A 2018 Cadillac CT6 Premium Luxury w/Super Cruise Review
Robert Hall replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Reader Reviews
I've seen a half dozen CT6s in the last week...they are striking. Saw one in a dark red Saturday night in a parking garage. Fit right in amongst the German luxury cars around it. Love the headlight pattern at night when I see one coming up behind.. -
No reason it couldn't be named Corvette. Porsche has sports cars and SUVs. i like the idea of a family of Corvette models--front engine sports car like the C7, mid engine sports car like the C8, a performance SUV, maybe a EV sports car, maybe a hypercar. And within VWAG, Porsche coexists w/ Audi and higher brands. Corvette could be relative to Cadillac how Porsche is to Audi. The idea of a multi-model Corvette line is an old one, I remember seeing the idea proposed in Car & Driver maybe 20 years ago.

Instead of a low volume niche mid engined model, they probably should have done a high performance crossover. Something to compete w/ the Cayenne.

The total estimate came in at $3150. $1700 in parts.

Didn't Buick have a slick wiper or defrosting windshield approach around 2000 that hasn't been seen in years?- 86 replies

Maybe they are hurriedly redesigning the mid engine Corvette to be a CUV.

Maybe they can come up with a crate EV motor that has a case styled to look like a BBC with chrome valve covers, painted orange, with a fake carburetor on top. And shake, make rumbly sounds, and smell like gasoline.

GM seems to have a history of coming out with advanced technology, with refining products, and then cancelling them before their time to shine in the market. Plagued by short-term thinking?- 86 replies

Should be minor--just the rear fascia and it's parts, not sure sure if they are going to repair the hatch or replace it. I don't know if there is any rear/underbody damage behind the bumper, though. It was interesting--she just took a bunch of photos and posted them to the insurance company through their phone app rather than an adjuster coming out.

I'm 48, 6'0". I've been driving SUVs as daily drivers for most of the last 24 years. I drove Mustangs as daily drivers off and on from age 16 to 30, after that drove cars less and less. I like the high seating position, headroom and ease of entry/exit with an SUV. Never really liked trunks, always preferred hatchbacks, so that is part of the appeal of an SUV.

Makes sense to move on at this time..the Camaro has painted itself into a corner where it paradoxically gets more powerful yet uglier...a dead end. They need a clean sheet of paper approach for the next Camaro.

I like what I hear here of Keiko Matsui..will have to check out more. For Japanese musicians, one I like is Tomoyasu Hotei, perhaps best known in the West for 'Battle Without Honor or Humanity' used in the movie Kill Bill.

Was a low speed shunt..she stopped at a light changed to red at a left turn onto a freeway onramp, the Kia driver didn't stop...
-
She didn't get any pics of the Kia. Exchanged insurance info w/ the guy and he was able to drive away, she said his left headlight was broken out, grille damaged, bumper cracked, hood bent. 2015 Optima. She's probably going to work from home today then drive over to Toledo (her client is over there) in her Cadillac tomorrow.

My sister’s Trax got whacked by a Kia at a light this morning, waiting on insurance adjuster to visit. Had to get it hauled home on a rollback, the mashed in bumper is rubbing the tire. Way to start a Monday.

Chevrolet News:Chevrolet Asks Camaro Owners About A Hybrid Camaro

Maybe combine a Segway w/ VR goggles. On a related thought, I saw a video of guy wearing VR goggles hooked up to a GoPro and walking around sidewalks, a mall, etc and saying that he was in a VR environment that looked like...walking on sidewalks and around a mall... -
The loaded 2500HDs and Ford Platinums and Limiteds, etc are way up there though... For instance, the local GMC dealer has 7 Sierra 2500 crew cabs in stock--ranging from 59k to 74k. The local Chevy dealer has two Chevy 3500 HDs--$68 and $69k. Though I don't see the Rivian competing with those bloated monster trucks. <marketing> It's an urban 'lifestyle vehicle' for active adults who go in the outdoors on the weekends... </marketing>

Interesting...wonder what that was installed in.

A few minutes ago...my Jeep was down to a quarter of a tank. Went out on the main street outside my neighborhood--5 stations within a mile or so to choose from...Valero, Sunoco, Shell, BP, Chevron. Went to Shell. Fill up took maybe 6-8 minutes. It will be a while until recharging has that level of convenience. Yes, it was cold outside--30 degrees, but being an Ohio native, I have winter clothes..

I like Uber..very convenient sometimes. If I lived downtown in a big city with lousy parking and lousy traffic, I'd use it all the time.. Or autonomous vehicles. Driving is very distracting from playing on their phones, playing video games, etc.
