  1. Went to a concert last night (more 80s nostalgia--British synth pop bands--Haircut One Hundred, ABC, and Howard Jones). Took an Uber down--a black Kia EV6. Lots of legroom in the back, neat styling..pretty quiet and smooth. Chatted w/ the driver about charging adventures. Uber on the way home was a white Honda Accord Hybrid. Comfortable, reasonably spacious in the back. Made a very strange sound when outside..like a humming rather than typical engine sounds.
  2. Taking it easy and resting this weekend after a heavy month at work.. just tired. Got a concert tonight, but plan to rest most of the weekend, do a bit of grilling. Short work week next week then my vacation starting a week from today..
  3. I don't like the '90-92 Brougham because of the door-mounted seatbelts and composite headlights. An '80s one w/ a LS swap would be nice.
  4. According to IMDB it may be 'Innocent Blood'...I haven't seen it, but recognize many in the cast..a few actors that were in 'The Sopranos' were in it. And according to IMCDB, there were several '70s and 80s Cadillacs in it. The movie I always remember is 'The Color of Money' with Paul Newman driving a white Fleetwood Brougham... 5. I wouldn't mind having a '95-97 TC or an '03-11 TC. They had very comfortable seats. Or a Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham from '85-89 or '93-96...
  6. Neat...a favorite Aunt and Uncle had a tan '73 Buick Centurion 2dr and later a dark red '78 Electra 2dr. Rode in both as a kid.
  7. I'm guessing it is someone that later achieved some level of fame, maybe a singer or actor. I don't recognize them. Pic looks like it's from the 1970s.
  8. Nice...in two weeks I'm taking the vacation I planned to take in April but got postponed. Assuming tropical storms and hurricanes don't interfere, I'm going to drive down to Myrtle Beach, SC via WV, VA, and NC. Stay a few days there and explore the beach, nearby towns of Murrells Inlet, Surfside and Georgetown. Then meander up to Kitty Hawk, NC and check out the Outer Banks for a couple days...then back home through VA, MD, WV, and PA ...
  9. New River Gorge bridge is one of the stops on Day 1 of my road trip vacation next month. Looking forward to seeing it.
  10. Conneaut Harbor on Lake Erie. Far NE Ohio.
  11. Nice sunny Saturday, good day for a drive up the coast and a lobster roll.
  12. The colonnades are interesting... I really like the '80s G-bodies, along w/ the B/C/D/E bodies of that era...would love to find a clean '80-84 Electra Park Avenue or '80-89 Caddy Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance as another weekend car..or an Eldorado Biarritz convertible.
  13. I remember working at Jeppesen (Boeing subsidiary) in 2007-2008 and going to a couple all-hands meetings that had briefings on the 787 development and delays... fascinating space to work in. I was working on software integrations w/ FAA data feeds on updates to routing/charting software.
  14. I enjoy driving my Mustang, if I squint it's like I'm 20-25 again...but it rides rough on Ohio's bumpy roads and is rather loud..and feels so tiny in today's traffic. The Caddy is fast, serene, smooth. Definitely my road trip car.
  15. Heh-heh...I'm enjoying my Old Man Cadillac...getting close to 30mpg highway w/ my 3.6 CT6...I enjoy driving it more than my 5.0 Mustang.
  16. 'Cupra' is Latin for copper..maybe that is where they got it. It's also an ancient Etruscan fertility goddess. Cupra the car brand started as a performance trim level on SEAT cars in the 90s, and as the name of their race team. Kind of like M, V-, SVT or SRT, but then became it's own brand more recently. Another one of VWAG's many brands.
  17. Very strange name, at least to Anglophones... named after a scenic location on Mallorca. Maybe they could do a version that is miserable to drive, and call it the Tormentor?
  18. Generic mediocrity..take of the badging and it could be anything...
  19. Without googling the volume and dimensions, my sister’s Equinox feels larger in both the front and back seat areas than my WK2 GC, which feels smaller inside than my old WJ GC was IMO.
  20. I don't know about the new one, but the back seat and rear door openings on the '23 Equinox are quite spacious, bigger than the rear seat area of my '14 Grand Cherokee..the Jeep is esp. lacking in leg room in the back.
  21. I miss him and Balthy...they were...amusing.and CaminoLS6.
  22. The new 'Nox looks good...haven't seen one yet in person. My sister still loves her '23, it only has 9500 miles on it....she hasn't been driving much since retiring last year.
  23. I caught myself referring to my compact tire inflator as a 'tire charger'...as in 'I need to charge up my tire charger'.. (the inflator charges via USB).
  24. Reminds me--I saw in the news yesterday that an alligator was spotted recently in Lake Erie in the Erie, PA area...not native to the area.
