Went to the Cleveland Auto Show today, did some car spotting. Was fun. Liked the C8s…they had an orange Z06, gray e-Ray and a silver convertible. The ‘24 Mustang Dark Horse looked good. Sat in the Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve..very nice interior. With the center console, felt tighter than my '14 GC. I like the interior materials, though the piano black on the center console would be covered in fingerprints easily. Sat in the Cadillac Lyriq--very striking design. I like it..bigger than it looks in photos. Sat in the CT5 and CT4, very nice. The CT5 C-pillar has grown on me, though the new Civic has the same C-pillar trim. The BMW XM was ghastly in person. The auto show was dull overall compared to past years, too many huge ugly trucks and boring CUVs…

That first gen Aurora was a beautiful car...GM a bunch of designs in the 90s I liked a lot...the Aurora, last gen Riviera, the '92 and '98 STS generations, the final Eldorado, a couple generations of Park Avenue. I like the final boats also like the Roadmaster, Caddy Brougham, Caprice and Impala SS...huge cars, but they looked slick.

The second video definitely makes the first video make more sense...watching the first video w/o the second it looks like the vehicles are pulled into the wall above. Reminds me a bit of 'Deadman's Curve' here on I-90 in downtown Cleveland..3-4 lanes going downhill into a tunnel, then a nearly 90 degree right turn after the tunnel, then the freeway merges into another freeway parallel to the lake... I've been in the middle lane slowing to 35 while cars pass me in the left (outer lane) standing on their brakes at 70... I imagine it can get quite dicey in winter when it gets icy.. Makes sense for practicality, though...sort of an XT6 EV equivalent?

The Model 3 is bland and generic, looks like all of Teslas other dated designs..but the generic consumers seem to like them.

This one is Chinese, though.

Decent appliance for generic consumers that want something to go from point a to point b. Decent interior. The styling is so generic it could be badged as one of many brands. It serves it's purpose in GM's brand ladder--a bit fancier than an equivalent Chevy, less truckular than GMCs, cheaper and less flashy than Cadillac.

The production version looks normalized, with only the front end similar to the concept.

Yeah, I just couldn't see spending that much and getting a 4cyl...I'd rather have at least a V6. Nice interior, but I'm biased, for a midsize 2 row SUV I'd be looking only at a WL GC.

They just aired it.. definitely sounds like an ED commercial...

Been wintry so far this month, haven't seen much interesting so far...but the last few days have been unseasonably mild... yesterday saw a sharp silver C8 convertible w/ the top open blasting up I-90 (sunny and 40 or so out). On the way back to the CLE I got passed by a sinister black BMW X6M coupe going 100 or more... I went to the beach yesterday, sunny and 35 at Lake Erie...walked across the sand and down the to the water...didn't dip my toes in, but had to see and hear the surf...beautiful blue sky. No clouds. Even cold there is beauty on the lake. I had to get out of the house and get to the water, my sister keeps sending me ocean pics from her winter condo in SC... Here's a couple tranquil lake pics...the sky was that clear and blue...determined not to hibernate inside this winter.

Looking forward to seeing it in person.

I don’t care for bright lime greens. Would love to see a C8 in a dark green w/ tan interior like the late C4 or C5 convertibles. They look so good in that color combo

Yeah, I don't like gray but if it's a green, that would be neat. I'll have to play w/ the BYO tool.

I'd love to see a return of a Cadillac coupe...this concept is too gaudy and overwrought, but imagine a 2dr version of the CT5 or CT4...

^ those concepts are pretty cool. Unfortunately, the reality will be more soulless, generic gray or white CUVs....

I always liked using the rail system in Denver..it's pretty extensive at connecting downtown to the burbs. They now have a line connecting the airport to downtown and the rest of the light rail system. I'm planning on taking a week or so out to Colorado in the spring/summer to visit old friends, play tourist...but I probably won't ride the light rail much..going to probably rent an SUV.

I've never found them to be particularly luxurious or stylish. Just an appliance w/ a cheap interior. The exterior styling of the Model S looked good 10 years ago, vaguely Jaguarish...but after 10 years it's tired. And the other models are just variations on a theme, with gimmicky features ('falcon' doors, the stupid door handles, etc). For luxury, I'm more of a Cadillac fan...

The e-Ray sounds like it could be the most interesting of the C8s so far..

I like the pics of the Blazer interior..I like the use of color....I saw a Mach-e interior up close a while back, it looked very generic and nothing special, nothing 'Mustang'...just gray blah. We have our local regional auto show here starting in late Feb..I've got to go, been 3 years since I've been. Always fun to stroll around, and I want to sit in the WL Grand Cherokees.

Sign 'o the times--saw a ratty Tesla Model S (covered in road salt, cracked rear bumper duct taped) w/ a 'STUDENT DRIVER' sign...a kid learning to drive in an EV.

Fogo is good. I’ve been to the ones in Denver, Scottsdale and San Diego. None in Ohio, closest is Pittsburgh. Got the day off tomorrow, been sleeping in till 8:30 the last couple days. Sleep is good. Been watching some 80s movies….watched Body Double earlier, watching 8 Million Ways to Die now, going to watch Body Heat later…films I haven’t seen in at least 30 years…
