  1. They kind of look like a Model S that's been narrowed, shortened and made taller..a bit awkward looking from some angles.
  2. I don't know about the materials or fit and finish, but the interior looks very attractive from the photos. The exterior is clean, doesn't try and copy BMW or MB. Automobile or Road & Track had a good write up of it this month, sounds like it drives quite well.
  3. The DoorDash delivery guy tonight was a Millennial hipster w/ a red artisanal beard, driving a black Tesla Model 3. First Model 3 I'd seen in person...he said they told him there had only been about 150 sold so far in NE Ohio...
  4. The compact premium sports sedan is really crowded..Genesis is joining a market that has Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lexus, Mercedes...
  5. Huh???? The CLA is just a FWD transverse engine generic. This has a RWD platform. And M-B has platform sharing w/ Nissan/Infiniti, not Hyundai/Genesis. Maybe you need new glasses, looks nothing like the CLA.
  6. After 17 years and 170k, my Jeep was tired...didn't want to spend any more on it..transmission was starting to slip, power windows and locks worked intermittently, air bag light came on on left turns.. desert life is hard on vehicles and people. Didn't trust it on the 2000+ mile drive from Phoenix to Cleveland...the A/C wasn't very cold anymore either. So glad to be done with the desert shithole..never want to be in Southwest ever again.
  7. I put 170k on the 4.0 I6 in my Grand Cherokee WJ. The engine was reliable overall, had oil leaks for years...
  8. LoL...well, Ford did own Jaguar back then...so it's not so preposterous...if Ford still owned Jag, there would no doubt be a Jag F150 variation, a Jag Expedition variation, etc...
  9. Great to hear. I miss the straight 6 that was a staple of Jeep for so long. I have always thought of straight 6s when I think of Jeep engines.
  10. That movie is on my to-watch list. It is interesting how IT is handled in different companies..I've worked in several companies where IT was sort of secondary--they weren't software companies--but in verticals like banking, insurance, aviation...and worked at others that were established or startup software companies, and software consulting firms--where the software and technical skill is the product.. cost center vs profile center is how I've heard IT described.
  11. Yeah, even when I was at Wells Fargo I didn't have to wear a tie... and they really were locked down and IT was in it's own buildings separate from everyone else..
  12. What I found funny about my place was is after 17 years in IT (at that time), I'd never had to wear a tie. Maybe a cultural thing about being a Caribbean-based insurance company. I can understand for sales people and execs, but I'm a software consultant in IT working in the bowels of their systems and websites..I don't interact w/ the upper management or sales.
  13. Not sure..I'm not up on the Pacifica powertrains...3.6 Pentastar regular and hybrid version?
  14. I've lived in suburbanish neighborhoods of big cities, a couple small towns, college towns, a resort/fishing town in Florida, and rural in Ohio...I like my leafy suburb I'm in now. Very quiet, lots of green and trees, critters, but close to major freeways and the airport, a national park and metro area parks, tons of restaurants around, close to downtown and the symphony, museums, arts, etc. Second choice would be a college town close to a big city. I enjoy traveling in rural areas to see the outdoors, but I couldn't live that way again.
  15. Yes, FWD minivan w/ Hellcat..great idea. Not. ...though a mild performance trim wouldn't be too crazy, remember the turbo Caravans in the 80s..
  16. It's funny, my current client when I started there 4 years ago required business wear w/ ties in the office from Labor Day through Memorial Day on Mon-Thur...unusual in software engineering, esp. in Arizona which was usually pretty casual. Eventually dropped the tie requirement. I didn't really enjoy wearing ties, esp. in Arizona's heat..now that I work remotely, I can ignore their dress codes...
  17. I wonder if they will do a Hellcat version of the new Ram.
  18. I have several Tommy Bahama shirts in my summer wardrobe. Working from home, though, I usually wear gray hoodies and t-shirts, sweats or shorts and flip-flops. Everyday more casual than casual Friday... I have a closet full of dress clothes for when I have to go back to an office...
  19. I never got into collar popping, but I did wear Izod and Polo Ralph Lauren from high school into my 30s..
  20. Well, I have the cabin in the woods on 150 acres 90 miles from here... but I would need to remove it's current resident. I don't think I will ever live there again, though..too far from civilization...likely can't get high speed internet, no Starbucks within 25 miles, no Dunkin Donuts within 50 miles, no DoorDash service...
  21. Who knows? I think it got the auto stop/start around 15-16.
  22. I would think a 4cyl and the 3.6. Or 4 only like Ford is doing.
  23. and then on top of that, a Hellcat version....Ram Dakota Defecateur (French spelling would be badass). (J/K, having a really shitty work day...production support hell).
  24. Yes, and do a Ram Dakota Rebel trimmed like the Ram Rebel. And maybe for a top version something exotic sounding like the Dakota Minot.
  25. The Mitsu version is sold all over, though..
