  1. Studebaker GT Hawk...I think that is a '63...some subtle differences each of the 3 years it was in production ('62-64). The '64 didn't have the aluminum trunk trim.
  2. Had a good Christmas, low key..great weather here, 60 and sunny now...unseasonably mild for Cleveland. Unfortunately, fighting a cold and sinus infection. Not fun on a week off... but getting a lot of rest...
  3. The white Caprice appears to be a '95-96 with the revised quarter window and opened-up rear wheel arches. The blue wagon is a '69-70 full size Chevy, and the AMC is a '64 Rambler Classic.
  4. The Galaxie had aluminum trim there and my favorite was the LTD w/ a taillight there. Earlier big Fords had a cove area between the taillights also, though...'61-64 in particular...higher trim levels had bright trim, lower levels had painted metal there.
  5. Another sunny, mild day in the 50s, another little road trip...250+ miles round trip down to Steubenville along the Ohio River to Ft Stueben to see the memorial brick we bought for my Dad (he was the school superintendent there in the 70s). Had some delicious local comfort food from my childhood (DiCarlos Pizza and meatball sandwiches from Capris). Drove by my childhood home, steep streets w/ brick houses, looks so much like Pittsburgh neighborhoods. Saw a beautiful sunset on US 250 driving along Tappan Lake...love rural Ohio even in the winter.. another day w/ a New Wave soundtrack..
  6. The '67 GP cove panel is very similar to the '67 GTO...I've seen some '67 GTOs with that panel painted black, but I don't think that was factory. Love the tail treatments on the '62s... I love the tail of the '68 Catalina with the taillights dipping into the bumper.
  7. Interesting..no A/C, but it does have the dash vents.. I remember a lot of older cars didn't have dash vents without A/C...
  8. Nice weather—-sunny and 46 and the snow melted....drove a couple hundred miles around NE/north central Ohio...shopping for wine, cheese and sausage. From Grandpa’s Cheesehouse in Ashland to the Amish country/Swiss Ohio area around Berlin and Sugarcreek. Went and visited my parents’ graves in Port Washington. ( the 19th made 20 years since my Dad passed). Beautiful day to be driving winding, hilly Ohio backroads, and the Jeep drove great....great day to be Alive and Kicking as the song goes ( had a New Wave soundtrack for today).
  9. Don't recall hearing 'finned' in this context, a 'recessed' or 'tunneled' backlight is how I'd describe it. 'frenched' I associate w/ 50s style custom cars where they sunk an antenna in a hole or recessed the headlights into the fender hole. It is interesting how there was a period from '66-73 where the Big 3 did the recessed backlights on at least one model each ('68-70 Dodge Charger, '71-73 Mustang and Cougar, '69-70 XL and Marauder, '66-67 GM A-body coupes). Kind of like how other design details became temporary fads like the stacked headlights in the early-mid 60s and again in the mid-late 70s on mid sizers...
  10. I like the K5's styling...some of the details are weird--I don't like the large vents on the sides of the bumper, from the side, but they are less noticeable on dark colored cars...like that blue and gray. The roofline reminds me of the MKZ. I like the lighting details and the small upper grille..
  11. Went down to Kent and saw The Fixx last night, so listening to some fun '80s New Wave/Synth Pop today..
  12. Peter Schreyer and Luc Donkerwolke both came to Hyundai/Kia from Audi, so....
  13. I forgot the K900 was sold in the US...Kia has a lot of sedans in the US...
  14. Does seem silly...the Forte is the K3 in SK, and the Credenza is the K9 I believe...
  15. I could see the next gen versions of the 3 current smaller Jeeps on such a platform. Maybe a Dodge Journey replacement also. It will be interesting to see if any sedans come to the US and under what brands, given the current US sedan market contraction...I do like the looks of the 508.
  16. I wonder when McLaren will build a mid engined CUV...
  17. With a few exceptions, GM has given up on cars and competing in the car market. It’s all CUVs, SUVs and trucks for them now...
  18. It’s a 1st gen Cayenne.
  19. Random faux woodies...
  20. Interesting how the air intake tubes at the front are asymmetrical and length and location. Strange. Everything is so tightly packed in there looks like a maintenance nightmare.
  21. Considering I previously went 17 years between buying daily drivers, I probably won't change soon...I plan to keep this current '14 Jeep to 100k..it's almost to 50k now. So I'm probably 3-5 years from looking seriously at something new/er.
  22. I assume it will be a rebodied Panda Cross... The 4x4 Panda is available with a badazz turbo 0.9L 2 cylinder among other engines..
  23. The subtitles are hysterical...
  24. How about 'Vehicle Approaching--stand back' on loop when driving in pedestrian-clogged areas?
  25. Supposed to be a heat wave today... up to 40. Was a bit sunny earlier, but cloudy now. Just a bit envious of my sister, she's starting a new 3 month gig in January in West Palm Beach. No polar vortex down there.
