AZ, MI, and PA don't use front plates, IIRC. I'd rather see only a single rear plate. Front plates clutter up the look of many modern cars, like the Solstice or new CTS.

I think was a common issue w/ the Fox platform...my '87 Mustang GT feels nose-heavy.. I've had some scary moments with it in the past in the rain..it's very easy to get the car sideways...

The irony of that is, of course,is that Jesus (at least the Christian depiction of him) had long hair...kind of the proto-hippie look w/ the beard and sandals.

I've come close to getting married twice, and may yet get married at some future point..but I have no interest in children. The world is over populated the way it is... I'll stick with terriers, they are little and poop in the house, but easier to care for than kids...

It's wierd, but I've been approached and annoyed by young Jesus freaks twice on the Santa Monica Pier...once I was waiting for my then-g/f to come out of the Bubba Gump restauant, another time looking at the very cool Yahoo! custom '61 Olds 88 that was on display (Labour Day weekend, 2004). They come up and ask if I have a personal relationship with Jesus.. I think I said something to the affect that I was a secular humanist functional realist and that I was a wannabe Jew (my ex-g/f is Jewish). These people really irritate me with their presumptousness...

While out driving this afternoon, I was doing a bit of radio channel surfing and caught the end of 'Prairie Home Companion'...apparently, the show has Toyota as a sponsor, 'cause Garrison Keillor was saying something to the effect that Toyota has increased the production of the Prius, making it easier than ever to get yourself one. Hmmm.... the bastion of upper Midwestern square has sold out! (I'd picture GK being more of a staid Oldsmobile or Volvo man than a Pious driver)..

As for tea, I learned to drink it as a kid, always Liptons (that's all my mom served). Years later, when I first went to the UK, I discovered the English way--cream in first, then the tea. I love tea done the English way, and occasionally will go for tea time at an English shop here....afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones and clotted cream... ah, a gray rainy day in London with tea is better than a year of sunny days in Denver, I think.. At my last company, I used to join my Indian colleagues for a cuppa every afternoon. I also like Vietnamese iced tea, Chai, and green tea. I've tried stronger coffees...developed a taste for Italian espressos, but the thick Turkish style doesn't sit well w/ me.

I always liked the Lincoln LSC and the '87-88 T-Bird Turbo Coupe...I came close to buying a clean used LSC when I got out of college in the early '90s...looked at a few Turbo Coupes also.

yep...they are here..none in Denver, though. They have one in Coshocton, Ohio, that I go to everytime I'm back in eastern Ohio visiting family. Love their coffee and donuts. Other Canadian chains I like include The Keg steakhouses, Western Pizza, Earls, and Boston's Pizza. Got one of each of those here in the Denver metro, except for Western Pizza, which I get when I'm in Phoenix. Having worked for and with Canadians for almost 5 years, I've become quite the fan of Canadian stuff...from Rush, to Ford Panther-platform models, to hockey..

I don't think I'd want anything from '86 today..most cars from the '80s are rusted out and/or worn out today..it was an era not known for quality.

And at about the same time as the T-bird, they came out with the Sierra for Europe, and the Tempo and Topaz for the US... I liked Ford's '80s aero cars, they definitely stood out in comparison to the styleless, look-alike FWD boxes GM and Chrysler were churning out in those days...

I can't imagine life without caffeine. I've pretty much cut out sodas, but I still drink coffee and tea. Software development requires a level of concentration and intensity that I can achieve only with caffeine. During the week, I'm usually up by 5:30, fix a cup of coffee before I leave to prepare for the commute, then another cup or two at the office before 9. Around 2-3, I usually have another cup or a cup of tea to stay conscious through the afternoon. I try and avoid caffeine after 5 pm, or else it interferes w/ my sleep (even with my sleeping pills, I have trouble). On the weekend, I sleep in until 7 and have one cup of coffee in the morning...without coffee, by around 10 am I have a nasty headache..

Those high-mileage money pits will kill you...it's like flushing your money down the toilet.

I have friends that were like that in their wild and crazy youth. But you now have a stable job, starting a family..time to settle down eventually w/ a minivan and a FWD family sedan (Malibu, Camry, etc).

That Cascades train route looks fun...I've taken long-distance rail trips in Europe, but never in the US. I want to take the California Zephyr sometime--from Denver to Emeryville, Ca. I have friends in Oakland, so this would be a fun way to go out to visit (not as cheap as flying Southwest, but more fun).

SUVs... my last new car was my '00 Grand Cherokee...I'm not sure what my next new car purchase will be, either a sports car for fun, or a luxury car or sports sedan for a daily driver. If I ever buy a FWD family sedan, minivan, or truck then I've lost my sanity..

I guess gas prices aren't high enough yet for Americans to think like the ROW.

A friend of mine lives in Marietta, says it's pretty nice...but I haven't been there.

Dallas has the same problem with ice storms, or so I've heard (my sister worked 6 months in Dallas and had to deal w/ ice storms a few years ago). Portland is the same way, I got stuck in an awful ice storm there a couple of years ago...it's weird these cities that don't invest in salt trucks, snow plows, etc.
