Random video I found on You Tube---$2000 Chinese electric truck--Chang Li Explorer--the front looks like a scaled down Silverado HD. Has a neat tilt bed.
-
It is a BOF vehicle, though, so swapping a frame is probably not an unusual thing, like with trucks. It's designed to be unbolted and put back together.

Who said anything about comparing the CR-8 to an F1 car?????? You’ve truly lost the plot. Stop acting obtuse. You do realize there are many forms of racing besides F1? The Corvette has competed and won in various sports car series for years...
-
Not ambiguous at all...when they talk race car, they mean the C8R. Pretty effin' obvious. No one is comparing a street car to an F1 car. But you are so obtuse, you can't see that.

It's British, that is expected.

'59 Edsel and a Lotus Elise. The Elise was sold in the US from '05-11..was the basis for the original Tesla Roadster. Neat little two seat mid-engined sports car...had a co-worker w/ a bright blue one in AZ, rode in it once--so tiny---scary in Scottsdale traffic w/ the all SUVs and lifted trucks on the streets....

I think both in Ohio and S Florida most of the regular 60s and 50s stuff was gone from the roads in the mid 80s (salt). There were a few 60s cars in my high school—maybe a 1/2 dozen, and only 2 from the 50s I remember—a ‘56 Ford pickup street rod and a late 50s MGA. The ‘60s cars I remember were the twins that had a pair of restored red ‘65 Mustangs—one coupe, one convertible, a rough brown ‘68 Mustang coupe, a rough blue ‘66 Mustang coupe, an orange ‘68 Road Runner, a dark blue ‘68 Charger, a gray ‘65 Coupe de Ville and a well worn ‘68 Comet 2dr.

When I was I high school, 4drs with bench seats weren’t aspirational though. They were thought of as parent and grandpa cars. Kids wanted sporty 2dr bucket seat hatchbacks—those were the cars we wanted in the mid 80s. But I had many friends that got hand-me-down sedans from their folks…I remember a pale green ‘77 LeSabre, a sweet red w/ white top ‘76 Electra Limited 2dr, a dark red ‘81 Delta 88, and a sweet triple silver ‘80 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d’Elegance. Rode in all of them, often with 6 teenagers...they were comfortable, not cramped. Also remember a blue '75-78 Marquis 4dr and an early 80s Impala wagon. I drove my Dad’s ‘85 Town Car to school on occasion before I got my ‘87 Mustang GT.

Saw a new WL JGC L for the first time up close, front looks good. Hood and sides seem too flat ( I like the creases of my WK2). Not sold on the rear either. This one was a Summit. Also saw a sharp black ‘65 Mustang 2+2, and a Pro Street style ‘73 Buick Gran Sport. Dark blue w/ huge rear tires, giant bubble hood scoop, STGE 1 license plate. Great rumble.

Or to own a business called 'Brian's Laundry'.

From what I've read, pretty much everything from Ram, Dodge and Chrysler are carryover for 2022 with minor changes from 2021. 2022 is Jeep's year for new.

Another Sunday drive. Out in Ashtabula County again, saw two more covered bridges…cooler, wetter weather but scenic. Not much fall color. Crossed the Pymatuning Reservoir into Pennsylvania and went to Conneaut Lake. Nice roads, great scenery. Saw a CJRD dealer in the middle of nowhere with probably a dozen new Jeep GC Ls on the lot. Saw a red and white ‘64 Dodge Custom 880 2dr on a small town used car lot.

The Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer interior looks good in photos, haven't seen one in person up close yet. Too big/expensive for me to be interested in. I am curious about the new WL Grand Cherokee 2 row... I've seen a few WL GC Ls, not really sold on the new exterior styling yet...rather flat on the sides, missing the center hood crease that GCs have had since the original ZJ, odd C-pillar trim, don't really like the narrow taillights. The interior looks good in photos. Would like to sit in one eventually....maybe at the dealer next time I take my '14 in for service I can sit in an L.

It's interesting, on the Silverado EV mini site it's neat how they have the 'EV' in Chevrolet in blue.. https://www.chevrolet.com/electric/upcoming-all-electric-silverado?ppc=GOOGLE_700000001942090_71700000085568375_58700007303295442_p65589291623&d_src=313715&d_adsrc=3876783&d_campaign=71700000085568375&d_site=GOOGLE&d_adgroup=58700007303295442&d_keyword=silverado ev&gclick=CjwKCAjwzaSLBhBJEiwAJSRoku829qfz2r3GO0U7_WQxYGGI3ATZ4BQEYZDazfjcpKtEhPFqqOYsQBoC4VoQAvD_BwE&gclid=CjwKCAjwzaSLBhBJEiwAJSRoku829qfz2r3GO0U7_WQxYGGI3ATZ4BQEYZDazfjcpKtEhPFqqOYsQBoC4VoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

IIRC, the original Fisker Karma also used the Volt power train. As did the ELR and Opel Ampera (which was a Volt rebadge, sort of).
-
Wowza. I didn’t realize they made a CT6 PHEV. Must have been a blink-and-miss-it model. I remember the ELR, though.

Yeah, I hate hearing that shit when I'm outside...and esp. hate hearing it when I'm at home and enjoying my backyard and some graybeard boomer asshat on a Harley rides by making a lot of noise...or when I'm trying to sleep. Just as bad is the Millenial twit across the street that lives w/ his parents and drives around early in the morning and late at night in his Ecoboost Mustang going BRRRRAAAWWWWPPPPP down the street... As much as I dislike rural, sometimes I think a few acres on a lake out in NE Ohio would be preferable to all the noise in a supposedly quiet suburb...
-
It's too bad they haven't kept the Volt name going...perfect name for an EV. And the Volt had a good reputation IIRC. I've known a couple owners and they loved them. Anecdotally, of course.

Bankrupt. Been in administration the last 4 years, ceased operations and handed over to new government operated carrier.

Rivian R1T Production Trucks Rolls Off Assembly Line
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Rivian
Considering the vast majority of new vehicles have bucket seats and fixed consoles, it's a totally useless number without accounting for the console. Bench seats are an obsolete concept, as dead as carburetors or column shifts for the vast majority of vehicles. It's not 1980. Sounds like automakers need to update specifications to have realistic measurements. -
I like the Erie, PA area also..which is just a few more miles up the road...I love Presque Isle State Park, went there Labor Day weekend. I think I may go up there and into nearby Western NY (up to Dunkirk maybe) and see fall colors and lighthouses soon...

SUVs and cars don't have benches anymore, they shouldn't use such an idiotic, obsolete measurement either. But they seem to be, I saw the Audi A8 listed as having 61.x inches in hip room. Bench seats are an obsolete artifact of the past, shouldn't be relevant in measuring seat room in vehicles with fixed center consoles...I wonder if Consumer Reports or car magazines do real hip measurements instead of this fake nonsense. -
Just an informal drive around Ashtabula County to see the bridges...can be done anytime of year (they have an annual festival where merchants set up at the fair grounds and at some of the bridges). I probably should have waited until next week or so when the fall colors were fully out...but the weather was so nice last weekend, went then. I've seen 12 of the 19 bridges, plan to go back this weekend and see a few more. It's only an hour and a 1/2 for me up to the area. The Ohio wine country is in that area also, a bunch of wineries along I-90. http://www.coveredbridgefestival.org/Pages/bridges.html

So the 61.2 inches is door to door incl. the console? That's weird. Except for regular cab pickups, bench seats have been long obsolete.
