  1. I meant stop selling to (and thus shipping product to) these corrupt dealers. Make them hurt...the current franchising model is obsolete and stupid, IMO...
  2. Yet somehow the Wrangler continues to succeed with the primitive approach and removable tops. Sounds like the new Bronco may have a version with such a configuration. Will be interesting to see if it works for them.
  3. And the Broncos, Scouts, Ramchargers, Blazers and Jimmies didn't even have normal convertible tops but primitive tops that snapped on and had to be manually removed. Very different from a proper power folding top like the Murano CC, Evoque, or T-Roc have...
  4. If they see dealers surcharging, they should stop shipping cars to them for a year to penalize them.
  5. Saw a dark gray Aston Martin Vanquish on a windy backroad yesterday, and went past a house with an interesting group of GM cars in the driveway--a really clean late 90s tan Cadillac Sedan de Ville, a bright red '04-06 GTO, a black Chevy SS, and a modified '80s Regal--possibly a GN---in a custom bronze/gold paint job w/ cowl hood, black centered BBS wheels--very sharp.
  6. The Wrangler does well in this niche. But I like the idea of a convertible SUV w/ a power top. A 2dr Grand Cherokee cabrio would be sweet...
  7. Sorta kinda a replacement for the late Beetle and Eos cabriolets. Those were neat cars...I can see the appeal of such a convertible...not a performance car, but a cruiser..saw a brown Eos on the ferry out to Kelleys Island last Saturday..on a sunny, 75 degree summer day it could be fun.
  8. Yeah, by making extra payments I've knocked off almost a year so far. My goal is to pay off the 30 year in 15-20 years, which is doable, though I may move before then.
  9. Neat...kind of a budget Evoque cabriolet. Not sure how big the market for a crossover cabrio is... but, I like seeing offbeat stuff like this.
  10. I've made a extra payments to get my 30 to 26 years now (2 1/2 years into it)...may look into a 15 year. But I may be getting another mortgage for a vacation home sooner than later...
  11. No, just an idiot. They were seized when he was arrested last year, but he may get them back after probation ends next year..but that's neither here nor there. Anyway, the automakers shift to CUVs and SUVs seems short sighted if a downturn is coming...smaller, cheaper cars seem more likely to sell in a down market...
  12. My idiot brother had 45...
  13. Yeah, the older ZJ (93-98) and WJ (99-04) GCs had solid front axles. They went to IRS with the WK ('05-10). I've had both a WJ ('00) and now a WK2 ('14) and love them..... Wranglers are fun off road toys, wouldn't mind having one for the weekends, but no bueno as a daily driver, IMO. Though I have a few friends that daily Wrangler Unlimiteds and love them. I prefer the GC's refinement and creature comforts.
  14. Heh heh..just a pile of a few weeks of Prime delivery boxes, need to recycle...
  15. Current TLX has been around since 2014, so it's probably based on the 9th generation Accord platform that was around 5 years ago..
  16. My new wheel barrel is on point with the blackout trim and wheel package fad seen on current utility vehicles...
  17. An early 'donk'... heh-heh...
  18. Yeah, the only instances of DW with GCs I've heard of were with the ZJs and WJs which had solid front axles, and was pretty uncommon w/ them...it's a Wrangler thing.
  19. That's all theoretical at this point, though...if it ever gets into production, then maybe such numbers might mean something...but who cares. Outside of a few journos or M-B test drivers, it will never see a track.
  20. BMW already has plenty of CUVs and SUVs, they don’t need LR.
  21. It would be more compelling if it were a pure EV than a passé hybrid.... ..and that it makes 1000hp makes it an also-ran, the Chiron already makes 1500hp, without the hybrid gimmick. The AMG One is just a lot of hype that means nothing. AMG Zero would be a better name.
  22. Considering the C7 is out of production, it’s a moot point.
  23. Wonder if it has 2 V8s under the hood...I've toyed around w/ building something like that in 1/25th scale w/ a couple Revell models.
  24. Which doesn't matter...no one buying a hypercar cares about the EV gimmick.
  25. Saw a neat pic today of a custom Green Buick of that era w a chopped 3 window roof on the FB. Will post if I can find it again.
