  1. Trying to come up with a good name for an electric Challenger...maybe 'AC/DC' with the lightning bolt for the slash. Or 'High Voltage'.
  2. Mercedes has evolutionary styling, nothing wrong with that. Nothing is the same between the 90s and current model, but certain styling cues are still present. I like evolutionary styling...Audi, BMW, MB and Porsche usually do it quite well..
  3. Probably $100k w/ a 50 mile range, and weighing 7500lbs w/ 2000 lb towing capacity..
  4. How is the forward visibility from the driver's seat? The front end seems awfully tall..
  5. I remember parking in a garage in downtown Sacramento back in the early 00s and seeing a row 3-4 of these along a couple of the funky chunky Honda electric car of that time..all had CA government plates.
  6. Hasn't been an issue for BMW, and Mercedes is going back to straight 6s. The main driving issue for V6s seems to have been having 6 cylinder engines that can fit in FWD transverse engine applications.
  7. The length of an I6 is not an issue for RWD vehicles. Not undesirable at all.
  8. Depends on the vehicle..in a low roofed car, I have to sit low so my head isn't touching the headliner. In an SUV, I like to sit up moderately high. In pretty much any vehicle, I like to be high enough to look through the top 1/3rd of the windshield. I generally like the seat bottom fairly flat (not tilted) and the backrest slightly tilted.
  9. Woulda. Coulda. Shoulda. The EV-1 was a product of old GM..the dead company.
  10. The LC is probably way more reliable and cheaper to maintain in the long run... Probably just means production started in 2007 for the 2008 model year...
  11. Yes, mild cosmetic updates...don't think there has been any substantive hardware updates?
  12. Better front styling than the Silverado HD, but still too thick/tall and too busy in the details, IMO.
  13. Because of factors such as high fuel costs and available public transit (rail, etc), urbanization (not suburban sprawl), they have little to no demand for full size pickups or full size SUVs...demand for them in the US is a side affect of cheap US fuel, etc. Modern roads of Europe and Asia aren't pre-WWII size.
  14. As far as M-B goes, I suppose one could say M-B is a full spectrum automaker--from subcompacts to top-line luxury sedans, SUVs, cargo vans, etc. It's just they have everything under one brand rather than GM's 4 brands or Toyota's 2 brands. Though they do have additional heavy truck brands in some markets (like Freightliner). Outside of 2-3 sedans at Cadillac, will the Malibu be the only GM NA sedan in a short time?
  15. Because they still sell cars in markets that want small cars and efficient vehicles? Not all markets are as enamored with CUVs, SUVs and huge pickups as the US.
  16. I wonder how high it is from the pavement to the top of the hood? 6 feet? This thing looks so tall it needs a forward vision camera to see pedestrians, small cars, small buildings, etc in front of it... From a design perspective, it is different than the Chevy, not sure if it's better or not...it's very busy. And the grille surround seems disjointed. Too many details.
  17. Speaking of Microsoft products, I've been in online training all day and will be the rest of the week for a CMS (Content Management System) (Sitecore) that has plugins for development in Visual Studio w/ C#. A bit of a change of pace for me (I'm used to Eclipse and Java and IBM Websphere development). But my client is using this CMS for their public website currently, and would like me to get up to speed on it.....though a bit awkward to use MS dev tools after years away from them.
  18. I only use Windows for work..have a Windows 10 VM in my client's data center that I RDP into from my Mac laptop..I've been away from Windows at home for about 7 years now..avoiding it whenever possible..;)
  19. I can see VWAG building a Bugatti EV to out do Tesla’s new roadster. Something insane with performance like 0-60 in 1 sec and 300mph top speed...
  20. Yeah, the Denalis have oversized and overwrought grilles...I saw a '17-18 Sierra Denali parked next to a '19 Sierra Denali..the '19 seemed noticeably taller and larger..
  21. 100 sounds scary. I'm 48 now, so I hope to have at least 30 more years (my Dad passed at 78). I need to get in better shape, lose weight, eat better...
  22. Well, it was a SAAB 9-3 underneath, probably had decent rear seat room like the SAAB. Rear leg room is usually where FWD platforms are better compared to RWD of similar size.
  23. So a Challenger EV could be potentially 4500lbs...cool. The Giorgio platform was too small and lightweight anyway compared to the current LX/LC.
  24. If they do a next gen, maybe they will use the Explorer/Aviator platform..
  25. I think my record was about 15k miles a year (2011)...I was commuting 50 miles a day round trip from central Phoenix to Chandler and back. Back in 2002 I had a commute of 120 miles a day round trip for 3 months until I moved (from Colorado Springs to Denver).
