  1. True...I would say Chrysler has no badge-engineered models currently (except for the Sprinter, though the MB it's BE-ed from isn't sold here, and maybe the minivans). It's not like the '90s when there was a Dodge and Plymouth Neon and the midsize models (Cirrus/Stratus/Breeze) had identical metal, with only different grilles/taillights... The Aspen/Durango are about as differentiated as the Tahoe/Yukon...just enough to not be truly badge-engineered.
  2. Great TG segment..neat little car.
  3. These are great...keep 'em coming.
  4. 50 cents on a gallon isn't much, though. The government wastes billions on pointless wars, why not spend some on infrastructure?
  5. Mmmm....squishy plastics. One thing I wish more makers would do is not just use soft plastics on the dash top, but on the door panels, center console and lower dash...I hate the rock-hard cheap plastics in those areas in so many vehicles today..
  6. Maybe Chrysler can hook up with VW.... DCX didn't work, maybe they need to try another German partner..
  7. Nothing wrong with that..esp. if the tax were used for road construction, energy research, etc..
  8. Interesting...I just noticed that the inner headlights have the turn signals/parking lights in them... and they put driving lights in the fascia where the turn signals were on the '70.
  9. Or like Burt Rutan or Dick Rutan I think it doesn't mean anything, made up to sound like their other models--Tiguan, Sharan, Touran.
  10. I'm hoping Obama gets in, though I'd be happy with Hillary...I'd love to see a Democrat in the White House..the Republitards had 8 years to royally f*ck things up, we need change...
  11. Yeah, Chrysler always had an element of strange, which is kind of endearing...since the Challenger is a retro '70s car, I'd love to see apple green paint with a dark green vinyl top as an option...
  12. It's a compact wagon, not a compact SUV or crossover, though.
  13. True..as far as motorsport goes, NASCAR is pretty irrelevant.
  14. Preferred features in a vehicle for me are: mechanical: traction control electronic stability control ABS w/ 4 wheel disc brakes IRS front, side curtain, side airbags V6, I6 or V8 manual transmission decent fuel economy (at least 20 highway) interior content: heated/cooled leather power seats am/fm/cd player w/ iPod jack sunroof rear defroster rear wiper (on SUVs) heated outside power mirrors full set of analog gauges RWD, AWD or 4WD good plood or real wood interior trim solid, fixed cupholders (ideally, lighted/heated/chilled) Things I can live without: NAV automatic tranny dual-zone climate control FWD carbon fiber interior trim gray interiors memory settings
  15. Interesting..so will the GXP offer more power over the GT?
  16. Maybe...I think Romney would be a better VP choice...Huckabee is a scary southern religious conservative, while McCain is a western moderate...Romney is more of a professional business-oriented fiscal conservative and presents a more palatable combination, I think.
  17. I had wondered if their goal is a separate luxury channel...'Genesis' could work as a brand name, with a couple models under it... Hyundai the brand has so long been associated with cheap FWD generics in the US, that it's a hard sell as an entry-lux brand, I think..
  18. I would be really surprised if McCain picked him as VP...they seem so different, I can't see them on the same ticket..but who knows.
  19. Amazing...you do see all views, though..I was chatting about Nascar with 3 coworkers yesterday, all of whom are much bigger fans than I am...and they drive Hondas, Toyotas, and Acuras..not a domestic car owner in the group.
  20. So Romney's gone...I was surprised he dropped out so soon after Tuesday, but mathematically he can't catch up to McCain in the remaining primaries...so when will Huckabee quit? Interesting developments..
  21. I'm wondering if they will downsize the next Equinox to cover the small crossover market..
  22. True, the driving experience is what it's all about....but in my world, commuting is part of daily life...I want a car that's good at both the slog and the occasional weekend mountain road fun drive...and creature comforts definitely help out with commuting. That's one of the things I love about BMWs is that they are great at both. American cars should be that way also...
  23. Yeah, if you look at the pics, the rear overhang is noticably longer on the Traverse..
  24. The key word there is 'were'. It's not 1970 anymore....
  25. Fine... I want mine loaded, you want yours stripped.... that's what option lists are for.
