I have that brochure somewhere stashed away..that is the ad spread that got me excited about Dodge Challengers when I was a kid in the late '70s..I remember the '71 T/A pic showing a yellow car w/ black top and raindrops on it, IIRC.. the R/T was shown in purple in a 'Vanishing Point' like desert scene..

I could see older cars using 15 inch wheels..my '87 Mustang GT has 15s.. 15 inch wheels look great on '60s muscle cars, IMHO.

True..lots of people do dumb things that make no rational financial sense..there are people that RENT wheels, after all.

I like the V10s..they look like the wheels on the Charger and Magnum R/T.

COlroado has a law about using the far left lane for passing only on freeways outside of the metro areas, aimed at the 'left lane bandits'. One exception to the slower-than-speedlimit rule I follow is in bad weather..I will slow down well below 55 if the roads are snowy and icy and with poor visibility. Though I drive an SUV, I'm not one of those reckless $h!bags that blast along in the left lane at 70 mph in snow and ice then roll over in the median...

I'm going to Maui the first week of April... after the snow and nastiness of the last 3 months, I need some sun and sand again (was in Honolulu in Dec).

Interesting.. I wonder if part of the problem is not air bags, but the proliferation of FWD cars with very little crush space between the front wheelwell and driver. It seems many FWD cars have very little space between the wheelwell and interior (bad design, IMHO).

An Audi wannabe from Kia..hilarious. Kia has a reputation for cheap, disposable cars..kind of the Geo of this era...that's a pretty big leap to Audi..

The dryness takes some getting used to..I have to use humidifiers at home...I'm more prone to nosebleeds here than when I lived in the Midwest...I love the sunshine. A friend of mine moved back to the NW (Portland) a couple of years because he & his wife found it too sunny and dry here. As far as cultural amenities, there is enough for my interests...plenty of live music (both local and national bands) and movie theatres.and the art museum has a new wing. Though it's definitely not a San Francisco or LA as far as the arts, etc. Lots of food choices in Denver, Boulder and the burbs, plenty enough to keep a foodie like myself happy..

So it's mileage will be competitive with the Escalade, it sounds like?

I saw a really clean yellow Mustang coupe in my sister's neighborhood in Phoenix when I was out walking the dogs Sunday..it was a 6cyl (4 lug wheels) and was missing the grille trim and had no backup lights, which makes me think it was an early '65 (aka '64 1/2 in some circles)... Saw a very clean '71 Caprice coupe, white w/ black vinyl top...not a lowrider either, but granny style with whitewalls and stock hubcaps. I've seen 3 Bentley Continental GTs since the weekend also...a black one in Phoenix, a silver and a blue one near my office yesterday... saw a silver Bentley Flying Spur sedan in Phoenix also...

As far as vintage Buick names, my favorites are probably Electra, Invicta, Riviera. I couldn't see Skylark or Skyhawk working today, or Roadmaster..they sound old, IMHO.

I haven't had the experience of living in the NW or Minn., but I've found people here in Denver very laid-back and welcoming... I think it has a lot to do with the fact that so few people here were born here, most of the Coloradans in my demographic (30 something computer professionals) are transplants from the Midwest like myself, or from the East Coast, West Coast, or the Canadian plains (lots of Western Canadians here).

My brother bought a new '84 S-10 in silver... it was a pretty good little truck, very reliable..but after 15 Ohio winters, it had to have some bodywork..some rust on the cab corners, rear fender wells, etc.. similiarly, the salty Ohio/Michigan/Illinois winters did a number on my '88 Bronco II...I'm glad Colorado doesn't use salt on their roads.

I'd rather see Cadillac have a good $65-80k competitor for the LS.

I've lived there in the summer before..I can tolerate it...as long as I have good A/C at home, in the car, and at the office, and a pool, I can deal with it...much better than 98 degrees w/ 98 percent humidity like I dealt with in S. Florida and the Midwest, IMHO. I've thought of moving to Phoenix many times..I know the area very well, have family that I'm close to there, my company has people there, and after the last 3 months, I'm sick of winter, even Colorado winters (snow every week since Dec, and a few nights below zero)..and it would get me that much closer to California...
