  1. That's just marketing... it's on the consumer to determine if they want to pay that price. I understand, though..third party products are often shit. I stick with authentic Apple products (esp. charging cables and power cords) though I know they cost more than some 3rd party shit product. As an aside, one third party product I've bought lately that I've been satisfied with are Anker wireless earbuds..better than the hard plastic ones that came w/ my latest iPhone.
  2. Exactly. Thus they don't have the need for Bentley pickups or vans. Like with Cadillac, there is Chevy and GMC for the commercial vehicles. Different approach. Mercedes has long had the duality in their reality--luxury sedans, coupes, sporty models with a long history of commercial vehicles.
  3. Bentley and Porsche are part of VWAG, they have VW Commercial for the vans.
  4. If I were to trade my Jeep on something late model from another car maker right now, I'm not sure what I'd go for..got to think about it.
  5. Love the dash on the Rivian...kind of almost Volvoish...I like the light colors and the light wood. And I do like that green exterior color you posted a while back.
  6. I like the Model S styling, but the other models don't appeal to me at all. And I really don't like having all the controls on a touch screen. I like the tactile feel of conventional controls. My Jeep has a lot of controls in the touch screen, but mostly they aren't the most essential features.
  7. I get that Tesla has great technology...being in tech and all I should be a customer of theirs, but their products just don't really appeal to me..I may eventually have an EV...let's see what the market is like in 10 years.
  8. I like Tesla, but I do think they cut corners quite a bit on some aspects of their products..by and large, I find their interiors disappointing. For luxury priced vehicles, they don't seem very luxury inside...
  9. case
  10. The C8, Camaro, CT5-V, the late CT6, Escalade, Mustang, Aviator, Navigator and upcoming Bronco are all interesting, as far as buying, .I can see myself getting another Grand Cherokee and a Challenger R/T down the road, maybe another Mustang GT.... not anything new, but a CPO to avoid the depreciation. Beyond those, there is so little left for me to get excited about w/ American vehicles...just a bunch of forgettable appliances and ugly trucks...not that different than the appliances churned out by the Korean and Japanese brands. Boring. Though there are a few Japanese and European cars I like a lot. I guess just don't care enough anymore to get too 'emotionally charged'..
  11. Though FCA is a foreign-owned company, they are pretty much the only 'American' car maker I can see myself buying products from in the near future..not really much at Ford or GM I find that interesting.
  12. I can't imagine why any Western company continues to do business with China. Their government is getting more and more powerful and authoritarian...it's time for Western companies to leave, IMO. Nothing of value left of Buick at this point, just a bunch of platform shared FWD generics...same appliances sold as Chevy and GMC with different styling.
  13. I could see them pulling out of China..no future there.
  14. Not going to happen....Ford will still be marginally global, but GM has been withdrawing from markets around the world...I think GM will be NA only within a decade.
  15. 2019 market share of GM: 16.9%. A lot of change over 80 years.
  16. I have a few that I enjoy watching frequently.. for wrenching on money pits: The Kansas guys---they often appear in each other's videos: Hoovie's Garage (maybe my favorite for Tyler Hoover's goofy persona and banter w/ the Car Wizard) Car Wizard Watch JR Go Velocity Garage The Florida guys: Tavarish (good personality, and so optimistic about his wrecked exotics) Wrench Every Day (spin off of Tavarish's channel w/ Jared Pink wrenching) Samcrac (never finishes anything, but always adding high mileage, worn luxury and sports cars from Copart auctions) VTuned Garage (a kid that seems good at fabrication) vehcor is an interesting outliner..very dry presentation, guy doing extensive repairs on ordinary late model vehicles like a body swap on a wrecked Silverado..weirdly compelling. For car reviews, I like The Smoking Tire, Savage Geese and Seen Through Glass.. Others I enjoy are Drive Tribe (related to the Grand Tour) and Vinwiki Car Stories (lots of interesting stories).
  17. '78-79. Looks like the roof is squashed. Lots of patina..you going to get it running again?
  18. Those are just fanboy illustrations, nothing real...that Corolla nose in the second pic is from 15 years ago...just delusions from dreamers on the internet.
  19. That's fake, though...looks like the actual Corolla Cross will be a CH-R sized CUV with normalized styling.
  20. Went through Tillamook once..didn't get any cheese. But did stop for gas..and discovered Oregon didn't have self serve. Was very strange having someone else fill my rental car.
  21. Scottsdale. (I commuted on Camelback Road for 3 years from Central Phoenix to downtown Scottsdale)
  22. My favorite flavor from Heinen's is the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup...have a tub of that and the Sea Salt Caramel Toffee in the freezer now.
  23. No one seemed to have posted the 2nd quarter sales number results in the Sales Ticker forum like they used to, but from what I’ve seen elsewhere the numbers were down, more for some makers than others.
  24. There is no US version on sale now, so it's a moot point. There is an E-Golf in the low 30s, but I think it's range is poor compared to the Bolt and Leaf.
  25. The European version of the Bolt---the Opel Ampera-e---starts at about 42k euros, so same ballpark. https://www.opel.de/fahrzeuge/ampera-e/uebersicht.html
