  1. GM has had the Colorado based TrailBlazer in Asia for years, but it has a very ugly greenhouse, IMO..
  2. The Nautilus dash is basically the same as the MKX, which follows the Fusion/MKZ early 10s styling themes that many current Ford products have.. The Aviator is all new, and does have the attached tablet screen. Still doesn't look very retro to me.
  3. Front end looks better than the current Acadia, grille would be nicer without those stupid tabs on the bottom of the grille surround, though....
  4. Must be the 1970s in a parallel universe.. nothing about this looks 1970s to me. Late 70s cars were very square and upright inside and usually had bench seats. The Nautilus doesn't seem retro to me, just an update to the MKX... I like the berry red seats and trim.
  5. Basically the same vehicle mechanically, right? Same wheelbase..the Acadia has a couple inches more rear overhang for the 3rd row. I couldn't see considering one over a Ford Edge or a Grand Cherokee..
  6. Out on the freeway last night I saw a grubby orange Lamborghini Aventador in traffic...lots of salt and winter grime on it. Unusual to see a Lambo out and and about in February in Cleveland..
  7. Without cars, Buick would be completely redundant w/ GMC and pointless...
  8. Interesting...a related bit of trivia--around 30 years ago the Mitsubishi Galant was sold in Canada badged as the Dodge 2000 GTX and Eagle 2000 GTX.
  9. Probably doesn't have a heated seat...no cupholders it looks like either. Meh.
  10. I think Ocn was exaggerating. Never seen SBSP, but I see no resemblance.
  11. And GM will make it hideous like the Silverado.
  12. For a 10 yr old truck, it still looks good...
  13. I could see that doing well. I like the idea of the V6/manual combination. If I ever wanted a pickup down the road, I'd consider a used Gladiator.
  14. Yes, but the Gladiator is closer to the H3T formula of a 4dr cab. Though the Gladiator has the cool removable roof. Anyway, Hummer is dead and buried so it's a moot point. I like the new Gladiator.
  15. It's funny how much the Gladiator resembles the H3T in design and concept.
  16. At least they haven't renamed the Escalade to XT8 or something like that. Escalade has a lot of brand equity, it would be madness to change that. I'd like to see the return of traditional names for the sedans, but I don't see that happening anytime soon... Would be nice...but GM is so wedded to generic FWD crossovers, I don't see it...unless they could build something off the Colorado/Canyon platform.
  17. I do think changing the name from CTS to 'CT5' is not a good idea...CTS seems like it has decent brand recognition/equity after 15+ years.
  18. Well, it was on a Corolla platform, so which way rebadging went doesn't matter. Can't imagine there was much 'heavy lifting' for such a routine generic appliance.... I think it was more than the nose, most of the body panels were different between the Vibe and Matrix. Toyota also had a version in Japan w/ the Vibe body, the Voltz. (Assembled at NUMMI in CA and exported to Japan). Japan also had the WiLL VS which was related.
  19. The old model of two strong bookend brands (Chevy and Cadillac) and 4 (which grew to 7 w/ Saturn, Saab and Hummer) mid market filler brands was no longer working in the 00s. Seems to be working better now with 2 filler brands, though there is still a lot of redundancy.
  20. Yeah, haven’t seen one in a few years. I remember a couple nice 55-56 Fords at Barrett-Jackson a few years ago. A Victoria with the tinted roof panel and a convertible.
  21. Anyway, not a Pontiacyota thread. Back to the original subject, the 2019 CTS-V. Quite an impressive machine. How will they top it with its replacement, presumably to be called the CT5-V?
  22. Ecotec was a GM engine, though. Wouldn’t have been used in a Toyota. And the Toyota in F&F was a straight 6 turbo RWD Supra, long way from a Corolla shitbox.
  23. Looks like Elmer went wild with a JC Whitney catalog.
