways. Barton built the engine, John Cope did the tranny, I built almost all the rest, even the A arms, headers, exhaust, dash, fuel cell, etc etc etc They are Pro Trac 515s on the rear for the street, I have slicks on spare rims for seeing what I can break at the track... Under construction photos only.... sorry! I have a little bit left to get it running, these pics are taken a couple of years ago, I still have to get it running and strip it completely down one more time for paint.... Before I get old I hope.... lol
  15. BTW- one of my all time favorite pics on this site EVER..... Now THIS is the kind of pic I call PERSONALITY.
  16. LOL You ain't so bad yerself Sixty8panther! :AH-HA_wink:
  17. We have weekly meets on our LX forum, (BIweekly for us Vancouver guys) and this is the turnout for the last cruise for the LX forum for our local members.... I guess if you don't think they are great cars you must wonder how time and time again more and more people are cruising/meeting other LX owners....?
  18. Well aside from picking a picture that isn't flattering, I'll have to say that after a year+ with ours my wife still LOVES her car. ENTHUSIASTICALLY. She actually saw her interior before buying the car, and she got a chance to drive in the car before buying it too! LOL What car do you have that has dual climate control, Boston Acoustics stereo, heated leather fully adjustable power seats, power pedals, a completely useful EVIC display accessible through the steering wheel, etc etc etc etc etc? Go ride in a loaded Magnum for a week, or even a fairly equipped Magnum R/T and come back and tell me what you think.... :AH-HA_wink: They are GREAT domestic cars IMO. We bought one with our hard earned money, and strangely, WE LIKE IT!
  19. I absolutely LOVE the old concept stuff. Any concept car from the early 50's to the late 60's was fascinating to me. Great stuff, thanks for the link!!!!!
  20. Holy KRAP! I know adults who can't/won't drive a motorhome over 24 feet! Forget towing anything..... LOL
  21. Here's the one in the garage Sixty8panther....
  22. Have you ever heard of an FMC motorhome? I have ALWAYS wanted one, but never found one that I could afford at the moment they popped up.... one day I hope... they were 440 pushers! Here's the one behind the fence in the above pic.... I sold it a couple of years ago though... my wife was choked I had TWO motorhomes, as she would say.
  23. Here's the most conservative vehicle I presently own, and second to newest too...... It's a built small block with a .485" hydraulic roller, ported 2.02/1.60 heads, M1 intake, Edelbrock carb, headers, 3" Flowmaster 50 series, and a 4.10 rear..... it moves preetttttty good for something with a kitchen in it.... LOL It can bunny hop the wheels well over a foot off the ground with ease.
  24. A-HA!!!!!! Conservative styling! That's what I consider as a "bland car". I like many cars I would consider "bland cars" btw... the Hemi car being an example I thought might make sense...? Many of my cars haven't been "conservative" at all, but that doesn't mean people think they are GOOD looking.... they just don't blend in with the pack... :AH-HA_wink: haha
  25. I think we equate "bland" with different things.... To me a sleeper is a bland looking car that outperforms it's looks. A stiock Chevy II would be "bland" to me, or a stock Valiant. I find bland to be something that can blend in with the crowd of cars, it doesn't mean "ugly". Not the way I see it anyways. The Jensen is up and running, as soon as I get four switches it WILL be my daily driver/parts chaser. It's not terribly fast- my wife's Magnum R/T will probably beat it in the 1/4 mile, but I don't care...? My daily driver from 1991 until 2000 was this car, it was driven in the rain/sleet/snow, parked outside 24/7/365, and my wife DID buy groceries in it, many a time..... I drove it in the snow! To be honest it wasn't one of my favorite cars, I like older stuff much better. I like 59 Buicks more. *shrugs*
