FCA probably has some BS cost excuse that the GLQ platform is too expensive for Dodge and Chrysler...

Yes...when the Levante came out, I wondered if it would be a platform for a future Jeep..it's the right size, but more of a soft-roader.

Maybe the GC will get a variant of the Levante platform? Which is also used for the Ghibli and Quattroporte...

I don't know about reasonable, it's what they are. Seems like over the last 40 years cars have been downsized (though small cars have gotten larger) while trucks have gotten larger and heavier. Meeting crash standards and adding content has increased weight, even though a lot a lightening has gone on. There are no stripped down cars for the most part today, and stripped trucks only exist for fleets. It seems the average 4cyl compact is better equipped than a typical Detroit luxury car 40 years ago, and more powerful. So cars today on average are more efficient, more powerful, safer, and better equipped than 40 years ago. And heavier...interesting times we live in.

For an extreme size vs weight example, I wonder how much the lightest 60s full size 4dr sedan weighed..like a 6cyl Biscayne. Under 4000lbs maybe?

In an era of 5000-6000 lb SUVs and trucks, 4000 lb cars seem reasonable to me..

H Hong Kong and Tokyo are definitely on my long term travel list...I want to see the Japanese countryside...the mountains and coastlines, beautiful country from what I've seen of it in photos..

The heft is part of their appeal, IMO. Like with Mercedes, the V8 E-Class models aren't lightweights...

The Samsung Galaxy does have a very good camera. I've been in the Apple ecosystem using iCloud and iTunes to synch my phone, iPad and Mac Book Pro for so long, don't really want to switch back to Android. I did have a couple Android Motorola Droids back in the day, and they were awful. Not sure if I'm going to get a iPhone 7, 8, or X. I don't like that they deleted the audio input.

I've been on iPhones for 5 years, probably will get another one soon...my 6S is almost 3 years old and the battery life is not good anymore. Alas, will have to wait awhile before I have CarPlay since I just bought my Jeep last year..

Georgio is fine for a compact sports sedan, but the Charger and Challenger need to be at least 4000lbs and have V8 versions. Different market niches.

Looks like old Pontiac Rally IIs...if you mean the wheels on the custom Lincoln.

Not sure. Hard to tell the years on those, but they are ones with the squinty headlights--the MCE of the 99-07(?) generation. Edit--looks like 03 is when they changed the front end of the Silverado in that generation.

I like the '60 more than the '59 styling....cleaner, and I like the straight lines of the fins.

Some of the lawn services have older rusty trucks also. I've seen a couple that have mid-00s Rams and Silverados.

The yard service that takes care of the house across the street from me uses a Silverado Redline like the one Drew posted. My yard service guys have a regular 14-15 Silverado crew cab in bright red w chrome trim.

Fiat News: FCA's Latest Five-Year Plan: What You Need to Know

Speaking of small Jeeps, wouldn't a modern day CJ equivalent be cool? The '50s CJ3s were really tiny compared to a Wrangler. A baby brother for the Wrangler..- 9 replies

The Fiat Panda Cross 4x4 is 145". I can see them doing a rebodied Jeep version of that. I bet a Jeep that size would be a hit in Japan if priced right..- 9 replies

Fiat News: FCA's 5-Year Briefing To Not Feature Chrysler, Dodge, or Fiat
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
Saw this on Allpar today..not sure how accurate it is (Allpar seems to have a lot of wild speculative fiction). FCA is supposedly working on an update the Charger and Challenger.. http://www.allpar.com/news/2018/06/dodge-working-on-significant-upgrade-to-current-challenger-and-charger-platform-40887- 17 replies

Fiat News: FCA's Latest Five-Year Plan: What You Need to Know
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
Keep in mind these product forecasts are global, some of those won't be US models, like how the Grand Commander is for China. And a small Jeep CUV below the Renegade would likely sell in markets like Japan and the UK.- 9 replies
