  1. Well, the Impala is about the same size as far as interior space with the Accord and Camry...it just has a lot of body overhang that makes it longer...and it's in the same price range...so it's competitive with them... as are the G6 and Malibu at the smaller end.. Chevy's strategy isn't that different than Ford's...Ford has both the Fusion and Five Hundred to compete against the big 3 (Camry/Altima/Accord), and the Five Hundred can also go against the Avalon..
  2. Korean cars, American brand, sold in China...how international.
  3. Because it's in the biggest car market in the country, and one where GM hasn't done so well in a while?
  4. They have no need for one, really.
  5. It's doesn't look so great with a front license plate, I'm afraid..
  6. From the articles I've read, my understanding is the Logan is intended to be a very inexpensive-to-build, inexpensive-to-buy car for developing markets (Eastern Europe, India, African countries, etc)..
  7. That's funny.... I get spammed periodically from a group called 'LDS Singles Online' (Mormons)...which is pretty funny since I'm an agnostic and my g/f is Jewish...
  8. Great to hear... I'm going with a bunch of people from work...we are using one guy's season tickets (great seats).
  9. I'm going to Green Day on the 19th then Oasis on the 20th..should be fun..
  10. I don't know about your percentages, but every article I've read indicates that the 1st gen Seville was built on a modified X-body platform...longer wheelbase and more sound deadener, etc...whatever...
  11. I saw a couple old trucks in the last week (remember when they were called 'mini-pickups' and were all Japanese in origin)?...a '70s Chevy LUV pickup, rusty but still running, and a battered, rusty mid '70s Toyota pickup... a yellow late '70s Ford Courier with NO rust....it's very strange to see rusty cars around here (Denver)...must have been from out of state.. I was thinking the other day that I rarely see cars older than 15 years in my daily commute....must be my neighborhood, where my office is, and areas I frequent...
  12. 35% more for a car that is really a gussied-up X-body (with ox-cart rear leaf spring supension)? The Seville may have had more old-school 'luxury' but the BMW was a far superior product both from a hardware perspective and more importantly, a driving perspective...
  13. Well, Dodge only had one SUV, the hideous Durango, so they definitely needed something smaller... its got the typical Dodge butch styling cues. I don't care for the looks, but it probably would do well. Though I'm a Jeep fan, I probably wouldn't go for a Liberty if I switched to a small SUV...more likely an Escape or wait for the Patriot...
  14. I'm sure they would be safer on the road than past small cars (remember shitboxes like the Geo Metro and Chevette?).... Smarts are engineered for safety..
  15. Hardly..it's not a Chrysler... vague similarity in profile to a Pacifica, but it's a totally different reality otherwise.
  16. I'm not into the high riding thing, but that LeSabre would look really good with a set of vintage Buick mags, IMHO...
  17. The current 5-series is growing on me... I never did warm up to the Bangled 7, but I'm liking the 5....the availability of a manual makes the 5-series my choice in a midsize performance-oriented luxury sedan... As far as the '70s/80s models, the older 5 series had a crisp, clean efficiency about them...they weren't luxurious in the old-fashioned sense, but they were the serious driver's choice for a sports sedan--a car that emphasized handling and overall performance and drivability.. That '80s Seville with the white walls and faux wires just looks so gaudy and tacky..(probably appealed to older buyers, though, the same way my dad had his Town Cars with white walls and the padded top throughout the '80s). I think to older generations, a Cadillac or Lincoln truly said 'you've arrived', but to my demographic (30 something, well-educated professionals, in suburbia) a BMW, Lexus, or Mercedes says that and more... Were I at the age I am now (35) then, I'd probably have been driving a 5-series....(I was reading Road & Track then--ever since age 7!).
  18. If you mean the new coupe (they aren't using the GTS name anymore), it's coming for '06...it was in several magazines a few months ago. Here's an article on allpar. allpar article on Viper SRT-10 coupe
  19. Nothing about the styling really says Buick... it would make a nice Chevy Caprice, though...(i.e. like in the Middle East)
  20. Interesting... so if you choose the 9?-x you get current/future Saab front end styling or you can choose the B-9 Tribeca if you want vintage Saab front end styling (it's inspired by the old 96 and 99)... :)
  21. I love those E34 and E39 BMWs...probably my favorite Bimmers overall besides the E36 M3.
  22. Yeah...I forgot the RWD ones were X-bodies also...I meant the '80s FWD shitboxes...
  23. That is sweet...a modern Buick Estate wagon could do well, I believe. I also think Pontiac could do well with a sporty wagon, something Audi-like..
  24. I haven't seen one of those in years... same with cars like the '77-79 Phoenix, '80s X-body Phoenix... there are many '70s cars I can think of that I haven't seen in person in many years.... like the '79-80 Chrysler Newport and nearly identical '80-81 Plymouth Grand Fury, the Dodge St. Regis (90% of them were probably demolished in '80s tv shows like 'TJ Hooker' and 'Hunter'.. :) I saw '74-76 Mercury Montego 2dr in traffic yesterday in very good shape..I thought it was a Cougar until I saw the grille. I saw a clean Buick Reatta the other day..first time I've seen one in years..
  25. When I was a kid in the late '70s, I had a neighbor that had a Europa...dark blue... then he moved and I never saw it again.... I've never seen one since, even at car shows...
