Sweet Electra...that's a '77--one year only with those rear side marker lights, on the '78-79 the taillights wrapped around the corner caps.

The new Yukon is nice...huge grille, but tasteful. I like the Denali-exclusive dash design.

Nice weather today... saw a clean dark gray w/ gray top '90-92 Cadillac Brougham. Also saw the rustiest Ford Explorer I've ever seen..a brown '98-01 5dr. Big chunks out of the lower doors, like 5-6 inches missing and crusty edges..same w/ the rear quarter, with rust from the wheel arch on the left side extending back to the fuel door. Rear hatch bottom rusty... no license plate.

Ah yeah, Chevy has shown the new Tahoe and Suburban, but GMC has been quiet..

Saw that..was just comparing the 2.0 versions.

As far as domestic competition, the Cadillac XT4 has a 2.0 4 with 237hp, and a 9-spd auto, and the Lincoln Corsair 2.0 is 250hp w/ an 8-spd auto. Lexus definitely comes up short.

$42k for a 2.0 4cyl, FWD and CVT....beyond mediocre..that's the kind of hardware I'd expect in a $20k econobox....

Bigger is Better as GM Revives Hummer by GMC Electric Trucks
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Industry News
I know I'm super-opinionated.. the Hummer just never remotely appealed to me, I'm a Jeep guy. (but I do like GM full size SUVs). It will be interesting to see how the EV revival goes..we live in interesting times... -
Windy, rainy and up to 68 degrees this afternoon...crazy for Cleveland in January. Went out for tacos this afternoon and spotted a clean dark gray mid 90s Buick Park Avenue that appeared rust free, also saw a clean silver blue '91-93 Caprice sedan.

Yes, it will be a low volume novelty. Rivian seems like they have a better plan..- 25 replies

GM News: General Motors Plans A Revival of Hummer
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
It's going to be interesting to see what the off-road capable EV SUV scene looks like in a few years..we have new players like Rivian and Bollinger coming, and with hybrid and EV Jeeps coming...I wonder if Land Rover plans to do hybrid and EV versions of the Defender..- 25 replies

Bigger is Better as GM Revives Hummer by GMC Electric Trucks

The E39 is about the perfect midsize BMW 4dr. Love the M versions in the light and the dark blues.... the E38 7 series is great for a full size--looks trim and clean compared to today's bloated 7 series.... those 80s 6 series coupes were beautiful...I also love the original 8 series--- big 2dr hardtop w/ popup headlights...avaiable in a V12 w/ a 6spd...excess, yes, but a wonderful 80s-90s sort of excess... -

The only current BMW I like is the M2... compact, manual, 6 cyl. The last M3 I really liked was the E46 in the oughts... I loved my E36 I had back in the 90s-early 00s...on a winding Colorado mountain road, it was very satisfying..wouldn't mind finding a well-maintained E36 or E46 M3 if I had more garage space... -

I like old BMWs when they were still all about the driving...manuals, inline 6s, no BS... -

The Highlander, Rav4 and RX were tiny in the 00s... mostly 4 cyls. -

Hummer drivers seemed to be a different type of douchey than European premium car drivers, though...it was faux macho, faux redneckery mixed with doucheyness... ? It's funny, I have a few friends that are veterans of Desert Storm and the Gulf Wars that absolute hate the military HMMMWWWW (what ever it was that became H1)--said they were unreliable and junky in the field, and hate the street Hummers--said they are posermobiles... -

Fake news. In the oughts the only full size gas guzzler type SUVs Toyota had were the Sequoia, Land Cruiser and Lexus LX and GX. 4 models compared to GM’s 8... Toyota’s midsize models, the FJ Cruiser and 4Runner probably got better mileage than the GM GMT-360s. -

Well, the H2 was hideous looking with a nasty $5 rubbermaid interior.... .so it's a brand known for garbage...the H3 was the same crap in a smaller form factor. Not some of GM's better efforts, best forgotten. Also the owners of them had kind of a douchey image. -

Interesting...it's not April 1st.... would be interesting to see if they can revive a tainted brand name.. -
Nah, it's got the 3 pointed star...
-
Definitely an E-class...very distinct taillight shape and side creases...
-
It is interesting...don't think I've ever seen one of the irregularly state plates in person...it would be easy with Colorado and Wyoming--both are rectangles, more problematic with long narrow state shapes like California, Florida, New Hampshire, etc... and Hawaii would have to be one piece...
