  1. Probably just wanted to invite you over to watch gladiator movies..
  2. My brother has probably 100 or so 8-tracks, from back in the day...his '69 Fairlane has an original 8 track player... he's finally catching up with the late 20th century, though..his truck has a CD player and he's finally converting his cassette collection to CDs..
  3. I like the Marauder alot..I wouldn't mind one of those either...
  4. I'm seriously thinking of getting one these as my next daily driver...kind of the anti-Prius..they are such a bargain for one that's a year or two old..
  5. Return of the Mack- Mo'Reece Marks
  6. Speaking of your 'neighbors with Toyotas' thread, I've ridden w/ 3 different coworkers in their Priuses several times this year, and they've asked me if I want to drive it, and told me that I really should get one.. I'm not going to let peer pressure make me go green... (though I did buy SUVs back when all my friends were buying them, but I still believe in the usefulness of SUVs).
  7. Arguing about the B-pillar is as stupid and pointless as arguing about the # of cupholders would be..as long as it has at least 2 cupholders, I'd be happy...and the irony is the guy the most upset about the B-pillar is someone who would never buy a new car, so his opinion is essentially pointless...
  8. That's a clever design... it would be nice to see more car makers do something like that...
  9. I got out of Michigan in '97 after grad school...I saw no future there, the economy was weak there then. I couldn't imagine spending 15-20 years at one place... in my industry (software) staying more than 3-5 years in one company is a rarity..people have to make career choices and drive their career forward for themselves and not expect a company, any company, to keep things on track.
  10. Remember, the Camaro is a populist fun car, though..it has to appeal to a wide majority, from base 6 cyl models to the more focused big V8 models..it's not the Corvette.
  11. Those are the wheels my sister's '85 500SEL had. Silver, dark blue leather interior. Had 175k when she bought it in '01 and over 200k when she sold it a couple of months ago. Fun car to bomb around Phoenix in, I always enjoyed driving it.

    Que es CIB?
  13. I'll admit though I despise MS technology and products, I've made a nice return on MS stock myself...better than my Sun or Apple stock. (I'm still a hardcore UNIX guy at heart, so I could never love Windows).
  14. I scored 92%. Missed the constitution year also.. 1776 was the Declaration of Independence..I had forgotten that the Constitution came 11 years later. I missed the # of years Senators are elected for...thought it was 4.
  15. Looks like it will have frameless door glass, like every Camaro in history..that's a nice touch on a coupe.
  16. Cool..looks like a nice old Benz...looks like it is missing the hood ornament. I remember reading somewhere that MB used huge steering wheels because it's easier to steer if the power steering failed. My sister's '85 500SEL had the same wheel.
  17. Toyota is like Microsoft or the Borg... resistance is futile..you will be assimilated.. Time to trade the GMC on a Tundra so you can fit in your neighbourhood.
  18. I suspect his reaction will be similar to that kid that made the YouTube video defending Britney from the press... lots of screaming, crying and whining...
  19. No big deal..and besides, the convertible won't have a b-pillar.
  20. Wow...the car looks very solid. The '71-76 B/Cs I remember seeing in Ohio & Michigan in the '80s-90s were invariably really rough, rusted out, battered...likewise most of the ones I remember from S. Florida (salt air rust). A buddy in high school had a pretty clean '76 Electra coupe, but it had been repainted... I've seen very few of these cars around here in the last decade, the occasional Impala/Caprice lowrider, and that's about it.
  21. Hmmm..very limited color choices, inside and out. And no manual transmission. Dissapointing.
  22. Interesting..it happened on CO 82 over Independence Pass...I'm going for a drive there tommorow to see the fall color... it's a windy, twisty road that narrows to one lane in a couple places (on a shelf along a cliff).
  23. I wonder if they staged that by partially unbolting the Tundra bed from the chassis...
  24. Heh heh...the hypocrisy of it all... Found this also on Jalopnik about Jim Press--- "Press has always loved cars. He built his first go-cart at age seven, got his first car when he was 12. At age 13, he started washing cars at his family's dealership in Kansas. But he said he never bought a Toyota or Lexus. The only vehicle he owns is a Yamaha motorcycle. But he'll soon be driving Chrysler vehicles."
