I think those who don't know who Jeremy Clarkson is are at a disadvantage here... His review of the Sebring was humorous, but it's not his MOST HATED American car by far I bet.... He didn't blow it up with a helicopter at least.... :AH-HA_wink:
-
LOL!!!! Shock journalism! How shocking! Yup, ALL AMERICAN CARS ARE JUNK! Thanks for the link.

I'm just having fun working on my Jensen Interceptor...... Congrats on the upcoming kidlet! :sign0200:
-
Well, I saw one in person yesterday and I have to say that while trucks usually don't impress me, I was truly IMPRESSED. It's a great looking truck. I'm gonna have to get my mitts on one for a test drive!
-
It won't be THAT easy I bet..... Gas prices and the economy will outweigh talent and deep pockets, for the near future anyways...
-
I wonder how many Jensens have these....? lol Yeah, call me stupid..... The CH28 intake is easy to find, but I hunted down a set of ceramic coated S&S / Delta Motorsport Jensen Interceptor headers... Still collecting parts, but more to come!
-
I'll have more pics soon! lol I just bought a set of Delta S&S Interceptor headers and a whole bunch of other parts, and tomorrow I get a not-so-correct intake manifold I'm hoping.... swapping out tires and suspension pieces too...
-
LOL!!!!!!!

I think YOUR doctor removed 200% of YOUR brain tumor....? :AH-HA_wink:

Cerberus APPROACHED DAIMLER to buy the rest. Strange Cerberus never wanted 20% of GM....
-
Got the front of my Jensen apart, going to do a little cleanup and upgrades, I'm dropping the front end around 1 1/2", getting the brakes and suspension up to snuff and cleaning things up in general.... Icky front end initial pic.... Just starting the cleanup.... I want the front end lower because my car came with taller springs to attain a North American legal front bumper height. I want a level car though.....

Typical scam ad. I see them all the time, they all have the same weird giveaways. Remember this line... trust me....
-
HEY! Just what I was thinkin..... Don't get me wrong, I find it hard to pass up decent cars for $500 or so, but the 59 is a worthy car, and since there is already a Mercedes hardtop in the equation.........???
-
LOL I can't speak for Dodgefan, but I can tell ya I'll be driving old "crappy" cars long before I'll drive those jellybeaner little cars.... I'm not a fan either!

What a weird, weird take on Chrysler's history IMO. The Valiant was a car destined to rust, not really a "looker", but the leaning tower of power and the tranny was reliable. The Volare was a cheap commuter pile. The K car was a boxy, uninspiring 1980's version of the Model T. It was cheap and reliable as heck. But who wanted to be seen in one? The Neon was a cheap entry level car, it had it's fair share of problems in the first few years too. The LH cars weren't bad, but the 2.7 engine was. The late 80's Caravan transmissions you never mentioned, which is surprising because the tranny problems were a HUGE deal for Chrysler's image. The current crop of cars is pretty decent. The netry level cars are affordable and decent, the performance stuff is pretty danged good, and the SRT stuff is awesome. No other way to put it.

It's funny, I see soooo many Mopar guys up in arms about Daimler "ruining" Chrysler, but I see LX cars, Vipers, SRT4s, SRT8s, Crossfires, all sorts of cool cars. I look back at the mid 80s and what stands out? Shelby Lancers, Shelby Daytonas, GLHS Omnis, nothing much beyond that...? I see boring cars from GM and Ford for the most part too. Look what the Malibu turned into- or the Monte Carlo. Or the "Nova" of the mid 80s. TERRIBLE! It was a rebadged Toyota. Before Daimler Chrysler the Ram was dwindling into the distance, I now see Rams EVERYWHERE. They are a very popular truck. I wonder what the 1990 Ram market share was compared to Daimler/Chrysler's Ram's market share.... or the present day Ram's market share? I see the Ford F150 turned into a bland looking but best selling truck. I'm not a guy impressed by sales numbers, I'm a guy impressed with VEHICLES. The Ford F150 might outsell all sorts of things, but since the Lightning was cancelled it's a very BORING truck as far as I'm concerned. Look at the Silverado! Even most Chevy guys are waiting for change. It's turned ugly, like the restyle of the Dakota a few years back. I think the current crop of MoPars isn't bad at all. The SRT stuff is awesome, the Viper is self explanatory raw awesomeness, the Challengers are a hot looking car, the Ram is awesome, the minivans sell alot but are as bland as the import minivans now, and even the entry level Chryslers aren't "bad". Sorry guys, but I call "sour grapes" again. Look at Ford's incredibly BLAND lineup, look at GM's in between lineup, and look at what I consider as the best lineup (as of right now). Chrysler *might* go under one day, might screw up down the road, whatever- but as for PRESENT DAY vehicles, they make the funnest, most ballsy across the board lineup of cars as far as domestics go IMO.

Caliber, Avenger and Sebrings are entry level cars more or less. Give us a BMW for $15,000 new and let's see what we get.... The 300M was easily competitive with any German car of it's price class. EASILY. Post a German car of the same price class you feel is remotely better.

1957 DeSoto Adventurer had a 150 speedo and an underdash record player, hard combination to beat!
-
I know the 57/58 Plymouth Furys had a 150mph speedo, it wasn't the first though.... The 1955 Chrysler C300 was a 150mph speedo too.....

LONGEST- I've owned my 1940 Plymouth Coupe since the early 80's. SHORTEST- I have had TWO cars I've owned a REALLLLLLY short amount of time. A 1973 Mazda RX3 wagon that was mint- I got the car for free and was driving it home on my car hauler when my buddy pulled beside us at the lights and told me he just totalled his car, he needed wheels. I pulled over and dropped the car, charged him $100 for a mint rotary wagon. LOL A 1966 Hemi Belvedere minus engine/trans (see other threads for pics) that I loaded on a different car hauler I owned, made it a few blocks before people (I knew) were pulling me over with offers, and I ended up giving the car to my best friend for FREE. I figured I would tub the car or butcher it, and the car had a chance surviving with my buddy. Both cars I owned for less than an hour.

Dang Moltar ya took the wind outta my sails! LOL I looked it up on Wikipedia, the coach convertibles were what the factory coupe conversions were called, and there were actually quite a few of the Olds Cieras by their posted build numbers..... More than I would thought for sure.
-
Here, it is properly called a "coach convertible", and I don't think the car is a "one of one" as claimed, not according to Wikipedia anyways........ Oldsmobile Ciera- Oldsmobile Ciera Hess & Eisenhardt/Car Craft(1983-1986) 814 built From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coach_convertible
-
Probably because not many cars were modified by Car Craft..? Oldsmobile could "sanction" ANY car customizer to do ANYTHING to ANY car. It's not a "production" car though. It's a 2 door Coupe that has been CONVERTED to a convertible by a company called Car Craft. It's great as a curiosity, but it's not a "rare car" by factory production numbers, because it didn't exist as a factory production car. Watch the bidding, Oldsmobile collectors know their Oldsmobiles, inside and out IMO....
