  1. There's a live police chase on an OC freeway now on CNN, white 2007 Yukon..blasting along passing everything, in and out of HOV lanes.. on the SB 405...up to 105 mph. Stolen apparently. Female driver. Britney making a run? Apparently been all over the place for over an hour--I-5, 605, 57, etc.. They are saying stolen rental from Anaheim. OnStar is getting several name checks...apparently, the rental agency called OnStar and OnStar called the police. The reporters asked if OnStar can remotely disable the car... Now on I-5 near Dana Point..must be making a run for Mexico. Now the talking heads are joking about the gas mileage and that it had a full tank, but at these speeds it will run out soon Talking about ONStar's advantage again. Now in San Diego county... I wonder if this will end at the Mexican border checkpoint.
  2. Though the Lucerne is actually listed at under 3800 lbs, so who knows. I wonder if using a modern drivetrain combo (3.6 w/ DI, 6sp auto) instead of the ancient stuff (pushrod V6, 4spd auto) would result in better mileage...
  3. Hmmm...the changes must be pretty subtle..I can't really see any difference from the current model.
  4. I drove a Vectra diesel a few years ago in northern Italy, it seemed quite nice... better than the US FWD GMs I've driven from Avis here in the States...
  5. I' m looking forward to seeing how the rear of the hatch looks...will there be a wagon also?
  6. Reminds me of something bizzaro from Sbarro.
  7. No...FWD would be wrong for a future Cadillac...leave FWD to Buick and SAAB.
  8. Rush--"Snakes and Arrows Live"--new double live CD set.
  9. Maybe..but that's at least 5 years out...who knows what the GM fleet will be like then.
  10. Yeah..sounds familiar, but I just can't place it..
  11. Ahh..never heard one referred to that way. I love the style of those Eldos. Will Ferrell drives one ('69-70, I think) in the movie 'Semi-Pro'.
  12. The more I see of it, the more I like it...very modern and European..should do well as a Saturn. I esp. like the greenhouse, taillights and rear fascia..
  13. There are some incredible cars here...at dinner last night (about 1 mile away) I saw a red F430 spyder and a yellow '72 Montego GT in traffic, saw a silver SL 65 AMG in traffic today... was out in Scottsdale in Wed and saw oodles of high end cars.. have seen 3 Merc G-wagens this week, several different AMGs, lots of blinged 7-series, several M5s and M3s, and several '60s Mustangs and Camaros in regular traffic as well. The thing you have to watch out for with old cars here is the soft trim, rubber seals, etc..the heat and sun kills the interiors on unprotected cars.
  14. Several albums there that are in my collection, many of them favorites like Hysteria, Tunnel of Love, Power Windows, Moving Pictures. I saw the Boss and Bon Jovi last month, and will be seeing Rush again (2nd time at Red Rocks) in June... Rock on!
  15. I thought of you today when I took a walk around the neighborhood...a couple streets over there is a sharp white '62 Caddy 4dr ht, and a block away a goregous '69 Camaro SS ragtop (white w/ black stripes). I will have to take a pic..
  16. My contract in Colorado ended March 31, and I've been down here in Phoenix house sitting from my sister since then.... I've been working the phone and using Monster and Dice since a week ago Monday, had 4 in-person interviews and now have 3 job offers w/ a 4th likely to come tommorow--(1 12 month contract, 1 contract-to-hire, 2 perm positions), another interview tommorow..the job market is much better than I thought it would be here, given the economy as a whole (the software biz seems not too affected by the overall economy currently).
  17. Maybe...it's curb weight is listed as 3855... pretty chubby for a FWD midsizer..
  18. Cadillac has Sigma, though...which supports a V8.
  19. Sitting at a light beside me was a silver SL 65 AMG...drool.
  20. Probably for playing MP3s from a Flash drive. Chrysler's myGig stereos have USB ports, I think..
  21. I still haven't seen one on the road..I'll have to hunt down a Pontiac dealer and look for one.
  22. I think it's more out of lack of choice than a conscious RWD vs FWD decision for most buyers...I see a ton of FWD generics here in Phoenix, where there is no rational reason to choose FWD over RWD. But since probably 95% of the sub-$35K mainstream cars on the market are FWD, that's what the mainstream buyers drive..
  23. Went out to dinner last night and saw a red F430 spyder at a stoplight...sweet.
  24. Razorback? Haven't seen that movie..pls. translate.
  25. I'd go for Regal and save Invicta for a Lucerne replacement (though I'd rather see Electra ressurected for a large car). As long as they don't jump on the alphanumeric bandwagon and call it 'B6'..
