Coming out of the casino this evening saw some interesting cars lined up in the valet lines--a matte graphite current-gen Mercedes SL, a clean black early 90s Porsche 911 (964) cabrio, a sharp dark red C7 coupe, and a clean white '89-ish IROC Z convertible w/ red stripes (saw the same car there last year).

It's funny, winter and salty roads have been over a few weeks now, but I did see a filthy, salty dented Tesla Model S the other day, just another winter beater w/ curbed rims, cracks in the fascias...

Rainy and foggy so far this May....Friday was particularly gloomy and foggy/rainy...saw a white C7 convertible (top up) out in the gloom. This morning saw a dark red '19 Camaro SS at the grocery, still had a window sticker and temporary tag, yet the rear bumper was cracked and scuffed.

That's cool...my coworker in Scottsdale that is into camping and off roading goes to that event every year. He's the Land Cruiser fan, has a restored '70s FJ 40 and an '86 FJ 60 resto mod w/ a GM LS e-rod engine and 6spd automatic.

VW News: VW May Be Cutting Most of Golf Lineup in US

GTIs also appeal to older enthusiasts as well... a buddy of mine in Denver after 20+ years of Jettas, just bought a Golf R. he's 52. He and his wife have a Q7 for family hauler duty also.- 14 replies

30s Ford hot rods aren't really in my area of interest, but found this photo quite striking.. I like this Packard..

Chevrolet News:Chevy updates the Camaro for 2020

Yeah, when I left there 2 years ago I was commuting on Camelback to Scottsdale every day...mornings weren’t bad, but the afternoon drive home was awful..45-60 min to go 12 miles. -

Heh-heh...I remember the Sands dealers.. my neighborhood one was Courtesy Chevrolet on Camelback--like their cool signs.. was within walking distance from my house in cool weather. I remember in the winter walking down there and to the Cadillac dealer across the street looking at cars. -

There were so many older drivers in Arizona w/ Corvettes..such a stereotype...true here in NE Ohio also. One sight I'll never forget from a few years ago was in Scottsdale...I was sitting at a carwash while my Jeep was going through, see this yellow Corvette C7 Z06 convertible roll up. A guy that looked to be around 80 opens the door, lifts his walker out of the passenger seat, puts it own the ground then drags himself out of the car into a semi standing position w/ the walker... I've sat in C7s at car shows, find them hard to get in and out of at 48. -
Zotye Says The T600 Will be Offered in the US :Comments

Zotye is an odd name for a vehicle brand in English..will be interesting to see if that works here. Reminds me of the musician Gotye. -
When I'm waiting in a line, waiting at the airport, or waiting at the doctor--I'm on my phone...what else is there to do in those circumstances but surf the web, read C&G, check email, check Facebook, check my home Ring cameras, check my ADT, etc. I just find it really hard to be 'offline' these days, I've been online for so long... part of that comes from being in IT--I'm on a computer all day for work, so being on my computer, iPad, iPhone in my off hours comes naturally...a few times I don't use my phone is when I'm driving, on a plane (though I'm on my iPad or Kindle then), at a concert, play, movie or other artistic performance. It's fun to disconnect for a couple hours...but longer than that is hard. I have tried going a weekend without internet or phone and it's near impossible.

I don't miss being on call...hated that with some companies. Now if there is a production issue Level 1 looks at it and creates a ticket. With my client's life insurance systems there really is no after hours support, not like when I was in banking and utilities.

Yeah, 2 door sports coupes aren't for 20 somethings like they once were. -

Yes..since this won't be an EV version of the Colorado and Silverado, they may go a different path with a BEV based EV...and what name? Will be interesting to see what comes.. -

Not sure what the difference between the new LT1 trim and SS are, other than badges and the front end. I like that dark red. -
Having had a smart phone for over a decade, and cell phones since the mid 90s, I really can't remember life without them, or when I still used a land line phone. Hard to imagine the hardships of what living was like in ancient times.

You have almost as many miles as I have on my 5 yr old Jeep...42.5k now. In the 2 years I've had it, it's been very reliable. Happy w/ my FCA CPO.

That's a lot of CPO sales. Then again, I don't recall seeing CPO sales listed along w/ the regular new vehicle sales.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Drops 2.0T from CT6 In the US

Yes, a super bling Escalade Triple Platinum w/ the Blackwing v8, LWB 2 row, would make a lot of sense for the brand.. -

I can't see GM playing in that space... too much investment would be needed for too little return. High volume FWD/transverse engine lease appliances and big BOF SUVs for towing boats is GM's niche. -

Cadillac News: Cadillac Drops 2.0T from CT6 In the US
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
They won't do that, though..if there is an XT7, it will be just another generic transverse engine crossover...a variation of the Traverse/Enclave. Escalade is taller and wider, though. Center of gravity probably a foot higher than the European CUVs. And the Benyagagaga has a 4.0 sec 0-60 and the Urus can accelerate from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and 0–200 km/h (124 mph) in 12.8 seconds. I've read rumors the next gen Escalade will finally get an IRS... -

Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
I just can't see GM getting in the high performance SUV game...they don't have a unibody RWD/AWD CUV, and it wouldn't make sense to use their generic FWD/transverse engine CUV platform or their full size BOF truck/SUV platform. -
