  1. Heh-heh... I've long thought 'Defecator' would be a great muscle car name, after all, Mercury had the 'Eliminator'. Defecator would be also be a great name for a metal band, I think..
  2. Touche... a friend of mine put Toyota Harrier badges on his Lexus RX.
  3. Astra, Aura.. maybe the next Vue can be called Antara like the Opel/Vauxhall SUV.. I kind of like this 'A' name theme for Saturn..definitely better than an alphanumeric approach.. Maybe if GM decides to give Saturn something bigger than the Aura eventually they can resurrect the Aurora name..it would with fit well with Astra and Aura.
  4. I've been a fan since it debuted when I was in college... the last 8-9 nine seasons have been pretty weak, though. I just got the season 8 DVD set..looking forward to watching it--there were many good episodes that season, IIRC..
  5. Nope...it's a doctored image of a Holden Commodore SS V with a Pontiac-ish nose, that's all.
  6. I think it was already announced the Camry is their NASCAR label..
  7. One could only hope...besides the Camaro and Impala, something like this for Pontiac seems like a natural..
  8. Go, go Godzilla!!
  9. The Commodore SS V looks 100% better than the current GP, IMHO (though it could do without the cheesy rear wing). And more importantly, it has the proper hardware (V8, RWD..)
  10. I like the 'Heart' one....I saw it earlier today. I just saw the 'Trickle Down Performance' ad with the CTS-v that has the quick intercuts with racing footage...the 'win on Sunday, sell on Monday' theme is as old as the hills, but makes for an affective ad, IMHO..
  11. Ohio's got Honda, though, an advantage over Michigan, I think..
  12. Well, the '07s look pretty much the same as the '06s, right? Odd that they still have the GTO on there..
  13. Good question..I did a bit of research, there are only 8 e85 stations in my state, and it costs $1.54 a gallon.
  14. When I let my hair grow out and it starts over my ears, I go to Great Clips and get a "one" buzz all over, then go home and run my Norelco over it, then shave it smooth with a razor. After about a month I get tired of maintaining the shaved head, and let it grow out again...repeat cycle.
  15. I like the Terradyne name...reminds me of a favorite computer company, Cyberdyne Systems...
  16. I guess when GM offers a Lucerne or DTS with a 6-speed, then we will know that the G platform can accept the 6-speed..
  17. A modern transmission shouldn't need 'overhauled' at any reasonable mileage interval.. a new car automatic transmission should be good for at least 100k with routine service.
  18. 5 for Pontiac, 3 for Buick, 5 for GMC.. that's 13, plenty enough for the full BGP line of 2010.
  19. I think it was probably the best looking of the W-bodies..a very graceful roofline..the 4dr of that generation looked good also. It's too bad Buick didn't have a coupe version of the '97-04 Regal and Olds a coupe version of the Intrigue..both looked pretty clean in 4dr form, and would have made good looking coupes, IMHO.
  20. Yeah, the large 2dr market seems pretty dead. Sad but true. There isn't much of a midsize 2dr market either...the Solara is on it's way out, and the Accord, G6, and MC are about the only mainstream ones left..though I've seen rumors Ford may do a Fusion coupe.
  21. The Riv was my favorite of those, I always liked the curve to the rear quarter panel..the T-Type version was esp. clean. The Eldo was crisp and clean, and looked great in the Touring Coupe version..the Toro seemed to be the most invisible of the 3, I remember them usually in a dull brown with a vinyl top.. I remember in the '80s they had a special trim for the Toro, that used the old Mercury Comet subseries name 'Caliente'.
  22. True...the '77-78 was a rebodied LeSabre basically..had pretty much the same interior. Wierd that Buick did that while Cadillac and Olds kept their old Es through '78. I've always like the look of the '79-84 (or was it '85? I can't remember) FWD Rivs and Eldos..so much nicer than their shrunken replacements, IMHO...
  23. Nah, Dubya has an Ford Super Duty Crew Cab and an Expedition at his ranch in Texas (the SD seems to be the poster truck of right-wing red staters).
  24. The main reason I'd like to see more diesels is that it would be nice in the US to be able to buy something that gets more than 40 mpg that isn't a subcompact penalty box---something with a bit of luxury, fun to drive, and efficient--- a US market 3-series or CTS with a diesel would be great..(Car and Driver tested a 330d and got 40 mpg on the highway).
  25. That's the Suzuki Forenza wagon in the US. I wonder if a wagon version of the Cobalt (or the Astra for Saturn) could do well in the US?
