Saw a Tesla a couple of years ago with the license plate 'GARBGE'. I figured that either the driver was a fan of the band Garbage, was in the waste management business, or was named Bob Garbage or something like that.

Those truck beast things are hideous...the Denali badged monster truck looks like a mutant Silverado HD. Love the Caprice image.

Americans in general are too ignorant and self-absorbed to be able to think about the big picture of any issue..

VW News: 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 Is An Affordable German EV
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
I think when I'm older I wouldn't mind living in a city and walk and use public transport to get around to museums, restaurants, theaters, etc and have a fun car for the weekends to go to the beach or the mountains.- 20 replies

Yes, .these compact CUVs are just generic appliances for generic people...nothing for a car enthusiast, just point A to point B products for the masses....- 20 replies

VW News: 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 Is An Affordable German EV

Pretty much the same size as the CX-5, CR-V, Escape and Equinox. Would be interesting to see a comparison in terms of real world usability, range, interior space, cargo capacity, performance, etc... I guess the question is the novel powertrain worth the substantial price hike when comparing equivalent trim levels and content. Just another commodity generic CUV, nothing special, just a lease appliance...- 20 replies

Yeah, they've already gone through their regular A-Z names this season and looped around starting with Alpha then Beta...

Makes me wonder what the similarly sized Trax comes with...and I drove my sister's Trax from Florida to Ohio in January and never thought about a spare.. My next door neighbor's teenage daughter has a black Ecosport.

Yeah, I haven't been in a Dunkin or Tim's in years...I occasionally leave the house and go through the drive thru at Dunkin.. in the before time, my favorite get of the house and enjoy a breakfast place is Bruegger's Bagels...a large coffee and an everything bagel w/ bacon, egg and cheese was a favorite going back 20+ years--used to go to one in Colorado Springs, Denver, Phoenix, and now here. When I was at MCI/Worldcom back in the late 90s, had a coworker that I used to meet up with at 6am at Brueggers once a week for breakfast.. I miss the simple pleasures of the before time.

I like Dunkin also..have two within a mile of me, and a Krispy Kreme a bit farther away. I wish I had a Tim Horton's nearby, oddly there are some in small towns like Coshocton, Ohio and in the Columbus metro area, but none in the Cleveland area. But I get my 3 cups of Tim Horton's dark roast every morning from my Keurig....

I've been avoiding public enclosed spaces since March..really the only place I feel completely safe is in my house or yard... I'm hesitant to get on an airplane or go in a store or restaurant anytime soon..

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Not another potato with wheels like the Bolt... they need something edgy, bold, brash...maybe something with tail fins...maybe a mix of Corvette and Escalade...with a variety of bold, bright colors inside and out, interesting materials inside.. -

Reading reviews from actual customers and people in my local area, etc is more useful than googling randos... -
Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Well, I did get recommendations from Nextdoor, Angie's List and local Facebook groups when I first moved here for finding the electrician, handyman, yard guy, etc. But once I connected w/ them I saved their numbers. Probably talked to a 1/2 dozen lawn services till I found someone who get through my yard gate (it's only 48 inches wide). -

Even better, I have my car dealer, independent repair shop, insurance company, and AAA in my phone as contacts. No googling.. also have my electrician, handyman, plumber, and yard guy in the contacts. -
Love those 70s Blazers. Haven’t seen one in ages.

True. I’ve been driving SUVs for 26 years. But I do like cars also. -

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
With few exceptions, the domestics are already truck and CUV/SUV only, sadly. I like SUVs, but very few of them..no interest in the generic CUVs that dominate the market. And I've never needed or wanted a truck. Oh well... it was good while it lasted, don't know what you have until it's gone... -
Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Every year in recent years I've tried to sit in and check out a variety of new vehicles at the annual local dealer auto show, and the #1 thing I find as a turn off about many new GM vehicles (under $50k or so) are the damn despair gray or charcoal/black GM interiors...so dour and bland, bland, bland. It's better than the Tupperware/Fisher Price shit they had in the 90s-00s, but still nothing special in the design or materials, IMO. Of course, not to knock on GM only, but pretty much everything 'cheap' (< $50k) these days has a gray or charcoal plastic interior. Some execute the plastics better than others, though. -

I like the CT6 and CTS...I could see buying a used one...like the interior and exterior design of both. I can appreciate the styling of the Yukon Denali but I have don't need a full size SUV. They don't have any midsize 2 row SUVs I'd consider over a JGC. The Camaro sounds great as far as the hardware, but the lack of outward visibility, cramped interior, and some styling details make it unappealing to me compared to the Challenger or Mustang. I can appreciate the Corvette for it's performance, like some of the styling aspects, but the rear end is a real turn off in person and in pictures. I'd like to drive one, though. The Colorado and Canyon seem like nice trucks, decent styling, but I'm not a truck guy. As far as a new vehicle, I can't think of anything current from GM I'd seriously consider in my price range, maybe a couple as CPOs. -

A buddy in grad school had a red Pulsar NX--the 2nd gen with the t-tops...it was a lot of fun to zip around in....another friend had a red early 90s Maxima SE...always liked those cars...both manuals.
