  1. 3 different cars, 3 different restaurants, 3 different cities. All Indian or Pakistani curry. Just can't handle the really spicy stuff anymore. ;( I'd like to have something with the plush comfort of that era, very quiet but with all the modern cabin tech and plenty of power.
  2. Yes.. luckily, the places I worked from 2011-2017 I had parking garage parking (underground and above ground) or covered lot parking... but from '09-11 I was stuck parking in a huge asphalt lot during the day.
  3. Yeah, those various older cloth interiors look great...I remember seeing a Cadillac Fleetwood w/ the Talisman interior once. My Dad's '70s and '80s Continentals and Town Cars had cloth interiors IIRC, and they were very nice.
  4. When I was in AZ and didn't have covered parking, my Jeep or the Benzes would get to 145F inside during the afternoon. Sheepskin seat covers, steering wheel cover, dash cover. The chrome inside door handles got really hot..
  5. They help a bit, but if the car is sitting out all day in 118 degree weather, it's still hot inside..
  6. The 9 years I lived in AZ I had only leather interiors...dark gray (WJ GC), cream (DTS), dark blue (500SEL), black (300CE), cream (WK2 GC). But had sheepskin seat covers in most...
  7. I watched a fair bit of the previous World Cup 4 years ago because I used to hang out after work w some German guys I worked with and watch matches at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Tempe AZ. It's fun to watch. Though I mostly watch F1, Indy Car and DTM and then NFL and some NBA when in season...
  8. Hah-hah, no that was me on 3 occasions where I went for Indian or Pakistani curry without taking Immodium before and after...unstable bowels. I learned Chicken Vindaloo and 115 degree days don't mix well...
  9. Having had to clean up the aftermath of explosive diarrhea and vomit from multiple cars, leather gets my vote every time.
  10. I had cloth a long time ago...'80s Fords. But my more recent vehicles have been leather..leather is so much easier to keep clean...
  11. So Cadillac and M-B don't offer cloth interiors in the US? I'm not a fan of cloth interiors, but I know some people like them.
  12. Wowza..that is a slick custom. The late 40s GM coupes (before the '48-49 redesigns) were so bloated and humpy, this looks great though..
  13. Saw a really clean late 90s final generation Olds 88 in black. Haven't seen one of those in years...
  14. That would be socialism!
  15. Metric would be something like 250 cubits though. This was inches. Don't always believe Google search results I guess
  16. Oddly, the Golf R comes up as 22.8, but the regular Golf and GTI come up as 17.4 when googling...does the R have a smaller backseat or something?
  17. Styling?
  18. Less rear overhang.
  19. Golf: 17.4 ft³, 53.7 ft³ XT4: 22.3 ft³, 48.9 ft³ With the seat down, the Golf has about 5 more cubic feet of space. With the back seat down, the XT4 has only slightly more space than the Trax! Trax: 18.7 ft³, 48.4 ft³ In comparison, the XT4's GM brand relatives are way more spacious. Equinox: 29.9 ft³, 63.5 ft³ Terrain: 29.6 ft³, 63.3 ft³ So utility was not a priority in the XT4 development, it sounds like...even the larger XT5 isn't that great--- XT5: 30 ft³, 63 ft³ compared to the Acadia: Acadia: 12.8 ft³, 79 ft³ (that seat up figure is odd, 3rd row?)
  20. Way better looking than any current Toyota or Lexus sedan..
  21. Well, he does live in Amish country, maybe the local culture has rubbed off on him...;)
  22. ICE and EV are far more complex than the propulsion systems the Amish are used to...they still roll like it's 1699...
  23. That looks more like a '74 front end. The '73 had 4 round taillights, the '74 had 2 trapazoidal rounded ones. Here's a '74 in what appears to be the same green.
  24. It is smaller, remember, the XT4 is in the Equinox/Terrain compact family, while the Blazer is a midsize like the Acadia and XT5.
