Yes, 83. I lived in Washtenaw County from '94-97.

I need to go out to Great Clips at some point...haven't had a haircut since February, been trimming it myself and shaving every couple weeks or so...I was already lazy working from home, gotten worse w/ self-quarantining..

Several Ohio counties have Indian names, I grew up in Tuscarawas County, now live in Cuyahoga County..

Styling-wise, my favorite year of '70s GM B/C/E models is 1971, followed by 1972...before the bumpers got too big and they still had 2dr hardtops.

159, 2nd only to Texas which has 254. If memory serves me, Ohio has 88..I had to memorize them and facts about each in my Ohio history class in school 35+ years ago...Ohio used to have stickers on the license plates spelling out the county name, when I moved here 3 years ago they were using county number stickers instead of name stickers. Then in 2018, they switched back to county name stickers..go figure.

The '75 Grand Ville convertible was a sweet looking car...really like the front end w/ the rectangular headlights that year. My other favorite biggun of that year was the Buick Electra coupe.

Went to the post office and bank this afternoon...saw a clean bright red '79 Trans Am..could have had a 403. Or it could have been an 80-81 w/ a 301. I didn't realize until recently that there were 80-81 T/As w/ the N/A 301 and shaker hood scoop, thought they were all turbos w/ the offset scoop.

I've never driven something w/ 3 on the tree (my folks had a Ford wagon w/ it before before I was born), but seen them at car shows..would like to drive something w/ one sometime..I have driven a couple of late 60s cars with manual drum brakes, manual steering, 3spd floor shift manual, V8s, am radio, and giant fixed steering wheels...was a surreal experience, so different from what I'm used to..

I remember having crank windows, but haven't had a daily w/ them in over 25 years. But given how rarely I put windows down, it's a moot point. I guess I'm just used to having all the mod cons, as the Brits say.

Yeah, it's amazing how basic typical cars were back then compared to the typical spec today...even in the 80s there still were a lot of cars made w/manual windows, am radios without A/C. I remember those.
-
I could see buying a manual floor shift because I do like manuals----those are fun in sporty and performance cars,, but a column shift in a big family sedan seems so awkward...those cars probably also had am radios, manual windows, no A/C and vinyl bench seats..taxi spec.

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Those baby llamas are really cute. -
Yeah, I knew his solo work quite well from MTV and radio back in the day....great voice. I've gotten into some of the early Genesis work and seen their guitarist (Steve Hackett) perform it live. Though I'm more familiar w/ 80s Genesis w/ Phil Collins (love me some Phil too). I really like the two mid-80s albums Eric Clapton made w/ Phil Collins as producer and on the drum machines...

Was enjoying the music of the Pointer Sisters last week when I watched Beverly Hills Cop I and II....great, fun music from my youth.. I was listening to the German versions of two albums Peter Gabriel recording in the 80s, incl. th German language version of 'Shock the Monkey'...pretty cool..

Wowza...had no idea the Bonneville and Grand Ville got those. I wonder if any still exist. A 3spd column shift manual seems like such an insane idea in a huge 70s car, esp. a premium model like the Grand Ville. I guess a few cheapskates didn't want to pay extra for an automatic..

The MDX is just a few inches smaller in wheelbase and length than the Telluride and Palisade, and less square and upright..probably considerably less space inside.

The CDX could do that. There was an article in Motor Trend that speculated it may come to the US...but that was 3 years ago. Edit: The CDX is supposed to come to the US later this year as a 2021 model, according to at least one article. https://hondacarmodels.com/2021-acura-cdx/

I'm always surprised when I read about cars from the 70s with manual 3-on-the-tree...that just seems like such an old timey feature, more like something from the 1940s-1950s... several B-bodies were still available w/ 3-on-the-tree as late as '71---and Biscayne/Bel Air through 1973 I believe. 3-on-the-tree was standard on the base Catalina, Le Sabre and Delta 88 in early '71, wonder how many were built.

Adorable... here's a pic from a couple days ago of our two remaining Yorkies--Ginger (age 12) and Henry (age 14)....lost Penny last year and Zo earlier this year, both were 14. Getting them to the groomers later this week, pretty shaggy.

Correct...the MDX is Acura's Pilot, the RDX is a bit larger than the CR-V. There is also the CDX which is smaller than the CR-V (China only, it appears).

Different scenario, though. The Eagle brand didn't exist until after Chrysler bought AMC--it's various models were based on Renaults (Premier and Medallion), Mitsubishis (Summit, Vista, Talon, 2000GTX) and a Chrysler corp model (Vision). The brand took it's name from the AMC Eagle which was the last old AMC model still around at time of the merger.
