Back home from my vacation. 9 days, 7 states, 2300 miles. The CT6 performed flawlessly and proved to be a great road trip car. Got a lot of rest and relaxation, a lot of beach time. Enjoyed Myrtle Beach and Charleston, SC, loved the Outer Banks of NC. First pic is in Rodanthe in the Outer Banks after driving through torrential rain (AWD and traction control helped a lot), second pic is this morning in Maryland. Saw a lot of interesting places, lots of good food.

Enjoying my vacation this week. Drive down from Ohio to Myrtle Beach was fine, the CT6 really shines as a road trip car…soaks up the miles. Been getting close to 30 mpg at 70-75 on freeways (occasionally 85-90 passing). Been relaxing and spending a lot of time on the beach. Headed to the Outer Banks in NC on Friday.

I think it's mostly automated, their BS algorithms are doing keyword searches... people also can report things, I do all the time, don't know if they result in time outs.

Not sure what he has now, but I recall he previously had a '90s Town Car and later an '00s DTS... the $30k house reminds me of my family farm, my Dad bought in 1968 for $40k (130 acres, 1859 house). Even with the house in run-down condition (due to my deranged brother) it brought close to $800k at auction in 2022..

Yes, I enjoyed the latest film. All the BHC movies have great soundtracks.

I've noticed that... I have several savings accounts and CDs and have seen the savings accounts dip below 5% interest rates.

No idea, but a lot of Uber drivers seem to getting them, seems to be a trend.

Just that it's been very frustrating charging his car... he lives downtown in an apartment--driving for Uber and Lyft while going to grad school, so he has to rely on public charging stations and he finds them hogged by people trying to get 100% and they are often out of order. Could be about the Honda...got out at my house and instead of a normal engine idling sound, I heard this humming. Just haven't been around Accord Hybrids before... or any hybrid for that matter--none in my reality context. (GM 1.5 and 3.6, FCA 3.6, and classic Ford Windsor 5.0 and 5.8 are what I have at home..)

Came out of Ace Hardware this morning, saw a gorgeous black CT5-V series parked near my CT6. On the way home, saw a gorgeous copper w/ white interior '62 de Ville convertible parked in a small lot, top down. Beautiful weather today.

Went to a concert last night (more 80s nostalgia--British synth pop bands--Haircut One Hundred, ABC, and Howard Jones). Took an Uber down--a black Kia EV6. Lots of legroom in the back, neat styling..pretty quiet and smooth. Chatted w/ the driver about charging adventures. Uber on the way home was a white Honda Accord Hybrid. Comfortable, reasonably spacious in the back. Made a very strange sound when outside..like a humming rather than typical engine sounds.

Taking it easy and resting this weekend after a heavy month at work.. just tired. Got a concert tonight, but plan to rest most of the weekend, do a bit of grilling. Short work week next week then my vacation starting a week from today..

I don't like the '90-92 Brougham because of the door-mounted seatbelts and composite headlights. An '80s one w/ a LS swap would be nice.
-
According to IMDB it may be 'Innocent Blood'...I haven't seen it, but recognize many in the cast..a few actors that were in 'The Sopranos' were in it. And according to IMCDB, there were several '70s and 80s Cadillacs in it. The movie I always remember is 'The Color of Money' with Paul Newman driving a white Fleetwood Brougham... I wouldn't mind having a '95-97 TC or an '03-11 TC. They had very comfortable seats. Or a Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham from '85-89 or '93-96...

Neat...a favorite Aunt and Uncle had a tan '73 Buick Centurion 2dr and later a dark red '78 Electra 2dr. Rode in both as a kid.

I'm guessing it is someone that later achieved some level of fame, maybe a singer or actor. I don't recognize them. Pic looks like it's from the 1970s.

Nice...in two weeks I'm taking the vacation I planned to take in April but got postponed. Assuming tropical storms and hurricanes don't interfere, I'm going to drive down to Myrtle Beach, SC via WV, VA, and NC. Stay a few days there and explore the beach, nearby towns of Murrells Inlet, Surfside and Georgetown. Then meander up to Kitty Hawk, NC and check out the Outer Banks for a couple days...then back home through VA, MD, WV, and PA ...

New River Gorge bridge is one of the stops on Day 1 of my road trip vacation next month. Looking forward to seeing it.

Conneaut Harbor on Lake Erie. Far NE Ohio.

The colonnades are interesting... I really like the '80s G-bodies, along w/ the B/C/D/E bodies of that era...would love to find a clean '80-84 Electra Park Avenue or '80-89 Caddy Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance as another weekend car..or an Eldorado Biarritz convertible.

I remember working at Jeppesen (Boeing subsidiary) in 2007-2008 and going to a couple all-hands meetings that had briefings on the 787 development and delays... fascinating space to work in. I was working on software integrations w/ FAA data feeds on updates to routing/charting software.

I enjoy driving my Mustang, if I squint it's like I'm 20-25 again...but it rides rough on Ohio's bumpy roads and is rather loud..and feels so tiny in today's traffic. The Caddy is fast, serene, smooth. Definitely my road trip car.
-
Heh-heh...I'm enjoying my Old Man Cadillac...getting close to 30mpg highway w/ my 3.6 CT6...I enjoy driving it more than my 5.0 Mustang.

'Cupra' is Latin for copper..maybe that is where they got it. It's also an ancient Etruscan fertility goddess. Cupra the car brand started as a performance trim level on SEAT cars in the 90s, and as the name of their race team. Kind of like M, V-, SVT or SRT, but then became it's own brand more recently. Another one of VWAG's many brands.
