Apparently it is Michigan City, Indiana on Lake Michigan.

Was a 2nd sunny 45 degree day in a row, which in unusual for Cleveland in January. Supposed to rain turning to snow tomorrow, colder and snowier over the next week. Had 3 interviews this week, interesting doing them over Zoom and Teams. So far so good.. Work has been up and down this week, mostly quiet but a few meetings because the India team have a bunch of issues w/ an application that has been soft launched...not yet ready for go-live, still a number of issues I'm consulting on. When stuff isn't working, who do they turn to? In my free time, taking a bunch of courses through Linkedin Learning...refreshing myself on some old stuff and getting an overview of some new stuff..

With recent redesigns, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin look and work more similarly than differently...a few times I've had to look closely to realize *which* one I was on.

It is..that is part of why I left there for more cosmopolitan Denver...beautiful place, though. I didn't realize it was so conservative when I moved there, but it was quite a change from Ann Arbor where I moved from. Boulder would have been a good fit for me, but it's become obscenely expensive to live there now.

I'm partial to Sun Microsystems, I've owned a few of their workstations, used them throughout the 90s, they created the Java programming language that I've used for 25 years, and had a couple job offers from them in the 90s (that w/ 20/20 hindsight, should have taken). I put in the MCI Worldcom logo because that is where I started my career, was at MCI before Worldcom bought them...good times in Colorado Springs in the late 90s.

I think I need a small RV/camper...maybe one of those Honda Elements w/ the pop up roof...would be fun to go out on the islands in the summer and go camping. I'm not a tent person.

I'm not going out and about amidst a plague populace...not sure when I will be taking any trips again.

I recall seeing XT6s at the auto show back in Feb or March, but I don't recall seeing one on the road..but 2020 was a strange year and I was on the road very little.

On the subject of corporate logos, here are some of my favorites from the tech industry....some old school, some more recent...love the fonts used on some of these...

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
In some companies, that can be true. I've worked at plenty of companies that are much looser---where you only know the build is broken when you check out the code and try and build locally and it blows up (and the guy that checked in broken code is 12 time zones away). I'd hope the software used in cars is held to a high standard, but I know from experience much of what goes on in corporate America is hit and miss... -
I like variety. I like the occasional sunny day. I enjoy snowy days when I don’t have to go out in it. What is boring is weeks with no variation as I’ve seen in some places...

Sun came out here at noon, beautiful afternoon now.. I love the MCM furniture... have a bunch of it from Arizona, want to use it in the front living room eventually...some needs restored/refinished...a couple pieces came apart in moving.

Had a very nice sunny afternoon yesterday here. Today, back to the regularly scheduled gloom.

I miss Chrysler’s Pentastar logo.

Interesting....the new logo is different. I guess the new look is a attempt to make the company seem more 'youthful' and 'hip' instead of old and stodgy, to attract Gen-Z and Millennial appliance shoppers...just marketing BS...expensive to change if you think about everywhere the logo appears.

That’s a neat deet on that tor. For the mathematically challenged that can’t measure tread depth.

This reminds me of a buddy of mine who is huge model train fan...his whole basement is full of layouts. He and his wife have no kids, but a pair of Siamese..as far as I know, the cats get along ok w/ the trains...

Another trend instead of Matte Black would be bedliner material..would be a unique look. Wraps are popular, but I imagine a wrap on a '59 Buick would be a challenge because of all the contours and creases...

The 4xe drivetrain as seen in the Wrangler 4xe. GC is supposed to get it in a year or two... -
And as always, it's the usual suspect doing it...

There is going to be a hybrid version, so not completely off-topic.. -

I love what I've seen of the new GC interior. And the optional McIntosh stereo... yum. Love the wood trim. Looking forward to seeing the 2 row.
