  1. Cool..cool... I miss Europe...I must get across the pond next year...been too long since I was last in Europe (3 years). One of the sharpest wagons/wagon-like vehicles I remember from my '03 Italy trip was a black Opel Signum in traffic outside the Collesium in Rome....across the street from the Collesium was a dark blue Tahoe with a dark gray Trail Blazer parked behind it..they looked HUGE amidst typical compact European cars....
  2. Looking at the greenhouse, the overall shape reminds me of a scrunched up, stubbier ES.
  3. noo Foo Fighters CD...
  4. I noticed the beltline...my first thought was that it reminds me of a disguised Dodge Avenger.
  5. I wonder if the diesel will be available in the US.
  6. I know..I was joking...and I wouldn't want one of these little cars unless gas prices went WAAAY up and/or my income went WAAAY down. In fact, I've long wanted a classic American land yacht, and my next car may likely be one of the last of the land yachts that are still in production...heck, they get better mileage than my current daily driver Jeep.

    Hail

I've been lucky to avoid hail damage here in Colorado over the last 10 years...we are known for big hail storms. Most of the last 5 years I had a parking garage at work, so my cars never sat out during the day. Alas, my new job doesn't have a parking garage, so maybe the law of averages will catch up with me eventually...

    Lucerne MCE

Maybe the Super fascia will be applied across the line, as they did with the LaCrosse.
  9. I saw a bit of it... looked like it has potential. I remember the original series from childhood, looks like the plot of this one is quite different. Good to see Miguel Ferrer (sp?) again..he's a good at villian/tough guy roles...who was the scary butch blonde woman with the square head?
  10. The late model GP sales are something like 75% to fleets?
  11. I always ask them to hold the pickle slices at sandwich places..I don't like pikles. I go out for bagel breakfast sandwiches and have to be very specific about the cheese...Einstein Bagels for some reason defaults on cheddar, which is ok on hamburgers, but out of place on a breakfast bagel...I usually want Pepper Jack or Provolone.
  12. In recent years I've stayed with Hertz for personal use-- I've had a lot of Tauruses (maybe 10 times), Sables (5 times), Grand Marquis (4 times), Mustang convertibles (5 times), and Town Cars (4 times). The Grand Marquis or Town Car is now my preferred car of choice for rentals. Over the past 5 years, I used Avis for work trips: 3 Grand Ams, 2 Malibus, 3 Impalas, 1 Monte Carlo, 1 Grand Prix. Around 99-2002, I almost always rented an Intrepid( probably a dozen times), LHS, or Concorde, or 300M. My first car rental ever was a '95 Ciera in Washington DC in '95. Oddities/1 timers I've had include an '04 Ford Thunderbird convertible, an '00 Camaro convertible, an '05 350Z, a Subaru Legacy, a Mazda Protege, a '99 Cougar, a '99 Crown Victoria (black--looked like an FBI car), a couple Focuses, a Neon (horrible--above 45 mph it vibrated terribly), an Escort, and a Contour, a couple of Sebring convertibles, 1 Cavalier (ugh).
  13. Beans...I can't handle black or pinto beans in burritos or with Mexican food in general (beans give me evil black poo). But I have no problem with white beans or beans in chili. I always ask for very little ice also.
  14. I'd rather have them running the country than the Jesus freak/gun kook right wingers that have f*cked it up over the last 6+ years...
  15. Yes, he's trapped in 20th century thinking and can't evolve into the 21st. The future is cars like the Fit, Prius, Agyo, Smart, etc. It's inevitable. The Fit is go!
  16. Makes sense...need room for the coffee and bottled water. Now if the cupholders were chilled, heated, lighted and with removable liners for cleaning, life would be perfect.
  17. It's a monospace and from the future...we can't understand it right now...but in time, it will be comprehended. A production version of the Chevy Beat concept would be a good competitor for the Fit, I think.
  18. The Heartbeat of Avis. or: Pontiac: Rent American.
  19. New Fit is go! With the radical futurtastic styling, it needs a hybrid.

    Heroes

I've not seen it..I have some fiends that rave about it, though...never watched 'Lost' either. BBC America is my current favorite network...I'm enjoying 'Doctor Who', 'Torchwood' (which has some similar aspects to my favorite show of the '90s, 'The X-Files'), 'Top Gear', 'MI-5', etc. Normally, I'm not a big sci-fi or fantasy fan, but I'm finding the modern Doctor Who and Torchwood very appealing...
  21. I've seen some interesting stories posted elsewhere, may be urban legends, about guys going to the ER with such things as an arse load of dried concrete mix, lighbulbs, TV remotes, PVC pipe, etc..
  22. I wonder how Canadian law works on buying cars in the US and taking them back..is that legal? I know my Canadian friends that came down here ended up taking their Canadian cars back to Canada to sell when they were ready to replace them..said they couldn't sell them in the US. I know a few still driving around here in Denver with Canadian cars, registered here, but still w/ metric speedometers, etc..
  23. I suspect there are more states that do require them than those that don't...it's just not a west coast thing either, Ohio requires two, Colorado does, NY does, MA, etc... I wouldn't mind 2 plates as much if we had the wide, slim European style plates, they look better on the front than our large plates, IMHO.
  24. Yeah, those union barbarians would probably turn violent..
  25. Kind of the 'any press is good press' thinking? I can't see a strike being anything but a negative for GM...
