Fall back on some car spotting for November

Encore GX. Sized between the Encore and Envision. Buick version of the Chevy Trailblazer. -
Supposedly available as a 'credit option' in the Firebird in '79. Apparently in '78 the Chevy 305 was available in a Formula LT Sport Edition (which I'd not heard of).

The Cragars were definitely a thing on muscle cars and pony cars in the 60s-70s... still popular on those types of cars today for the retro Day 2 look. I'm not a Baby Boomer, but I do like the period muscle car look. The 301 N/A was available in '80-81 in all trim levels I've read..155hp..not quite the low point, but pretty close. there was a Turbo 301 available (210 hp) n the T/A and a Chevy 305 (150hp) also, and apparently in '81 the Pontiac 4.3 (265) V8 w/ 140hp. '80-81 were pretty dreadful years for Pontiac performance...and for performance in general.

The black Trans Am is an '80-81 w/ the 301 and automatic...pretty weak sauce, compared to the nearly-identical looking '79 which was still available w/ the 400 and a 4 spd manual IIRC. (some '79 T/As came w/ the Olds 403 and an automatic, IIRC). The maroon '75 has the Formula hood, would be a 350 or 400..not sure if the 455 was still available in '75. This one is very similar to one my brother had in the late 70s--his was a '75 Formula 400, dark blue w/ the white interior. He had wide Cragar SS wheels on it.

bmw ix BMW News: BMW iX - New Era, New EV Flagship
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in BMW
People can get overly emotional and personal in conversation about consumer products. I really haven't liked BMW since the early 00s. The era of the E36, E38, E39, E46 was a high point for the company as far as the 'Ultimate Driving Machine' ethos, IMO. BMW's product has become more powerful, faster, heavier, far more complex, far less reliable, and less serious as far as driver involvement since then..- 65 replies

Reminds of the E. Ohio backroads I loved exploring in my Mustang long ago....

Well, going in a business and buying something in person is something I haven't done since the before time (February).and I rarely ever use cash...can't remember the last time I used cash...I buy everything online, buy gasoline w/ a card... so it was a novel experience... this is a very, very strange year, after all...

Flagship of the BEV SUVs is how I took it. The X7 is still the Big Dog flagship SUV, until the X8 (coupe SUV) arrives for 2022.- 65 replies

No, didn't even think to look for LEDs. The good thing I did figure out how to take apart the sign to change the bulbs.

Went to my local Ace Hardware this beautiful afternoon and actually had an in-person inside 'shopping experience' for the first time since February, even paid with 'cash' paper money instead of my usual online shopping w/ plastic. It was all strange and new, everyone masked up and 6 feet apart. But I had to do it, because sometimes the only way to find a very specific, strange sized lightbulb is to take the old one and compare with ones hanging on a wall (I was having no luck on Amazon). Now I have two new bulbs for my house number sign on the light post (the old bulbs had burnt out one-by-one since I've lived here). A tiny small, DIY victory amidst a really boring time working from home...

I checked online--in a state of 11.69 million people, EA currently has only 10 stations in Ohio. Two in the Cleveland metro area--in the east and west burbs along I-90. One a couple hours south on I-77. Next one south on I-77 is Wytheville, Va...263 miles between. (I-77 is the typical route I've used in the past coming from/going to Florida, for example).

I like the brick ramblers. After 3 1/2 years in a spilt level w/ 4 levels incl. the basement, I think my next house will be one story...

Heh-heh...my ancestry is mostly English, a tiny bit of Scottish, and some French (Alsace).

Given that he lives in Amish country, maybe he can speak Amish German...

Yard guys came and went...now the pile out front is bigger...piles all up and down the street...the city vacuum trucks supposed to come by this week...

I need to do that with the backyard. I did dump a bunch of soil and reseeded several areas in September and that looks good, but the whole thing needs aerated... I have a couple bald spots at the back of the yard by the fence under the trees because they get so little sunlight and often is underwater after big storms.. this time of the year the backyard is covered in leaves and nuts..so many nuts from the trees.

Not sure if that is allowed in my neighborhood. I wouldn't do it because the smoke would be hell for my allergies. I can use my leaf blower and leaf vacuum/mulcher for only about 5 min at a time before the vibration gets to me (intense pain in my arm and back from using it)...

Ugh...my yard guys should be here later today to blow them into a large pile on the tree lawn, the city is supposed to be around sometime this week w/ the vacuum trucks to pick them up...

6th day in a row w/ high over 70...first time since 1956 for NE Ohio, very unusual. Beautiful weather...lots of leaves..

Here you go...strange, eh? Not a big deal..if I click the icon to the left of the + it shows the latest unread content. This just seems to be the default I'm getting. Maybe it was picking up the Random Threads link. I see this if type in the URL directly rather than let it auto-fill...looks fine.
