  1. You serious?? The decklid doesn't open when the top is down? That's beyond stupid if that is the case... I believe other folding roof cars (Mercs, etc) have some space that can be accessed under the folded roof when the top is down...
  2. Not going to happen. Good daydream, though.
  3. It's just wishful thinking...
  4. Hmmm.....suppose, for the sake of argument, that to spread the costs out, GM does go out on a limb and do 4 RWD sedans off this new platform---a Chevy Impala, Pontiac Grand Prix, Saturn something, and a Buick something...yeah, it's a stretch, but theoretically possible. A large Saturn sedan could be called the Aurora, it fits well with Aura and the space theme of the Saturn name, and would be a link back to Olds which occupied the same place in the hierarchy that Saturn is moving to, or so it seems... Of course, this is all random blather, sunny day daydreaming....given GM's current condition, I wouldn't be surprised if none of these or other possible RWD models (Camaro, GTO, Velite) appear...it could be in five years that GM (at least as far as C/P/S/B are concerned) is still churning out mostly FWD G-bodies, W-bodies, Epsilons, and Deltas...
  5. The Lucerne effectively replaced both... it goes beyond what the PA offered--it has a V8, for example. If Buick was going to have a RWD top-of-the-line sedan anytime soon, it would have already been shown... maybe in 2-3 years..
  6. Hmmm....they already replaced the Park Avenue...the Lucerne replaced it and the Le Sabre.
  7. It can't be any more boring than Steubenville, Ohio or Gnadenhutten, Ohio...(the Ohio towns I spent my youth in or near). Nothing going on there besides clay festivals, basket shops, abandoned factories, abandoned coal mines, a little farming, Amish furniture stores, cheese houses... pretty country side (the backroads around there are hilly and twisty and fun to drive on) but I couldn't imagine living there..the career opportunities are very limited. My mom and brother still live in the Gnadenhutten area.. my brother is into pickup trucks, huntin', fishin', and country music, so he's happy there... ,after a couple days there visiting, I'm bored out of my mind so I have to drive 50 miles to get to traces of my familiar suburbia (Starbucks, Borders, Best Buy, Target, etc)...
  8. Not remotely..vaguely similar roofline, but the GTO is larger and has different proportions...
  9. AWD Previa... I don't know about the GM dustbusters...I haven't seen one in ages.
  10. Charger/Magnum/300 are Chrysler's full size models..the midsizers (Stratus/Sebring) are very much badge-engineered...
  11. I saw a very clean '78 Electra 4dr--dark red w/ white top-- today...don't see those very often. Whitewall tires, Buick mags..
  12. A buddy of mine has one of the AWD ones with 250k miles on it...
  13. I'll admit to reading my g/f's Vanity Fair every month... though it has an image as a chick mag, there is very good writing in there...
  14. Some of the suburbs and surrounding areas are pretty nice, though... I lived out in Ann Arbor for 3 years when I was in grad school....a really nice town, and not just a college town. The lousy winters and economy keeps me from considering moving back there, though.
  15. Growing up in Ohio & Florida, I'd heard of Jack in the Box but never had it until I started visiting Phoenix regularly in the '80s. I had heard of In and Out and Fatburger but never had them until I went to California... we now have Fatburger here in Denver--pretty good. Last time I was in LA (a couple weeks ago), though, I ate at Big Boy on Wilshire. Neat 50s architecture to the building.. they had Big Boys in Ohio when I was a kid, but hadn't eaten in one in maybe 15 years.
  16. The last Caprice was 116 wb and 77 inches wide..it was a whale... I think 116 wb, 74 inches wide, and 200 inches long would be more than large enough for a RWD Caprice revival...
  17. I like the 777 also...it felt more spacious and seemed quieter than a 747... I've flown in both across the pond (British Airways) in coach... I did business class once on a BA 777..that was probably the most comfortable I've been on a big plane before..
  18. And it's a Sunday afternoon... (happened to me on the 880).
  19. Drool here also... the A8 in its current form has been my favorite big luxo sedan since its intro, and the S8 just builds upon that...beautiful inside, beautiful outside... clean, subtle, elegant and not overdone.
  20. One of the recent UK mags (Top Gear or Car, I think) has a pic of the rear...the taillights are more horizontal than the sedan. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person, I've long liked the current E46 coupe.
  21. I'm really looking forward to next Sunday's game.... I've been a big Broncos fan for the last 8 years, but grew up a Steelers fan...
  22. I've sat in A6s with wood trim and two tone (tan seats, black dash)...much nicer than the black one in that photo, IMHO...the A8 has the best Audi interior currently, IMHO, but it should be, being the top-of-the-line model..
  23. Yes, not every car needs the trunk lid cut open to the bumper... It needs a taller roof, though..the windshield opening is too low.
  24. Avis has them in some locations..I rented one last month.
  25. They have some defense stuff (satellites, etc) going on in Colorado Springs also...I have a friend that works for Boeing down there...
