Funny about that. She drove it this morning, seemed fine. Got home, a few hours later when we went out to get the Trax noticed it was flat. Called AAA, they put on the donut spare--it was flat also. Not sure what happened w/ the tire, didn't see any nails, etc. Drove it down to the independent shop she uses to have it checked out (they put the tires on new back in September), going to get the shocks, struts, etc replaced, and a few other anomalies checked out (airbag light is on, it's really loud at idle, etc).

Saw a new Ranger today...crew cab 4x4 in that orange/gold color in front of the showroom of the local Ford dealer..looks good.

One day shy of a month and the Trax is back home. Estimate was $3150, total came to $4500. USAA paid for it all, incl. refunding the deductible since the other driver was at fault.

Tesla quietly raises Model-S and Model-X prices by $15,000 or more
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Tesla
The interior materials don't impress either for the price. I've ridden in a Model S a couple times a few years ago, they don't seem overly luxurious...a big German sedan or big Cadillac is way nicer inside, IMO. -
Yes, Hybrids. I was only thinking pure EVs.

VWAG have a bunch of EVs about to enter production from VW, Porsche, Audi... Ford had the Focus Electric, not much else.

I never really got used to the Arizona summers. Loved my pool, though. I find I'm healthier in a more maritime climate..love having 4 distinct seasons and all the greenery and water. I don't miss the dust, heat and sun.

Ha, I knew it. I lived in north Central Phoenix (near the Biltmore) from '08-17. Moved to the Cleveland, Oh area in 2017 (originally from NE Ohio). Have had 6 inches of snow today.. I still work for a client in Scottsdale (work out of my house).

Free-standing tablet touch screens seems to be the trend on a lot of new models in the last couple of years. Personally, I prefer the integrated touchscreens like FCA products usually have.

Welcome back...I don't recall, you aren't in Arizona are you? The background in your photo reminds me of my old Phoenix neighborhood (the wall, the AC on the roof, palm tree, etc).

Toyota News: Toyota Could Hot Up the Corolla Hatchback
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
Ya, they had a strange transition period in the mid 80s where the sedans and wagons were FWD while the 2 and 3dr hatchbacks were RWD. At some points during the 80s, Toyota had like 5-6 different Corolla body styles in the US..different era.- 15 replies

GM News: Mark Reuss Takes On Role of President of GM
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
Sounds tasty. Charlie's Dog House is a couple miles from me here in Cleveland, tasty hot dogs. On the subject of gas stations and filling up, I encountered a pump last week that took about a minute a gallon...after 10 min, I had put in 10 gallons and gave up. Slowest pump I've ever seen.- 57 replies

Toyota News: Toyota Could Hot Up the Corolla Hatchback
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
There have been sporty versions of the Corolla in the past..over 30 years ago w/ the SR5 (AE86 Trueno) hatchback, and the FX16 hatchback, for example.- 15 replies

Given the vastness of our galaxy and the universe in which it is but one galaxy, I can't imagine that Earth is the only planet with sentient life form units. Given the vast distances of interstellar space, is it possible other life form units could travel to Earth? No idea. I could only imagine that technology of other dwellers of the universe to be quite different from our own. Have they visited Earth? No idea.

I was behind a silver GP of that generation this afternoon.

Looks good inside and out...familiar yet new. Interesting to see the portrait mode screen. Towing numbers seem low. Side profile similar to current gen, but nicer..current gen looked awkward from some angles, IMO.

Fourth-Quarter 2018: General Motors
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
That's just marketing blather, though...are the CUVs really that different besides the styling? Same AWD/FWD/transverse engine appliances.... -
Fourth-Quarter 2018: General Motors
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
Lol...well, I'd admit at some level I'd secretly like to be Tom Selleck (Magnum PI) in the red Ferrari 308 GTS circa 1982....or Don Johnson (Sonny Crockett) in the Ferrari Testarossa in Miami circa 1985... or at least have their hair. -

True, no whimsy. And I couldn't care less what consumers know. This is an enthusiast site, after all... -
Fourth-Quarter 2018: General Motors
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
I was talking about Buick and GMC crossovers..two brands of the same company, same platforms, same engines, same dealerships!!!!!!! Same meat, different toppings, likewise for Chevy. You made a totally invalid analogy. Besides, Mercedes has vans and many more 2 seat roadsters than BMW. -

Invalid analogy; MB and BMW are different companies with different product. -

90% of GCs over the last 5 years have been metallic black or white, or so it seems. I love the brown, want my next one brown.
