  1. The side profile is the best view of the Commodore..and the rear. Looks 1000% better than the current Grand Prix, IMHO.
  2. McCain is too old to run, IMHO...he's 70 now..will be 72 in '08. I'm willing to go with Hillary...though I like Obama also... After voting for Gore in '00, Kerry in '04, I'd really, really like to be voting for a Democratic winner in '08.
  3. When I was in grad school, I used to pull all nighters working on programs or papers... go out a little all-night diner in downtown Ann Arbor for breakfast at 3 am... drinking lots of Mountain Dew.. Back in the late '90s when I worked at a series of dot.bomb startups, I occasionally worked 24-36 hrs straight...crazy times..
  4. I've read a number of articles about it...most likely, RC2 will sell off the AMT brand and tooling at some point. RC2 has done a poor job with them since they bought ERTL (AMT's previous owner) a few years ago. It's too bad, I probably have 700 or so AMT kits (from 1958 issues to the present) in my collection...
  5. 8?? Didn't the XLR come out for '05?
  6. I'd categorize the Ferrari 612 as GT, like the Porsche 911... the F360, F430 are definitely sports cars, though..
  7. Ambien.
  8. Nope..the M5 is a sports sedan, like the CTS-v, E55 AMG, etc...
  9. No.. A sporty compact, but not a sports car. A sports car to me are cars like the Miata, Solstice, Sky, Corvette, Cayman, Boxster, Elise to name a few...
  10. Saab's appeal has historically been a New England thing, I think...not sure about now, but they used to be very, very common in the Boston area..not sure about now...kind of how Subarus historically have been a New England and Rocky Mountain area phenomenon...
  11. Primary laptop-- Apple MacBook Pro, 2.33ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2Gb memory backup laptop-- Dell Inspiron 7500 running Win 2k Pro and Red Hat Linux dual-boot desktop-- Microcenter PowerSpec w/ AMD 2.2 Ghz, 2gb ram, 250gb hard drive Others in my home office that I don't use much anymore--(these are pretty ancient) old Dell Dimension desktop #1 running Win 98 and Red Hat Linux dual-boot old Dell Dimension desktop #2 running Win 98 and SuSE Linux dual-boot Sun SPARCstation 4 workstation, running SunOS Sun UltraSPARC workstation, running SunOS Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop Though I'm a software architect/engineer by profession and enjoy using computers, I'm not much into computer hardware...I have very rarely opened up my computers for upgrades, etc...
  12. Definitely...the RWD would be a big selling point...if you could get one of these in the US for under $25k it would make a fun little commuter car, IMHO...
  13. Not good if the manual is limited only to 258 hp...the G35 and TL-S beat that and are probably lighter..
  14. Didn't catch that...darn....so what's the HP on the other engine?
  15. It's odd to see the sport type grille on a regular 4dr.. that's one of things I don't like about the CLS grille--it just looks odd without the hood ornament (all Benzes should have the stand up hood ornament, IMHO).
  16. I'd like to have gone this weekend...the weather was actually better in Detroit than here, something I've never seen before in January..
  17. headlights are the window to the soul, they say...so it must be the inner Cadillac glowing with pride..
  18. Chargerish, but different...actually, the car the new SRT front reminds me of the most is the Avenger.
  19. I like what I've seen of the Commodore SS... I think that any 'controversy' stems from that a lot of people on here are so used to Pontiac building overstyled FWD sedans and the idea of a modern, RWD V8 sports sedan with understated styling branded as a Pontiac is something they can't grasp...
  20. It's been a lousy winter so far here...snow four weeks in a row, snow staying on the ground (not something I'm used to seeing in Denver), and sub-zero temps this past weekend...and I've got a cold again.. ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH
  21. Oohh..Dodge has the backup lights towards the top of the cluster, Chrysler towards the bottom.
  22. Thanks for posting the insider behind-the-scenes report..interesting stuff.
  23. Looking at the various pics, this car has a lot of interesting surface development..I like the beveling below the side windows that extends into the quarter panel and up to the front fender vent, and all the various angles to the front fascia.. Unfortunately, I also realized how much an NA style license plate is going to ruin the front end appearance...
  24. Exactly...with the development $$$ going to to the '08 Malibu and CTS (and the '09 Impala and Camaro), GM probably didn't have much to spend on Pontiac...
  25. Just reverse the interior pics, and you have a Lumina..it's just a Commodore with LHD and different badging, I assume? Take the Lumina SS and put a Pontiacish nose, and that should be the G8...as shown in Motor Trend several months ago.. I think this can work..if Saturn can have some Americanised Opels, then Pontiac can have some Americanised Holdens..RWD sport sedans is something they are certainly known for.
