  1. That's wierd....'cause driving from the car wash to the bar should have warmed up the brake enough (through use while driving and braking) that it should have been a non-issue.... I've never had that happen all the years I lived in cold climates....and I'm TOTALLY OCD about washing my cars...even in the winter.. Sounds like you had an unrelated problem with your parking brake....
  2. Yeah....the W41 SCX was a rare bird.....and what was funny was that the wheels were smaller 14-inchs (versus 15-16inch on uplevel Achievas) but wider tires....that lead to the handling advantages. Even with 190hp, though, it wasn't that fast. Sure it was peppy....but I remember a VERY embarrassing stoplight grandprix where I got my ass handed to me by a Merkur XR4Ti turbo. The Skylark T used the Chevy-corporate 2.8L V6 carb with the H.O. induction system (135hp.) Same engine that was in the Citation X-11, et al. Speaking of LeSabre coupes....my mom had two.....one of the first '86 coupes to come out.....a Limited Coupe with the Gran Touring Package.....black with tan cloth interior. Then she had two LeSabre T-Type coupes.....one of my FAVORITE Buicks still.....(Mom worked for Buick at the time as well.....)
  3. All you have to do is drive a couple of hours up to Flagstaff....they get TONS of snow there in the winter. That's the beauty of it (California's like this as well...) go drive up and enjoy the snow for a day or a weekend, then go home to your 65-75degree sunny weather.

heheheeh.....you know, Croc (bless his heart) would say I'm just "braggin" about my Corvette.... BUT....every day that I drive it.....it flabergasts me that this car (so refined, so easy to drive, so comfortable) can go 0-60 in 4.3secs and through the 1.4mile in 12.8secs at 112mph....! AND it's a GM product! AND for the money, all those guys in their Porsches, AMG Benzs, and six-figure exotics have to try pretty damn hard to beat me....or keep up with me.... My friend who I let drive the Corvette is the kind of guy that doesn't really "know" cars like us on here do....he's pretty much a non-enthusiast and didn't understand what was the big deal with me getting the Corvette....UNTIL he drove it... Now....get THIS.....he said it was "...like driving a Lexus..." Before you LYFAO, get where he's coming from......he THOUGHT Corvettes were blue-collar rumble-wagons that lacked any sort of refinement. When he drove it, he was yes amazed at how fast it was....but he couldn't BELIEVE how relatively quiet it was....or how easily it clutch-and-shifted....or how nice it rode and how tight it was. THANK YOU, GM...!
  5. LAME excuse for a "special edition"......... ......but a beautiful car nonetheless.......
  6. I think it's HOT....and I love it..... But I'm worried that GM may be caught kinda flat-footed in the performance department with the new Camaro..... IF we assume that Challenger will have a 5.7L with 340hp and a 6.1L with 425hp......will Camaro be able to compete with a 5.3L with 303hp and a 6.0L LS2 with "only" 400hp? I'm hoping that Chevy has a (production) trick up its sleeve......
  7. I got yer "Whip Antenna" right here.... <graps crotch with hands>
  8. I'm sorry..... The Civic is 10-TIMES the car the new Cobalt is....now matter what way you try to spin it, Reg.... I'm sorry....and I'm sure I'll get ragged on here for it....but it's TRUE That's not to say I don't like the Cobalt....I do....but whereas GM is finally at a competitive (but not any way superior) level with the competition, Honda has taken the new Civic to a new level. Really....the powertrain debate is a MUTE-POINT.....any low-rpm torque advantage that Honda may lack....is surely made up by it's clean and fast-revving nature. Simply put, it doesn't take any more time for Civic to rev into its powerband than it does the low-torque-advantaged Cobalt....and YES, I've driven both.... Call it different strokes for different folks. One thing is for sure....the Cobalt's Ecotech l4 cannot compete with Honda's NVH and smoothness. Sorry....but it's true. Let's talk about fit-and-finish and quality-of-materials. Civic TROUNCES Cobalt's cheap, shiny, brittle, and nasty dash, door panel, and switch plastic.....irrelevant of what you think of the actual style of the interior.....and YES, I like the actual STYLE of the Cobalt's interior much more than Civics....but Civic is MUCH more well made.....with mostly soft-touch plastics and much superior switch feel. Exterior design? Cobalt is attractive....but bland. Civic is attractive (in my opinion) and a bit unique. I could go on-and-on....but won't. I almost didn't post this....'cause I know the attacks I'll get from the spinsters on here....but I had to. After the Civic, GM better be DAMN worried about what Toyota does with the next-generation Corolla....
  9. I'm ALL over that......
  10. I was thinking the other day about ALL the GM cars that I've owned.....you know with the GM discount, I was able to get a new car like every 9-12 months.... I know I kinda have a rap on here for ragging on GM products (hopefully it's seen more as constructive criticism....) so here's some of the stuff I've had..... FIRST ever car bought.....1984 Buick Skylark T-Type w/the 2.8L H.O. V6 and that horrible, tacked-on, bar-graph tachometer above the gauge cluster....remember that? Silver/Grey two-tone with the light grey interior. Loved the throaty exhaust note though... 1989 Buick Skyhawk Coupe....with the 2.0L OHC L4, 5-speed manual tranny, "T" package with the "Shelby" 14-inch alloys. White with grey interior. This car had those flip-under hidden headlights. I put 84,000 miles on this car, and can't remember a problem I EVER had with it. 1991 Saturn SL1, 5-speed manual. Dark red with grey interior. I LOVED this car and at the time, really thought it was more like an import than any other domestic small car out there. (don't remember year) Oldsmobile Achieva W41 SCX.....white with red cloth. This car was FUN...with the 190hp Quad4 and 5-speed manual. MAN though was the engine rough and loud..... (don't remember year) Chevrolet Beretta Base, but with V6 and 5-speed. Dark red with grey interior. This car was a nice change from the Olds. V6 was way smoother and quiet and was decently punchy. The suspension on this base Beretta was pretty floaty though. This was the first GM car that I had MAJOR quality problems. It was in the shop like every week it seemed like. 1994 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe.....3.4L V6 and 5-speed (couldn't afford insurance on the V8.) This was a nice car, dark green with graphite interior....uplevel alloys and t-tops. Loved this car too....but it was gutless, and had MAJOR quality problems like the Beretta. Optional Bose sound system on this car had only THREE (3) speakers...???? WTF? (don't remember year) Buick Regal Gran Sport coupe, 3800 V6, GM-10 chassis. This was one of my favorite cars so far. Mine was white with the red leather interior.....which looked good with the red "pinstripes" set within the black moldings that came with the GS package. Mine DIDN'T have the "4-seater" package though. I had a few others....but shortly after that, GM gave me a company car.....and didn't own a new GM vehicle until I picked up the C6 this last October.
  11. No offense Mule......but I'd rather have a loaded Camry SE, probably in black with the tan leather interior, V6, navigation....than I would the ES330. The Camry's a better deal....and the SE feels crisper in the handling department than the ES330.... You know....for as BLAND as the Camry is....the SE, with the right options....is a very nice Toyota....

Hmmm......I wonder if I've got the quickest car on here? I wonder if I could smoke ya' all...? '06 C6 6-speed hehehehehhhehehhe (just kidding....maybe I'm trying to compensate for "something" although I've been told...."no need to.") Oh, and considering I'm gay, all my friends tell me I've got the most "un-gay" car out there......
  13. Okay.....so I'm happy for the HHR......but seriously....."Detroit Free Press" car and truck of the year? This is significant be...cause.....????? Who reads the Free Press outside of Michigan?
  14. Yeah and one of the big debates is that.....he NEVER admitted killing those four people....therefore, he can't be "redeemed" over what he did.... ????
  15. I work out of my home office.....so I guess you could say it's home AND work. Usually I check it in the morning when I wake up (drinking some java) and usually at the end of the day after work. I'll be online sometimes during the day if I'm working on other stuff on my computer...and will check it periodically if I need a "break" from working and stuff....

Thank you, thank you......my dream she is...... 4,000 miles and NO problems! (Except the parking brake doesn't hold the car on my driveway unless it's jammed WAY up towards the top of the lever's travel....)
  17. I'm celebrating the 10th anniversary of my 25th birthday......

Yippee....I think I figured it out! Here's me with my new baby in Oklahoma on my way back from Bowling Green to SoCal...... edit....damn it's too small....I'll try again.....
  21. Whatever word you want to use, all I can tell you is that I was born gay. There were no "influences" in my life that lead me one way or the other..... Now that I'm older, I can look back as early as 4,5, or 6 years old and I can remember gay tendancies.....like thoughts I had about my male (boy) friends and stuff...and the fact that I NEVER, from day one, had any sort of sexual thought about girls.....it was ALWAYS boys.... Plus, if sexual orientation was something you could influence, why wouldn't ALL of us gay guys just figure out a way to become "straight" and have a MUCH easier life...?
  22. Razor, I'm working my way thru this thread so I'm sure someone's already responded.... But simply to answer your question, let me turn it back on you....and maybe you'll understand... Instead of asking me why a woman doesn't make my mouth water.....why don't you tell ME why a man doesn't make YOUR mouth water......answer that question to yourself and I think you'll understand OUR answer to YOUR question. It's who we are....how we were born....and it would be JUST as difficult for me to be truthfully intimate with a woman as it would be for you to be intimate with a man. Let's ALL not forget.....being gay is NOT just about SEX. Yes, it is about who we have a physical and sexual attraction to....but there's a HUGE emotional component to that as well.......being gay is also who we are going to fall in love with....and who we'll want to spend the rest of our lives with....and so on.... Being gay is so much more than sexual....it's much more complex than that. Razor, YES....you can go have sex with a man.....but even IF you did that, it still wouldn't make you "gay."
  23. A-MEN, brutha..... MEN, MEN, beautiful MEN for me......I must add....I'm very straight-acting, professional, white-boy here...people usually tell me they didn't know I was gay unless I told them.... Which presents a much harder problem.....trying to just randomly meet new guys in everyday life.....it's tough..... Maybe I should try queening out a bit.....hmmm.....eh?
