  1. Probably only 1% of the buyers took 'em off road anyway, though. I've seen quite a few 4Runners on the trails in Colorado, though.
  2. I suppose they could put the Astra front end on the Cobalt to get an Astra sedan out the door quickly for the US if they had to.. Here are more pics of the 4dr Astra.. 4dr Astra article
  3. Someone had too much time on their hands during a cold, ugly Cleveland winter, I guess...
  4. Unfortunately, the coolest, geekiest vanity plate is already taken in my state.. 'GEEKSTA'. Wish I'd gotten it myself.
  5. I would hope not..it's based on the Avenger/Sebring w/a 113 inch wheelbase and a 4cyl standard...maybe 4k lbs or less? One thing I wasn't sure of..is the Caliber/Patriot/Compass on a smaller platform that is also related to the Avenger/Sebring or is it something different?
  6. 2009 Dodge Journey: Don't Stop Believin.
  7. Even if they badge it a GMC, I'm sure diehard El Camino fans would still buy it and peel off the GMC badges and replace them with bowties...
  8. What's strange with Chrysler interiors is that they used to have padded surfaces on the dashes of some models..on my '00 GC, the upper dash (and surrounding the center stack) is a nice, squishy soft plastic..but the center console, door panels, pillars and lower dash are rock-hard plastic..
  9. That looks like the same color I saw a Lucerne in today...looked very sharp w/ cream interior and chrome wheels.
  10. Wierd... Speaking of gas mileage, I saw a Prius today with a bumper sticker that said '50 MPG' and other writing I couldn't read.. I'd like to have a similar sticker for my Jeep that says '18 MPG'..
  11. Journey does sound like a good Land Rover name... I was thinking Atlantica to go with Pacifica.
  12. Looks good...is Chrysler supposed to get a version of this..maybe call it Sebring X or Atlantica?
  13. Yes, San Diego has a great climate.. I like it there a lot..have thought of moving there (though Nor Cal (SF Bay Area) would be better careerwise.
  14. I'd definitely take heat over cold...and sun over gray. I despise cold... I've lived in Phoenix and it doesn't bother me, just have to have good central air, a pool, and cars w/ good A/C. I really like the Colorado Front Range climate...never gets too cold or too hot, some snow, but sunny and dry pretty much all the time..
  15. The side window treatment reminds me of the Mazda CX-7 and CX-9 for some reason...I like the color (would love to see a Mustang in that color). The grille is a bit over the top, though (trying to outdo Audi and Peugeot?)
  16. Mmmmmm... I'd like to try that. I had some wasabi-flavored macadameia nuts in Hawaii...they rocked.
  17. I couldn't imagine driving something that old in today's traffic...
  18. I love Thai and Indian in particular. I also get a craving for Middle Eastern (particularly Lebanese)...there is a really good Lebanese restaurant a few min from my office I find my self going there every couple of weeks. I have Cuban once in a while, only a couple of Cuban restaurants here. Love Vietnamese, esp. rice bowls and pho. I went w/ an Indian friend to a high-end Indian place Sunday night..way out in the southwest suburbs, great view of the mountains and had some dal (lentils), chilli chicken for an appetizer, garlic naan, a couple Kingfishers, and something they call chicken pepper fry..delicious. Dinner conversation was funny, we mostly talked about Scranton, PA, where he travels to every other week for work. Chutneys
  19. It's odd cornering lamps never became more widespread..I think they've been around since the '60s..I've driven a few cars with them, they really do work.
  20. I'm sorry to hear this, and you have my deepest condolences. I lost my dad at age 79 to cancer in 1999. It was hard on me as I felt I had not spent enough time with him the last 10 years of his life, esp. the last 5 when I had moved 1300+ miles away.
  21. I'd like to see that option more often also..here in Colorado, cooled/vented seats would be equally useful as heated seats.. I use my heated seats in the winter, and would love to have cooled seats for summer, esp. since I don't have a parking garage at work anymore. Hmmm..interesting..I wonder if that technology for glasses lenses (photogray/photochromic) could be used on large glass surfaces like car windshields..
  22. I don't really care for the wheels...I'm so tired of 5 spoke wheels..waaay overdone. I'd rather see something w/ more spokes..or maybe black spokes w/ silver rim.
  23. Horn ring..wow... I can't recall when I last saw one of those on a new car..I wonder when those went away..'70s? I like the ala carte option approach..too many cars have packages that may have one or two things that I want in the package...
  24. How about being clever and calling them 'CLR1, CLR2, CLR3, CLR4..'.
  25. Wow...it would be interesting to see the average age #s for all the brands and models, though I would think some car makers would probably keep demo data like that under wraps..
