Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Ah, the convertible version of the upcoming Mustang-inspired CUV EV....sweet... -
He was at the University of Akron EJ Thomas Hall. Nice venue, built in the 70s, the inside reminded me a lot of the Phoenix Symphony Hall which is from the same era.

Happy Belated Birthday, Drew!

Went and saw Bob Dylan in concert Saturday night. Great show. He has a great touring band, all electric, no acoustic. Always liked him, had never seen him.

My gig may be up at the end of the year...but it will probably get extended another year. I do like working remotely and get along great w/ my client of the last 5 years. My client is working to move away from the software platform I've been developing applications on (they are tired of IBM's byzantine licensing model) and want to move most of development to the Barbados and India teams, but are so inept with managing product rollouts that they will be lucky to migrate off of IBM in a year... I've had inquiries from several recruiters about financial and insurance sector software dev jobs here in the Cleveland area, so I'm not too worried, but I do love working from home 100%, esp. weeks like this with heavy snow in the forecast.

Saw a dark blue C7 Z06 at the grocery this morning.

The Miata does skew older, esp. those seeking the pure sports car experience....it's like an old British sports car without the unreliability and misery.

In olden days, penny pinchers bought econoboxes w/ manuals because they were usually the cheapest, and got better gas mileage than automatics. That is odd about the 86, would have thought it would have similar numbers as the Miata.

Couch verb 1. express (something) in language of a specified style. -
Reality is complex, as I like to say.

One could argue that it isn't though...'world' can be used in non-global contexts.

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Since it's all future stuff, have to couch it in non-definite terms. Reality is complex. -
The earth isn't flat, it's a globe. And there is a world outside of the US, which many people seem unaware of..actual facts.

Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
Yes, 2017 was the last one I went to...went to at least a dozen between '97 and '17. I do miss the January auction scene. -

Hmmm...I wonder if GM will display one at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale in January. I may be out there then, visiting my client's office in Scottsdale. -

The Cleveland show isn't until March, so yes, you have a chance of seeing one before me. And the Cleveland show is a dealer show, so there may not be one there. -
Chevrolet News:C8 Corvette Delayed Until February 2020
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
I'm really looking forward to seeing the C8 in person...guess it will be a while until I do.. I think it is a design that will look better in person than in photos...I like the proportions and over all shape...lots of creases. About the only detail I really don't like in photos is the concave curve of the tail above the taillights...I think the rear would have looked better if the deck had been flat or slightly convex across. -

Chrysler News: Fiat Chrysler Posts Record Earning for Q3 2019
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chrysler
I like the styling of the Guilia quite a bit, esp. the front with the offset license plate. I like the interior styling. Sounds like the quality and reliability isn't the greatest...but from what I've read, they a seriously fun car to drive. Like a BMW 3 series before BMW lost it's focus... -
I'm just going to enjoy it as a movie and not over analyze it... I know it's not a documentary. There have been plenty of those over the years, along w/ books. Going to see it in my local theater w/ the huge reclining assigned seats, THX sound and big screen will be fun.

The problem with shopping at local retailers is I'd have to leave the house and deal with crowds, deal with parking lots, etc. Ordering from my phone or computer is so much more efficient for me. Content comes to me, rather than me going out and seeking content. And Prime is great for streaming movies and tv shows. Though I do enjoy trips to Ace Hardware and Home Depot for home stuff and don't mind my local grocery.

Infiniti News: Infiniti Releases Teaser Image of New QX55

An SRX with a roofline like the CTS coupe would have been really cool. -
