  1. So home charging, office garage charging and mall charging makes more sense for those of us that prefer an 'inactive lifestyle'
  2. 1966. The original.
  3. Went to some wineries up along the north coast this afternoon, saw 2 Solstices—one a dark green and one silver, a gray Lamborghini Murcielago pulling out of a driveway in a small beach town then shrieking past, a clean gold w white top 76-77 Regal 2dr, and a sharp Caddy CTS-v coupe. One of the more interesting sightings on the freeway was a dark green '70s White-Freightliner COE pulling a matching green flatbed. Don't see COE tractors on the road very often these days..
  4. There can't be many phones left w/ removable battery..can't recall when I've had a phone w/ one..maybe 10 years ago.
  5. The first local Cars & Coffee of the season is this morning, thought about going since it's only a few miles from me, but though it's sunny out it's only 45...meh.
  6. A guy down the street and around the corner has a very sharp red GTO that I see pretty often. And there is a gray G8 GXP a couple streets over.
  7. That '96 Taurus was dreadful..Ford wanted to make everything an oval..
  8. There is a rusted, denty white G8 around here I see once in a while..
  9. One other car that I thought pulls off the 4dr coupe look well is the BMW 6 series Gran Coupe, esp. in M6 trim. Sleeker than the 5 series.
  10. The first CLS is still one of the sexiest sedans ever, IMO...love that shape..and 2nd gen is beautiful also..the 3rd gen looks great also...It doesn't look good in some colors like the stupid matte colors or so-predictable and beyond lame white w/ black wheels (can the damn white w/ black wheels fad please end??) but in brown is stunning. I love the arched roofline and low windows of all 3 windows.
  11. The fastback roofline and short trunk is supposedly for aerodynamics...or it's part of a vast product marketing conspiracy to minimize trunk size and get more people into CUVs/SUVs...
  12. The Bolt is a one-box monospace. Tall hatchback. Car? CUV? Transport pod? It's something...
  13. The odd thing is only the left side seemed to look iridescent. The hood, front fascia, roof and rear fascia looked a normal blue-green. Didn't see the right side.
  14. The DoorDash dasher tonight was driving a previous gen Malibu in an iridescent blue-green...never seen that color Malibu before, maybe custom paint.
  15. Looking at my reality, an EV with a home charger would work great for me...since I work from home, i don't drive much Mon-Fri. On the weekends I rarely take a road trip over 250 miles. Though I'm probably not the ideal customer.
  16. Yes, if they had a decent sized EV CUV that looks like a normal CUV (the Bolt is a humpy tall hatchback), sales would be better.
  17. I know they are still a thing in parts of Colorado in the winter.. A more probable myth for today is GM vehicles need lots of wheel well space for rebound when driven on the cratered roads of Michigan..
  18. 'may you live in interesting times'. It really is going to be interesting to see what the auto industry looks like in terms of product mix and powertrains in 5 years, 10 years, 15 years...
  19. Yes, it definitely had that feel like the original CLS...a sleek 4dr, with a 2dr-ish roofline. And an alternative to the similar sized, more sedate 88 and 98..the original Aurora, the last Toronado, and the last Riviera might be my favorite '90s GM designs...all interesting and distinctive designs. I liked the angular and clean Seville/STS and Eldorado of the mid to late 90s also. The odd thing is all of these cars were FWD w/ transverse engine, which is a contradiction to my preferences in cars. A paradox I struggle with.
  20. Wasn't the old story about GM products and big wheel wells is they did it that way for clearance for tire chains?
  21. Yeah, like my old Jeep came standard with 16" wheels, back in 2000. The current ones come with 17s base, but I'm used to the 20s on mine, wouldn't want smaller now. In the truck's lifetime--who knows...I think I had 4-5 sets of tires in 17 years on my old Jeep.
  22. Cost-cutting? Smaller wheels and tires are cheaper. I still can't wrap my head around a 4cyl in large vehicles...4cyl to me is for small cars and CUVs..subcompacts and compacts..I wouldn't want one in a full size truck, or a luxury car for that matter (though Volvo seems to pull it off). But that's just me..I've never bought into 4 cyls in midsize or larger vehicles.
  23. That is very odd they make the 4.3 the base engine and the 2.7 an option. Pay more to get a 4cyl? What a joke...
  24. The ‘coupe’ ones are usually different models from the regular 4dr sedan in a model range, though. CLS compared to E-class. A7 compared to A6. CLA compared to A class. And the ‘4dr coupes’ often have frameless door glass like the CLS. The Sonata is just a regular midsize sedan.
  25. This just seems like another mainstream fastback 4dr like the Malibu, Fusion, Accord, and countless others, rather than a 'coupe' style.
