  1. I had a good, but busy, Easter weekend. Flew to Dayton Friday night, hung out w/ my sister there on Saturday, went down to Cincinnati (great views from the riverfront) and saw Bruce Springsteen in concert Saturday night (rock on!), then drove across the state (in a rental Jetta from Hertz) for Easter dinner w/ my mom, brother & sister, then back to Dayton and back to Denver this evening. Good weather overall, though some snow flurries Sat in Dayton.
  2. fsck (Wikipedia entry on the word..)
  3. 'In the Evening'--Led Zeppelin...love the riff in that song.
  4. I'd love to see the CTC in black cherry...love that color!
  5. My best years in my life are the here and now and the future yet to come.... looking back too much and dwelling on the past isn't healthy, so I'm looking forward.... I've enjoyed each phase of my life so far (childhood in Ohio/PA, jr high & high school in Florida, college in Ohio, grad school hell in Michigan, 20s-30s professional growth era in Colorado, late 30s transition to Arizona that I'm starting now).. I enjoy looking at old cars at car shows and occasionally driving my oldies, but I much prefer modern cars for daily use...
  6. The French names go waaaay back in their history--Chevrolet, Cadillac..
  7. Looks interesting...I wonder if this is on a GM platform (seems to be Epsilon sized). Suzuki Kizashi
  8. Yeah, the Kappas are sub 3k and the Camaro will be closer to 4k...?
  9. 1970. I was born in June of that year... I'd love to have been around then and had serious coin, for the cars and the music. Cars like the '70 Challenger, '70 Cuda, '70 1/2 Camaro and Firebird, '70 Grand Prix, '70 GTO, '70 Mustang Mach 1,'70 Ford XL, '70 Marauder, '70 Cyclone and Torino, etc and the sleek new B- and E- bodies for '71 that came out in the fall ('71 Riviera and Impala in particular) would have definitely got my attention...
  10. They have them in the West also... pizza & sub places often have 'em, as do chains like Old Chicagos...
  11. Yes, just like software projects..sometimes teams of people can spend years building something that ends up a commercial and critical failure. Such is the nature of the business. Not every car is praise-worthy...
  12. Yep, and 20 years from now it will be well remembered, people will be driving them and restoring them, while the '04-08 W-body GPs will be going to the crusher..
  13. I had my Cheesesteak and TastyKake today..at Pat's...probably the most authentic cheesesteak @ 5280. Had Thai (chicken panang curry) for dinner @ my favorite local Thai place, Thai Spice.
  14. Would be an interesting little hot hatch here, esp. if Dodge does a Breeze SRT4.
  15. Pontiac is American. The Pontiac G8 is thus American. Let me rephrase, it's a US North American market RWD model. Does that fit your f@#king narrow-ass definitions????
  16. And a lot of them are just silly kids that can't even afford a new car, let along a $30k+ one...
  17. I saw a new Impreza today... ugly little runt.
  18. Don't be an ass...GM owns Holden. Pontiac is an American brand.
  19. True...but at least the Brougham and Catera were RWD, not the usual GM FWD generics..
  20. Hmmm..not exactly..Cadillac never gave up RWD.
  21. Hmmm...Breeze as in a flattus emission? Breeze isn't a violent name, though (since most of Dodge's current lineup has violent names)... maybe Tornado SRT4 would work..
  22. I'm not in the target market for it, the G8 sedan is more to my taste...but it's a nice addition to the lineup, IMHO. In a world of generic, disposable FWD transportation modules, a new car from an North American market brand with RWD and V8 should be cherished as something worthwhile, IMHO.
  23. The things I didn't like about the '90s B-bodies were the wierd tippy-toe look some had (wider body than the older B-bodies, but still with the old track) and the huge, deep dash and ginormous windshield... I like the Panthers more overall...I'm pretty familiar with the '90s Town Cars (my dad had 2 of 'em) and they are pretty smooth and comfortable to drive (and I've driven a lot of the Grand Marquis and recent Town Cars as rentals in the last few years).
  24. True, different demographic. It would be interesting if GM would offer a compact, AWD performance sedan like the WRX/Evo but that's another story for another thread...
  25. Sounds reasonable. Maybe something like: 360hp V8 in an SS 400 hp V8 in a Z28 500 hp V8 (ZR1 or CTS-v motor) in a ZL1 or other top trim
