  1. I'm not worried...I'm not one of these 'the sky is falling' worriers... a 35mpg average could be met with widespread use of diesels... there is no reason 75% or more of SUVs and trucks couldn't be diesels--the full size trucks and SUVs are the real gas hogs now. Cars of all sizes could be diesels, and with a mix of hybrids and or fuel cell vehicles for the remainder. This is not pie-in-sky either---look all the diesels offered in Europe now (BMW even has diesel coupes and convertibles).
  2. I like it...I like the fastback instead of the usual SUV roofline. I'd take one over an X5.
  3. I'd recommend the Goodyear Forteras.. I bought a set last month for my Grand Cherokee. Been happy w/ them so far, and they've been great in the snow and rain around here this month. The other tire I had considered was the Michelin LTX.
  4. Diesels are part of the answer, I think... I'll always have V8 fun cars for weekend use, but for daily driving, I'd be happy in the future w/ a diesel SUV or diesel luxury sedan.
  5. Yeah..it does. Cadillac has the same suspension level names also w/ the CTS?
  6. Reading about the V6/manual possible configuration, I'm thinking I can't recall when (other than Cadillac) there was a 4dr, 6-cyl, manual, RWD model offered by a domestic automaker...nothing in the last 25 years that I can think of..
  7. Hmmm...wierd. I wonder if this is an April 1 type of thing..
  8. There was another Toyotathon ad where a guy dropped a steel beam on an old Chevy truck. And another where some people rolled a boulder down a mountain onto an Explorer.
  9. I'd chip in..
  10. Tuesday was pretty messy here...supposed to snow again Friday. My new tires (Goodyear Forteras) did work well in the snow and slush, though.
  11. Saw an interesting sight this morning in traffic. I'm sitting at light and watch a semi with car hauler w/ 8 or so cars turn through the intersection in front of me..most of the load was typical late model cars, but at the top back of the hauler was a derelict '65 Pontiac convertible...pale yellow w/ a lot of rust, no rear bumper, no top...I think it may have been a 2+2 as it had louvers on the front fender. Hopefully on it's way to be restored..
  12. There's a decent winter storm going on here today..
  13. Hmmm...so are GM and Nissan doing a van together? Maybe they could do one for the US...this could make an interesting Chevy or GMC..
  14. Been snowing off an on all day here in Denver..down to 12 degrees now.
  15. probably had lame tires...even w/ FWD, snow tires are useful..
  16. A buddy of mine bought a blue G37 last month..6sp manual. I went for a ride a couple of weeks ago in it, pretty sweet car..
  17. Sure it does...those are the targets, obviously...
  18. The future isn't going to be pretty...
  19. And they were severe rusters and the most recalled car until the X cars (and IIRC the K-cars then trumped the X cars for recalls).
  20. Looks fantastic...serious, subtle, luxury and performance.
  21. Lovin' it..these are great.
  22. I'm liking that show...have seen just the two episodes this week, so I'm missing the back story of the earlier episodes..I see that NBC has some episodes on their website..will have to catch up.
  23. Agreed... a little CDO and passion is a good thing..
  24. MacGyver's coming to DVD? Cool..I was a big fan back in the day.
  25. These are first I've seen undisguised....looks great.
