  1. That looks like a '95-97. The '90-94 was very similar, but had a fixed quarter window in the rear door and squarer headlights, the '95-97 had slightly rounded grille and headlights and a new dashboard. I've always liked these, I had a silver '97 rental I drove to my 10th high school reunion in Marathon, Fl back in '98. My Dad's last new car was a silver blue '96. All the '90s TCs had the 4.6 except for the 1990, which was the first year of this design but had the carryover 5.0, with the new modular 4.6 coming in for '91.
  2. Those headlights look a lot like an Isuzu D-Max..wonder if it's based on an Isuzu van.
  3. @oldshurst442 as a random aside, I kept looking at the photo in your post footer and thinking it looked familar--appears to be of Athens, but the color and lighting kind of remind me of an album cover of a favorite album of mine, 'Forth' by the Verve. Not really that similar, but it was reminding me I need to listen to that album again...been a while.
  4. Wouldn't it be easier to have the dealer there ship it to a dealer in your area? Or this a private party purchase?
  5. Reality is complex, if the UK market is remotely like the US, the general public is deeply ignorant of anything technical about their consumer products....probably typical generic 'muppets' that buy a Porsche for the bling factor with no comprehension of it's usability.
  6. It could be just a lease...a lot of Brits have tiny houses or apartments with very little space to park.
  7. Nonsense like this is why I will stick with a proper gas-guzzling SUV for the next decade or so. I haven't had issues finding a working gas pump.
  8. Hmmm....older Jaguar or Lexus?
  9. I like Michelin tires, didn't realize they had Michelin-branded wiper blades. I've used Bosch blades for years, they work great.
  10. Yes, but those examples are all 50+ years ago. Irrelevant to the reality of today and say, 10 years from now...
  11. So a current Mustang is 188", so the Maverick is maybe 192-196 (looking the rears are about even, and maybe 4-6 inches of front beyond the Mustang) ? Just eye-balling it..so maybe a 1 1/2 ft shorter than the Ranger (211").
  12. Look at all the automakers building compact CUVs with transverse 2.0 4cyls. Would it matter if the engines/transmissions/other dirty bits all came from the same supplier? Probably not. It’s usually not the powertrain that distinguishes a sale of one appliance over another, it’s the brand perception, the content/options, styling, dealer network etc.
  13. I think the most important thing is who ever supplies a BEV power unit and platform is that it is safe, efficient and reliable.
  14. This kid looks a lot like a classmate of mine circa 1980 or so...
  15. The launch video from Stellantis I saw did not make any mention of a longer wheelbase, and they both appeared the same. Likewise for the Car & Driver articles on both. Which article are you referencing? Launch video: Car & Driver articles: https://www.caranddriver.com/jeep/wagoneer https://www.caranddriver.com/jeep/grand-wagoneer This article mentions that Motor Trend believes LWB versions of both could be coming later https://www.motor1.com/news/494206/extra-long-jeep-wagoneer-coming/
  16. Yes, at initial launch, though, the W and GW are only available in the shorter wheelbase. I assume the LWB model will be call 'L' or 'XL'. Though 'Megabeast' would work also. The W/GW wheelbase is 123, longer than the Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade SWB models, so a LWB would probably be 130 or so?
  17. My understanding is there is only 1 wheelbase. Grand is luxury trim. Closest GM analogy is Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are like Yukon and Yukon Denali.
  18. I’ve read that early Connery closely resembled the Fleming character persona. I’ve never read the Fleming novels, but have read ones by various authors since the late 80s. Bond has had some interesting cars in the later novels, incl an ‘80s Bentley Turbo R and a Saab 900 Turbo. the 1954 version is on You Tube, I’ve watched it. Peter Lorre is the Le Chiffre character, and Jimmy not James Bond is an American.
  19. The original was Barry Nelson in a 1954 tv adaptation of Casino Royale.
  20. This is a good geeky one...
  21. Scammers are one of the reasons I have a NO SOLICITATION sign on my door and cameras.
  22. I just watched the 13+ min launch promotional video from Stellantis for the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer...very strange, not a single mention of Jeep or on screen during the video that I saw... love the interior..the outside is pretty blocky, though I like the front end. One idea I saw someone throw out on FB was that maybe Jeep is marketing Wagoneer as a sub-brand, kind of like how Range Rover is to Land Rover.
  23. Gamma radiation. I can still remember the opening credits...Dr Banner was testing gamma rays, then had a flat tire on his Celica during a storm. Freaked out and became the hulk and flipped over his Celica. (from the 1970s Incredible Hulk TV series I watched as a kid).
