  1. Why not? They are tall wagons...people movers. They are more wagons than they are SUVs...(aren't they available in FWD versions? (real SUVs aren't FWD).
  2. Just call them what they are....wagons.
  3. Make that 5 GMs (don't forget the G-bodies)..
  4. I like the old white on green Colorado plates..the newer ones (green on white) aren't as appealing...white mountains and green sky? I also like the old white on red Arizona plates, though the current ones are nice... I like the current California plates with the script, as were the Ski! Utah ones from a while back..
  5. Saw an ad tonight during the Broncos-Raiders game... I kind of like the song..the '07 Silverado was seen briefly, the ad was mostly a montage of football scenes, ranging from kids in little league up through the pros.. not bad.
  6. I've seen them in person..they seem like a Scion wannabe..I think it would do well if branded a Dodge, but it's just totally inappropriate for Jeep, IMHO.
  7. I usually set mine to vibrate, but I currently have 'Zoo Station' by U2 as my ringtone.. my coworkers have an interesting variety..one has the 'A-Team' theme, another 'Battlestar Galactica', another has the 'Sex in the City' theme...
  8. Looks good..the styling of the current Z took a while to grow on me..it wasn't until I drove one in April (rented one at LAX) that I really started liking them.. I've long been a fan of the previous-gen models, esp. the Turbo..I have fun memories of driving the one my sister had in the early '90s..driving it around the Boston area. I love the profile of them..
  9. Definitely... sitting here on the sofa with a warm 10 pound Aussie terrier curled up in my lap asleep, my g/f beside me, and the two Westies asleep on the back of the sofa.. peaceful and happy. Happiness is...enjoying beautiful fall weather like we had the last few weeks through Saturday.. last Friday in particular...breezy, about 65, sunny, the wind blowing the leaves around. A relaxing afternoon after work at the driving range hitting some balls with two of my closest friends, then a great dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant, then some bar hopping with friends downtown wrapped up with late night sushi. A good day, relaxing, stress-free, and happy to spend time with friends. Happiness is a Saturday pleasure drive... another trip to the mountains (3rd weekend in a row), this a short one--about 60 miles round trip, breakfast in Boulder followed by a quick drive up a twisty canyon in the M3, the leaves blowing across the road and Red Hot Chilli Peppers in the CD player (long been a casual fan, and I love the Stadium Arcadium album). It was a happy, stress free and relaxed weekend, and now back to a 50 hr week in cubeland with gray, rainy and cold weather this week.. but the Broncos won tonight!!
  10. My manager has an '02 X5..pretty sweet wagon.. I've ridden in it a couple of times, driven it once...I love the interior design and the exterior, very smooth driving.. he bought as a certified pre-owned... I'm thinking of trading my '00 Grand Cherokee on one, maybe an '04 or '05.
  11. Pull in, always. At work, I park in a garage, all angled, and I usually park in the same spot on the same floor every day.. I generally try and watch where I park in restaurant lots, shopping center lots, etc...try and center myself in the space, avoid parking where there cars on either side that are too close, or giant trucks or vans on either side, or near beaters.
  12. ??????
  13. No shocker that it's not doing well..it's ugly and makes no sense for the Jeep brand.
  14. Isn't sodomy illegal in some states in the Bible Belt? :)

A coworker had an HHR as a dealer loaner last week, and we went out to lunch..I rode in the front and back, and it's pretty hard to see out of...tiny windows and huge pillars.

    Cool.
  17. Good to hear York is out..one less distraction for the General, IMHO.
  18. Wow..time warp.
  19. The Corsa would be cool to see here..esp. with a diesel option.
  20. Wikipedia has an interesting entry on the word 'coupe'..I knew it was of French origin, didn't know the details.. Wikipedia-coupe
  21. For a modern use of the term, it seems appropriate to label the RX-8 a 4dr coupe and maybe the Ion... the CLS is more a sleek sedan..
  22. Yeah, but the GTO was a clean, modern design..it was just the fogeys stuck in 1965 and people that never buy new cars that were bitching about the non-retro styling...
  23. Good article.
  24. I saw an Eos on the street for the first time Saturday, in a golf course parking lot w/ the top down. Walked around it, looks a lot smaller and stubbier than i thought I would be..
  25. In 1979 (and earlier) there were many incredibly dull and mediocre (awful in numerous instances) FWD cars.... from japan and elsewhere abroad. All foreign imports:audi fox audi 4000 audi 5000 datsun F10 datsun 310 fiat strada honda civic honda accord honda prelude mitsubishi (Dodge/Plymouth) Omni 024/Horizon TC3 mitsubishi (Dodge/Plymouth) Colt/Champ renault 5 renault lecar saab 99 saab 900 subaru DL/GF/FE volkswagon rabbit volkswagon scirocco There were other, less mainstream foreign FWD models imported. This same year the only domestic FWD cars were the Eldorado/ Riviera/ Toronado, all on the E-Body platform and the Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon on the same ChryCo platform. All the rest of ChryCo's offerings (aside from the mitsu imports) were RWD, all of Ford's '79 offerings --with the exception of the German-built Fiesta-- were RWD, all the rest of GM's product were RWD. In 1980, GM introduced the X-Body 4-some and the Seville in FWD, ChryCo & FoMoCo were in holding patterns. To say GM 'made FWD popular' is to ignore the reality of the market prior to 1981. 200239[/snapback] GM made FWD in mass volume in the '80s... of those '70s models, only the Rabbit, Omni/Horizon and Civic had any volume in US....
