TrailBlazer would be good to see on something w/ off-road chops...like a Colorado ZR2 based SUV. Or a name like TrailBlaster Defecator Extreme for an over-the-top Hummer style SUV.

Yeah, personally I think they should have used the Blazer name on something with strong off-road creds...like an SUV version of the Colorado ZR2. This one could have been named 'Camaro Cross' or 'Captiva'...

I can see the FWD models being the bigger sellers in the SunBelt...places like Florida, Texas, AZ...

The Defender ATs have been good in snow for me, but then again I really haven't driven much in snow since I've been back here. Since I work out of the house I can stay in when the weather is really bad.

That's not a Trax, that's an old Saturn Vue. Much larger than a Trax.

They are reliable, but maintenance is expensive as they age...remember the old adage, if you can't afford a new Mercedes, you can't afford a used one. Old German cars are money pits.

I think the mileage on my GC went up when I switched from the original Goodyear Forteras to Michelins Defender ATs about 9k miles ago...

On the surface, it does seem to contradict the German approach taken by Schreyer. They have good brand distinction styling-wise between Hyundai and Kia, I think Genesis needs more distinctive styling--they still kind of look like fancy Hyundais. Some of Hyundai's front ends seem derivative of other brands--- the Tucson and Edge grilles look very similar, and the new Santa Fe kind of resembles the DS 7 front end.

Maybe that is their strategy...advertising 'sale prices' and perception of getting a deal gets butts in the showroom...

I guess they are charging a premium for the Camaro-inspired styling.

Maybe in convertible form...the coupes I find to be like being in a cave. Very poor outward visibility...

I liked the Sky styling more, and the interior more than the Solstice. But the newest ones are both about 10 years old now, and the interior plastics in both were pretty nasty. I wouldn't want to fool around with another old car. For a sports car, I think I'd be more inclined to get a recent Miata or Fiat Spyder. But I also like hefty coupes like the Challenger R/T & SRT, and hefty convertibles like the Mustang GT...

I don't think he will, but I bet M-B will be there first..they have their compact EV SUV coming, bigger ones are probably in the works..

I can see myself buying another FCA product..another Jeep, maybe a Challenger, Charger or 300. Probably a CPO. But other marques I'll probably look at in the future would include Mazda and Volvo...

Maybe the longer, narrower grilles would have worked better on the X7..something inspired by this face, perhaps?- 47 replies

I've thinking a lot about the toy thing lately...for summers on Ohio backroads.

You have or had a Miata previously, right?

It has longer rear doors and rear quarters are than the X5, with a thicker, more upright D-pillar..more formal than the sportier X5. Looks handsome to me.- 47 replies

So it's priced comparably to the Explorer, Grand Cherokee, Durango, Highlander, etc. Not sure if it offers anything better than those, esp. with a new Explorer and GC (NG is supposed to have a 3 row version available) coming.. is the Blazer going to be 2 and 3 row, or are they leaving the 3 row for the Traverse?
