  1. You may want to learn to spell before posting here..
  2. The Hyundai Sonata is a 4dr sedan, not an SUV.
  3. 147 in a Sonata.. riiiight. Speaking of going fast, my Mustang's speedo only goes to 85, so I don't know how fast I've had it ('87 GT)....I've had my Grand Cherokee up to 95 (really wouldn't want to go much faster in an SUV), but I did see 140 once in my M3 (at night on an open stretch of 75-mph freeway).
  4. I've yet to master chopsticks..I've tried them, but find them awkward and too slow to eat with. That said, I love a variety of Asian cuisine...Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, Japanese (incl. sushi), Korean, and a wide range of Indian cuisine..I love ultra-spicy Thai, Indian, and Sri Lankan, but it sometimes doesn't like me (I can get spontaneous diaroehea from ultra-spicy vindaloos..so I down 4-6 Immodium tablets before and after eating..)
  5. I don't really consciously do anything different--I try and be professional and courteous towards other drivers, though I will let a fellow Jeep, BMW or Mustang driver in front of me (when merging in a construction zone, side street, etc) before I would let other drivers in...
  6. However, GM built a concept vehicle, but Toyota built a practical real-world production car...GM didn't..
  7. Even as stubby as it is, the greenhouse shape and detail is so distinctly '70s GM..
  8. I have a Sharebuilder account and have bought GM, DCX, Ford amidst a fair number of tech stocks (IBM, Google, Yahoo, Cisco, HP, Sun, Microsoft) and companies in other industries (Home Depot, GE, RC2, some construction and home building companies, etc.. I also buy stock through my Fidelity and eTrade accounts.. I'm getting bullish on GM stock ..
  9. I'm one of the old pharts...36.
  10. That pic looks more like a '72...(parking lights below the bumper, grille center detailing).
  11. The heat and humidity would be a huge turn-off for me as far as Houston. And that it is in Texas. And the threat of hurricanes and flooding... My sister is working there 4 days currently on a contract, and says the weather this summer has been more unpleasant than Phoenix because of the humidity and rain..
  12. Yes, Phoenix surpassed Philadelphia last year to become the 5th largest US city... 1.5 mill and about 3.5 mill in the metro area..they've been growing like crazy for years..my sister has been there off and on for 25 years and has seen a lot of growth and change.
  13. It's too bad they didn't SVT-ise the LS... I saw an LS last year with the '93 Cobra 4.6 DOHC drivetrain, sounded pretty sweet...
  14. I don't get it either..the Northstar is quite competitive..
  15. Probably just numbers generated in a computer simulation...just some one's pipe dream. The long gestation cycle of the Veyron shows how difficult it is to really build a 250+ mph car..
  16. Maybe the '08 Malibu or CTS? Or the production version of the Camaro ?
  17. Article of early info on '07 LA Show (Dec 06). LA Show announcements
  18. I like modern lighting packaging..some are pretty distinctive and unique with projector bulbs, etc.. definitely better than the ugly big square 2-light systems in the late-70s/early-80s or the oh-so-dull rectangular flat plastic flush housings that were over-used in the late 80s early '90s...
  19. True enough...the G35 and 3-series are at the top of my list for affordable coupes (and they are about 1/10th the cost of a decent house around here..) The Tiburon looks pretty nice, though, for a FWD coupe, though a little thick in the middle (high beltline)...looks like it is a reskin of the current model (I think the greenhouse is carryover).
  20. It looks like it's based on the Elise...sounds like a different body and $40k of hardware changes to a $40k car.
  21. Here's a pic..it's a small wagon.

    VW Tiguan!

Tiguan, eh? Marakkech would have been good and gone well with Touareg... or how about Fateh, Hezbollah, or Hamas?
  23. It does... the doors and greenhouse look a lot like an E46 generation 3-series.. the overall profile is BMW-ish with the short overhangs, great RWD proportions. It's pretty frustrating to see Holden offering modern, mainstream GM RWD sedans while GM NA (except for Cadillac) keeps offering the same old, same old FWD rental sedans with the weak promise of 'just wait till next year(s)'...
  24. The problem is the Caprice and Statesman are nearly identical...Chevy and Buick need distinctly different styling (you don't want GM to go back to badge-engineering across their car lines, do you?) I like the idea of Pontiac getting the performance-oriented SWB model, and Chevy and Buick need the bigger sedans, but they need totally different styling inside and out(not just grilles and fascias)..
  25. Well, I've read that Chevy was developing a Zeta-based Impala for the US with semi-retro styling based on the '67 Impala.. that I assume will be the US Chevy Zeta..and it's been said the new Holden Statesman will be a Buick for the US...
