  1. I saw a lot of cars that looked like that when I lived in the Southwest ..oxidized paint, black trim faded to whitish gray, no rust,]very tired and worn out looking, yet still running...
  2. Interesting story I saw the other day out of NM....15,000 bees in a Buick Century at a grocery. One thing that wasn't mentioned in the article was when they thought the bees got in...did it happen spontaneously while the owner was in the grocery, or had they been driving around for a while w/ a bee hive growing in the car? https://www.autoblog.com/2021/04/01/bee-hive-overtakes-car-buick-century/
  3. Going to be interesting to see if an annual Covid shot will become routine like an annual flu shot has been for many years.
  4. I had my first Pfizer shot on March 22. Had registered online w/ the local hospital chains, Walgreens, and CVS to see when I could get an appointment...University Hospitals came through first once I was eligible. Had an 8 am appointment, first group of the day at a local hospital. They were pretty efficient, from queuing up, to the registration, to the actual shot and the post shot wait w/ a 15 min timer I was in and out in around 35 minutes. I ended up going there twice that day---my sister's appointment was at 5:45 at the same hospital, and she wanted me along as her emotional support sibling. Only a little shoulder pain that evening. The next two nights I had bouts of insomnia and only got about 3-4 hrs of sleep, so ended up feeling washed out and weak the following days..took a half day off from WFH and slept. Got shot #2 scheduled for April 12th. Haven't changed my behavior, not going to eat out at crowded bars and restaurants....I guess at 50 I'm not much of a risk-taker anymore. Staying at home indefinitely works for me now, though I do miss going to concerts, museums, restaurants, etc and other things I did in the before time....with Spring here (though not today--snowy and 32F), I do look forward to getting out for walks and hikes in the metro parks and nearby Cuyahoga Valley National Park soon...
  5. I got the 1st shot of Pfizer, and other than a sore shoulder I was fine the first day. But then I had insomnia the next two nights and was pretty exhausted and fuzzy the following days. Not sure if was from my insomnia or a drug interaction w/ my regular prescription sleep meds.
  6. Yeah, really haven't been leaving the house except for the occasional vet appointment or to get takeout. Still doing Doordash/Grubhub, Instacart for groceries, and Amazon Prime for everything else.... went and got my first vaccine shot last week, had to drive to a hospital in another suburb..seemed so odd to be driving in morning rush hour traffic..
  7. Yeah, 4 years of WFH incl. a year of CV staying home has resulted in the miles accumulating slowly... went to the beach and put about 50 miles on it last Saturday, which was the most in a while...
  8. March 31st made 4 years since I bought this Jeep w/ 25k miles. April 1st was the first road trip I took, from Phoenix up to Prescott and back down through the mountains to Wickenburg then back to Phoenix. I took this pic somewhere south of Prescott. It's been trouble free for 4 years and an additional 25k miles. May the next 4 years be uneventful.
  9. ^ that white GP looks like the rental I had in Oregon back in '05 when I got stuck for 7 hours to go 20 miles in an ice storm on I-5.
  10. Mac
  11. GM could sell that as a Chevy something here..would be badass, as a sub-20k entry level BEV below the Bolt.
  12. Spotted a solid red '70 Ford Torino GT convertible in a driveway, looked like it was being worked on.
  13. I've found the C8 to look better in person than in photos. And especially looks good in dark colors, which show off the dozens of creases on the frunk lid and bodysides. Not a fan of white or the dayglo cartoon colors, really like the bronze w/ tan leather interior.
  14. Short sleeve dress shirts w/ ties and shorts...very strange. Maybe a 70s Florida thing?
  15. Power been off a few hours from a storm. Ugh
  16. I’d really like to have an additional garage or small barn to have space for a project car and to tinker. Something quasi-rural but not really rural like my family farm.
  17. My next will be a ranch. I hadn't lived with stairs since childhood, it's been painful at times going up and down 3 flights to do laundry. Albeit short flights.
  18. Yes, 3 levels plus the basement. The right side is living room, kitchen, dining room, 4 steps up from the front hallway and TV room...the TV room is at the same level as the garage, w/ a sliding door leading to the back patio...I have office space in the corner of the TV room and in one of the bedrooms.
  19. One of the auto fix up YouTube channels I like is Watch JRGo, he's recently done repairs on a barn-find Aztek, an GMC XUV (had to replace the sliding roof), among other vehicles..his latest acquisition is this neat 1977 Mack firetruck. Fun stuff...
  20. So 30 minutes a day is unrealistic for most heavy equipment probably, except maybe something like those giant earth movers or huge off-road dump trucks.
  21. 30 minutes a day refueling each vehicle. Maybe driving hundreds (thousands?) of miles a day w/ a large tank and very slow pumps... ?
  22. Yes, great garden. I really haven't done much gardening, mostly been planting shrubbery in my back yard. My cookie-cutter 1967 split level---2000 sq ft (+ 750 sq ft finished basement), 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, 1/4 acre lot, undersized 2 car garage. Wish the garage was bigger, but all in all I've been happy with it the last 4 years I've been here.
  23. Lexus already has 3 row SUVs---the GX and LX, so I guess they didn't think they needed a 3 row CUV.
