  1. I decided to retire Cubical, and Moltar..no more aliases..keep it real. Be myself...
  2. Way too much going on w/ the '18 and '19 Silverado front ends, IMO. Too many cutlines and details. The '14-15 is still much cleaner and better looking IMO. As far as older Chevy pickup fronts, I'd rank these pretty high...at least an '8' or '9', IMO. 83-84, 73-74, 69-70.
  3. Hit the 40,000 mile mark on Friday. Need to get an oil change and recall fix (cruise control) soon, but ready for winter otherwise. Running great.
  4. Did that, they sent me the wrong part. The sent me the stop bumper that goes on the fender back by the hood strut. Taller, different base.
  5. I can read the shift pattern on my laptop. Neat how there is a heart at 6th.
  6. I see a new theme this afternoon...I like. Very clean.
  7. Which is a fine for the target demo of upscale professional young females. They don't have a herd of offspring to haul around.
  8. I'm surprised M-B hasn't done more to utilize the platforms available w/ Renault/Dacia/Nissan in their partnership for models like this. Lots of mainstream inexpensive FWD cars and CUVs from those brands. (going beyond what they have done so far w/ SMART and Renault/Nissan)>
  9. A bunch of randomness this evening. Went to a concert downtown, had front row, center seats. Great show. Classic cosmic prog rock from John Lodge. On the way to the show, while slowly going down a busy two-lane street dead-ending into the club parking, the police pulled over the SUV behind me...which was a black Jeep that appeared identical to mine. Odd. On the way home, my Jeep hit the 40,000 mile mark. Not bad for a '14. Watched a freighter go down the river out into Lake Erie from the club, tried to take pics, but through the glass my phone made a blurry pic. Outside I took a few pics of the city at night. Mellow evening.
  10. And with the name 'SMART' make it all EV and play up that angle..
  11. I don't know if Smart is available in India, but I doubt if it sells well there..they have loads of home grown models and locally built imports from Suzuki Maruti, Toyota, Renault, Tata, Ford, Hyundai, Mahindra, etc..
  12. Re: old man trucks I tend to think of 'old man' trucks as the most basic trim level 2wd regular cab models w/ no options. A lot of older guys liked that configuration of Ranger, for example.
  13. My first job wasn't until freshman year in college, I worked in the campus bookstore for 2 years until I got a job with the Math & Computer Science Department IT team as an assistant to the sys admin--the wonderful world of late night UNIX server upgrades, setting up computer labs, doing tape backups, etc. The good stuff..
  14. The fast food places often seem to have adults and retirement age people working them around here. At local Dunkin Donuts there is a woman that appears to be from India/Pakistan and another lady from Scotland (her accent makes the drive through orders a challenge).
  15. So the Denali has a lot of content standard and a lot of optional content. One can imagine the nightmare all the electronics will be when these are 15-20 years old and on their 3rd or 4th owner.. ugh.
  16. I think that was a jab at your obsession about having enough back seat space in any vehicle for Shrek and friends.
  17. I wonder if Route 66 Nissan in Tulsa uses the old song 'Get Your Kicks on Route 66' in an ad for the Kicks..
  18. Just saw a tv ad for the XT4...they are definitely targeting the young female demo...woman under 30 driving a red XT4 w/ bubblegum pop music..
  19. Whilst enjoying a bowl of pho for dinner I looked out the window of the restaurant and saw two dark compact crossovers parked nose to tail that I did not recognize. One looked kind of like the Trax or Encore in the rear quarter, the other had a slash rising through the doors into a short rear quarter w/ Volvo-like pointy taillights (from the side). I couldn't see the front or rear, only the side profiles and didn't see any badging. I wasn't sure what either was, but I assumed Japanese. Very disturbing to not recognize a new vehicle immediately; I'm usually better than that..I guess I haven't been paying as close attention as I did for the last 40+ years of new vehicle releases. I went out and walked around them after dinner, turned out they were the Nissan Kicks and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Interesting.. Then I went over to the Shell station to procure some petrol for my Jeep, and saw a new black Honda Civic Type R pull up. Everything black--windows, wheels, etc. Very sinister. What cracked me up was how the driver was dressed--young Asian guy in flip flops, shorts and a t-shirt. It's 45F outside...
  20. Thought it would be more... I went through the B&P and ticked all the boxes and got the Denali to $72k+.. Total Vehicle and Options $72,930 Destination Freight Charge $1,495 Total Vehicle Price $74,425 Net Price $74,425
  21. So that's not even the Denali version...the Denali is what, $80k - 90k or more?
  22. Cool....when I was there I heard they had the largest installation of Sun Microsystems workstations in the US at the time. They had them all over campus. I had a Sun workstation and a NeXTStation on my desk. Fun times...back in my mid 20s when I had the energy to work insane hours every week doing PhD research and still go out w/ my buddies to bars and guzzle beer and vodka several nights a week..
  23. I remember back in '97 a Korean grad student I shared an office with at the U of Michigan bought a dark green MX-6 w/ a tan interior. Nice car...
  24. She's a hottie, but is 28 according to Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choi_Soo-young
  25. It looks tiny in photos because of the short rear, but it's a couple inches longer than the Escape, slightly smaller than the Equinox.
