  1. Yeah, they were probably afraid of dominating the police car/taxi market with the Impala..
  2. I wonder how much the budget is of GM's cup holder R&D department...

  4. I like manuals also, but automatics make more sense in heavy traffic (like rush hour gridlock on California's 405 or 880, both of which I've sat through on occasion). That's pretty recent...there are cars from the early '90s without cupholders, and most '80s cars didn't have them.
  5. Make a Prius sound like a Dodge Ram diesel accelerating...

  7. Interesting..I hadn't tried the board with them turned off...it's a lot easier to read the threads without the huge sigs..
  8. Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith from The Matrix movies) could have made an interesting KITT voice...given it a creepiness like the HAL 9000 in 2001.
  9. Similar here in Denver, though the market is heavily skewed towards SUVs.... as far as cars go, loads of AWD Audis and Subarus in particular. Though I still see a lot of domestic SUVs, esp. Jeeps.
  10. I'm looking forward to seeing the A5/S5 in person. I've long been an Audi fan----first noticed them with the original Coupe Quattro and the radical '83 5000 in Road & Track and then built the Tamiya 1:24th scale kit. (I don't think I ever saw an Audi in person until I started living in S. Florida in '82). I even considered buying a A4 1.8T Quattro back in 2000. I love the design and interior of the A8 in particular; I've thought a2004-2005 A8 would make a great daily driver.. I have several friends with A4s, and they have had mixed results with them...several had recall issues that were common to all the 1.8s (ignition or something?).

  12. Interesting..I wonder if they will sell the Camaro there. I know the Astro has a cult following in Japan, but I don't know if it was ever officially sold there. (interestingly, the only 1:24th scale model kits made of Astros are from Fujimi, a Japanese model company).
  13. Sounds plausable... G--->Z.
  14. I like that color... 'B5 Blue' is a name of similar color from the Mopar glory days..
  15. I have an Australian Terrier, 8 years old, named Nauti...(Naughty or Nice is her full name, nicknamed Nauti-P, Peeper, and Nipper). She was a champion show dog when she was younger. Very lively, lots of personality...10 pounds of terror.. She craves attention and is clingy...I'm sitting here watching CNN with the laptop and she's curled up against my hip..
  16. massive doo (vindaloo (spicy) ---> skip to my loo (loo=toilet) ---> massive doo)
  17. I remember that type of glovebox door..not very useful as a cupholder, unless you drill it out so the cups can be held securely..
  18. If anything, I'd add some models to Saturn...like the Astra estate and Astra Twin Top.. maybe the Corsa, Meriva and Zafira also.

  21. Couldn't have gotten corporate sponsorship with that, though..
  22. Apparently not...now Knight Rider might have been good if they had had someone cool like Vin Diesel as the star..
  23. They sell a few Caddies there, though..aren't Cadillacs the car of choice of successful Yakuza?
  24. Web (Web Services)
  25. I've never had an issue w/ that arrangement in my Jeep, but it's an automatic, so I don't shift much (and the armrest is high relative to the cupholders). I can't stand the flimsy pop-out ones that some cars have that block the HVAC or radio controls when in use...
