I couldn't care less about the 50s, but as recent as the 80s-90s there were a lot more interior color choices in mainstream cars, not just luxury cars. Lots of red interiors then also. My '86 Mustang LX had a red interior...
-
A lot of it is context also...in a daily driver sedan or SUV I want a light interior (not gray). In a sports car, my ideal is a two-tone like black and red.
-
I like these Lincoln Aviator interiors..some dark trim, but lots of light.. This Cadillac XT5 interior isn't bad either. Light interior w/ a big sunroof would be optimal. (I like lots of light in a climate w/ a lot of cloudy days).
-
Yeah, that lime green is gross...like athletic wear or something. I do like the cranberry red and black two tone option.

I didn’t say anything about price, not a factor. I was comparing dimensions. Seems like Rivian is more like a 3 row midsize SUV than a full size. No one is going to cross shop a Rivian with a Tahoe either. An EV customer wouldn’t be considering ICE products.

Lincoln has a nice selection of interior color choices.

Seems like GM really cheaps out on interior color choices unless you spring for an Cadillac higher trim or Corvette...too many blah black and dark gray cave interiors..

chevrolet ev Info Updates on Chevrolet EV's
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Chevrolet
Back on topic, it does seem the mainstream makers are getting to the point of normalizing EV design rather than making them weird to be different and stand out. It will be interesting to see how the production Chevy EVs look. -
Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Nah..I usually drive a couple miles every week. -
Nothing... and he compared the truck version wheelbase w an SUV..invalid comparison. The R1S has a 5 inch longer wheelbase than the Tahoe, 2 inches longer than the Durango.

The Rivian R1S SUV outside dimensions are very similar to the Durango. Probably a better size comparison than the Tahoe.

Nice, but way too dark and gloomy.

GMC seems to have a very limited color palette inside and out...interiors in black or dark gray....barf.

At BP stations, gasoline fuel filler nozzles are green.

This Avalanche front plate is nice, a bit pricey.. https://www.etrailer.com/License-Plates-and-Frames/DWD-Plastics/312770.html Now that Ohio no longer requires a front plate, I've thought of getting a Jeep plate for my Jeep...

Ultium is also a brand of Purina horse feed. https://www.purinamills.com/horse-feed/products/detail/purina-ultium-competition-horse-formula I was thinking Ultima was a battery brand, but that's Optima.. -
Interactive Review: 2020 Volvo V60 T8 Polestar
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Since probably no one but auto reviewers is going to be taking a Volvo to a track, having a top speed over 100mph makes little sense outside of Germany...and the days are numbered for the high speed limits in Germany I've read.- 36 replies

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
I've filled up twice since January. And wasn't below a 1/4 each time. With working from home and self-quarantining, I've had no reason to go out this year except for occasional local trips. Now last year w/ working from home but normal driving, I drove about 6000 miles. 2018 was similar. -
Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
This year so far I've put maybe 350 miles on my Jeep...and I've been working from home for 3+ years, but this year is unusual... quite different from back in the early 00s where I once put 12k miles on my old Jeep in one year. -
I've liked Chipotle for over 20 years, used to go to the original location in Denver. 'Chipotle Friday' (or Thursday) was a tradition at several companies I've worked at over the years...used to go to the one at Scottsdale Rd and Camelback every week for years.

I have a good local taco joint less than a mile from my house..run by a family from San Bernardino, seems like what I remember as authentic So Cal tacos...in NE Ohio.

I liked Del Taco in AZ...maybe more so than Taco Bell..
