  1. There's a big price difference between the two, so I'm not sure the point of these apples vs. oranges arguments...the Accord and STS are in two different market segments.
  2. Well, I'm sure he's under an NDA and can't spread rumours about insider knowledge. And he's got his own twisted agenda and probably gets off on messing with our heads.. Anyway, if this is true about the Alpha, it doesn't bode well for Pontiac and I can't see the strategy of having a compact RWD sedan between the Cobalt and Malibu...just seems to be too much for Chevy.
  3. Well, it seems PCS with his tick-tock has some inside info as to Pontiac's future... and with Pontiac part of the Pontiac-Buick-GMC structure, it wouldn't be that hard to phase out..
  4. It would make sense that Chevy get it instead of Saturn (if Pontiac is indeed going the way of Oldsmobile).
  5. Maybe he thinks it's still 1959 and the cold war is still going on... his rants are usually irrational and devoid of reality in general...
  6. The Accord interior in two-tone tan w/ the wood looks quite nice, almost as nice as a TL. FWD family sedans aren't really my genre, but if I went mainstream suburbia the Accord would be fine for me as a daily driver commuter car..
  7. No smilie needed... I've really never heard of doing that... (I've only owned one automatic, never added tranny fluid--the shop takes care of that when I go in for maintenance).
  8. Here's one on ebay that's salvagable...kind of denty..
  9. There has been plenty of snow in the high country this season so far, but very little here in the Denver metro area...one at mid October, one last week...a little accumulation, but it melts off in a day or so...supposed to be a dry, mild winter here, which would be a nice change after the horror of last winter (big storm every week from late Dec to early March).
  10. Cool..I haven't seen one of those in years...the Le Sabre and Electras of that era were probably the nicest looking late '80s FWD GMs IMHO...I esp. liked the 2dr roofline. Too bad they had those stupid door-mounted seat belts.
  11. In some areas, maybe...SUVs of all shapes and sizes are very common as daily drivers around here..they are a staple of suburbia in the Denver metro area.
  12. The gas guzzler taxes should be applied also to all the obese full size trucks and SUVs that struggle to get 15 mpg..
  13. HOLDEN LIVES Cool... I had typed in PCS's phrase...looks like one of the admins has tweaked the site to filter out PCS's stupid buzzphrase..
  14. It is a production vehicle...will be available for 3 yr leases in So Cal in '08..
  15. Interesting...never heard of filling the trans via the dipstick.
  16. That's even better...
  17. Meh...looks like way too much work. I just buy the Duraflame logs for my fireplace.
  18. You won't need 400hp when gas gets to $5 a gallon...just quit yer whinin' and get a sensible commuter car like everybody else (Prius, Corolla, Camry, Civic, Accord, etc..)
  19. Reading between the lines, I think PCS means in a few years the Pontiac-Buick-GMC dealers will become Buick-GMC dealers when Pontiac goes the way of Oldsmobile..
  20. The C&G curse hit me a couple of weeks ago, in a minor way. My Jeep got broken into when I was at a movie... had to replace the driver's window and 2 CDs and a tire gauge that were stolen.
  21. Uh-huh..more like a messenger of the Devil (not that I believe in any of that heaven/hell/God/Devil stuff.. I'm a rational, secular atheist).
  22. Except for premium import luxury models, sports cars, trucks and SUVs, V8s haven't really been a high volume option in the US market in many years....currently, the domestics offer V8s in a few niche performance models (Mustang, GTO, G8) and a few larger sedans (Grand Marquis, STS, DTS, Lucerne, Town Car, 300C, Magnum, Charger).
  23. The press has always tested top of the line models... the base models just aren't interesting enough to talk about..
  24. I've had several '80s Fords with the trunk release in the glovebox... For modern cars, I like the trunk/hatch release on the fob.
  25. I saw an '08 CTS last night...the first one I've seen.... looked great....silver...unfortunately, it was at night and in traffic, so I couldn't see it very closely..
