That’s a lot of options. Been a long time since most cars had any optional axle ratios. For yogurt-like food product, I like Siggi’s Skyr. An Iceland product with more protein and calories than yogurt. Smooth and tasty.

Perhaps...but a core value of Escalade is excess, so too much is never enough... they could offer a 950hp V-series Blackwing Blingmaster w/ 24 inch chrome wheels for $200k and sell a few... -

That's not a good goal for a 'luxury' brand. That means they have watered down the brand to the lowest common denominator to appeal to the vapid masses. CUVs, automatic transmissions and 4 cyl engines. No longer building 'the ultimate driving machine' for driving enthusiasts, but building a lot of vanilla lease appliances for generic consumers.

Diesels have no future in passenger cars, though..it's pretty clear automakers are moving to BEV development full throttle...maybe 10 years ago there was an opportunity for diesels... They have made smaller versions of the HF 3.6, though. A 3.0 IIRC.. And the full-size trucks still have the pushrod 4.3 V6 available. (Edit--apparently the 4.3 is gone for '22, except in the ancient Express/Savana vans).

Also, they probably decided it made more sense to have only one V6 engine family, that way they could put them in everything from FWD sedans and CUVs to RWD cars and trucks..

A diesel sports sedan would not have gone over very well in the US...though in Europe they loved that shit. Keep in mind the time frame...GM was circling the drain in the mid-to-late 00s... cutting costs, dropping platforms and divisions, bankruptcy, etc.

Yeah, never used beyond the GMT-360s. But the 00s were a turbulent time for GM, they eventually gave up on the GMT-360s so the engine went away when they went away. Probably would have been too big for Cadillac RWD sedans which were designed for V6s and V8s..and the rest of GM's sedans in the US were FWD then.

It does seem insane that GM would invest in a new engine and use it in only in a few hundred cars over a 2 yr period. Had to have been a very costly mistake... I guess it was victim of timing...had it been out in 2010, maybe it would have had some success...but typical GM, come out with something late, then cancel quickly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_twin-turbo_V8

The reality is 90% of BEVs are going to be forgettable appliances like GM and everyone else makes today, only electrified. There will be a few outstanding designs, but few and far between I suspect. Just a lot of generic appliances for generic consumers. I know I'm being cynical, but probably not that unrealistic. Love those rims...seen a few photos of early 70s Challengers and Firebirds with them.

Not going to happen, though...most EV cars will be pill shaped aero disposable appliances with zero style and personality, available in black, silver or white.

Lower Midwest, borders southern Illinois. On I-70. Further south than Indianapolis or Columbus. Missouri is the southernmost state in the large Midwest region. (And I’m in the easternmost portion of the Midwest, bordering PA)..

Apparently the output hasn't changed since 2015. The 6.2 L86/L87 has been available in all the GM full size trucks and SUVs since then apparently.

I wonder if it will have the CT5 6.2 supercharged V8 w/ 668hp? Probably with the 10 speed auto. A 6spd manual version would be cool and unique. Cadillac needs to out-Hellcat the Hellcat with 900hp versions of the CT5-V and Escalade-V.. call them the V-BAMF... 420 according to the Wikipedia.

I've found Whole Foods 365 brand Ruffles-style chips to be tastier than Ruffles. With the crappy snowy and cold weather, think I'm going to stay in and stream movies this weekend.

I think a core problem that we have today in the US are too many people unwilling to do anything for the greater public good, for society. Too many people hollering about ‘individual freedoms’ and other horseshit. Too many selfish assholes in this country.

The unvaccinated continue to spread the disease and fill up hospitals. They are a threat to public safety.

Those are all good ideas for dealing w/ the unvaccinated. The US should do something like that also. This has been going on too long and the useless, selfish anti-vaxxers are just stretching it out..

Yes, I love being in a neighborhood with brick houses and lots of trees. Fun factoid—the house with two snow covered cars in the driveway—one is a blue Lincoln Mark VII LSC, and there is a Buick Grand National in the garage. Of those ‘79-85 E-bodies the Eldorado was my favorite. Love the crisp lines. I like the Riviera also.

First real snow of the season. Jeep is safe and warm in the garage, not going anywhere. Snow started about 6 pm last night, still coming down.

From their photos, the Bollinger looked like a '70s kit car inside, very crude and amateurish.
